VDC has started our very own apparel and swag line!

This is the first time we have ever done anything like this. We are trying out some products to see what our viewers like and want. So far we have listed a wind breaker, two ball caps, a T-shirt, and a mug. (Do not be afraid to suggest something in the comments below).

This – right here – is another direct way that you can financially support the Vermont Daily Chronicle.

Here’s my pitch: If you are a fan of the Vermont Daily Chronicle, this is a BIG WAY that you can help support. By wearing our hat or tee shirt, you are representing free speech, truth, honesty, integrity, and real live journalism in Vermont. If you are an avid reader of the Chronicle but feel like paying for our $9 a month Sustaining Subscription is not really for you, you can support the Chronicle and get a tangible item in return! (Aside from backing and promoting the important work we are doing, which does not come free).

We’re not going to mince our words: We need your support.

Heading in the 2025 session, we need to be locked and loaded with all the resources we need to get the job done. What do we use our money for at the Vermont Daily Chronicle? Here’s a brief line-by-line:

  1. Pay. If you want quality writers, back-end tech gurus, and a team that is well rounded and actually knows how to use computers, they need to be compensated well! The quality and range of our reporting has increased in the past year and we want to not only keep that going, but to GROW. Imagine a team of talented, experienced VDC reporters “on scene” around the State. In our State House, City Halls, and on location to wherever is needed. This is how real journalism is done!
  2. Equipment/Technology. As the 21st continues to change the news “paper” business, we are constantly finding new platforms, new tools, and new avenues to our audience. We want to make our work accessible and easy to find. In 2024-2025 it seems the goalposts are constantly moving. Softwares change, microphones stop working, lights and cameras need updates. This stuff ain’t cheap! But to remain relevant and part of the conversation we are always evolving, otherwise we – and you – get left behind.
  3. Rent, Gas, Promotion. We have spent a lot of time on the road this year. We find ourselves at political functions, crime scenes, fairs, festivals, and public events. There’s not a corner of this state we haven’t been this year on assignment, and that’s a fact. We have opened and operated our own podcast studio in Northfield as well. As we continue to grow, our range will of course increase too.

There are of course other expenses involved in the work we do, but the three listed above are by far the biggest. As mentioned before, the reason we are launching this fundraiser sale is to give our viewers and readers a support option that gives them something tangible in return.

Expect more information to come on this over the next month or so as we head into Christmas/Holiday season.

  1. Hi Paul
It might help some if what is available (how can one specify what size tee shirt to request?) and how to make and pay for purchases were included, and is there a place to make and/or pick up purchases or is delivery dependent on the U. S. Post Office only? Thanks

  2. How about a simple rectangular refrigerator magnet? Or a 2-sided decal for your business’ entry door, that goes right next to your Chamber of Commerce decal….

  3. Love the merchandise…I will order the cup and hat…I have just sent in my yearly subscription, so I can’t quite afford the jacket. Hope we do get more subscribers and/or purchasers to benefit the best outlet for conservative Vermont news and opinions…please support, it is well worth it for the welfare of Vermont…

  4. Part of my next social security check will be sent for a yearly donation. Now, have all the new gang that were elected this year sent their donation????
Also will they stop using their free meal card and set an example of cost cutting???? Will not fill my bird feeder this winter for fear of another increase in my property taxes. Would change my mind on the bird feeder, only when they give up their free meals. BLACKMAIL, BRIBERY, AND EMBEZZLEMENT ARE A DIRTY BUSINESS.
