Vermont’s Attorney General Charity Clark has joined 15 other state attorney generals in signing a letter severely criticizing crisis pregnancy centers that provide women reproductive services but not abortions.
According to the letter, by not offering abortions these centers are not “full-scope reproductive healthcare.”
“CPCs do not provide full-scope reproductive healthcare and often use deceptive tactics to lure in patients seeking reproductive healthcare,” the letter states. “These tactics can have dire health consequences and rob patients of their healthcare choices.”
It suggests that these centers by not offering abortions barely count as healthcare at all.
“Accordingly, CPCs are, by their very nature, limited reproductive healthcare facilities—to the extent they provide healthcare services at all,” it states.
CPCs don’t support abortions out of principle and the organizations openly state that they do not recommend or offer referrals for abortions. The letter nonetheless expresses frustration that they don’t send patients their way.
“CPCs also generally will not even refer for abortion services. Referrals are ‘often used in medical care to ensure patients have access to specialty care as needed.’ Providing referrals for necessary healthcare when the provider will not, or is not able to, provide that care is a crucial part of the standard of care.”
The letter claims that for CPCs to inform women that abortions can lead to depression or infertility is deceptive.
“CPCs provide ‘misleading information’ connecting abortions to, inter alia, infertility, breast cancer, and mental illness, claiming ‘that abortion directly results in a fictitious condition called either ‘post-abortion syndrome’ or ‘post-abortion stress’’ as well as ‘grief and regret.’”
Response by Vermont Right To Life
Mary Beerworth of Vermont Right to Life spoke with VDC on Thursday to respond to some of these assertions. First, she disputed any notion that the public is driving this anti-CPC sentiment.
“They’ve had zero complaints against how they do their support women,” she said. “This is a flat-out attack on the pregnancy centers.”
She noted that to Planned Parenthood, CPCs are unwanted competition.
“It was an obvious threat to their business to have a successfully operating pregnancy resource centers across the state offering women alternatives to abortion which they do not offer,” she said.
She also responded to the notion that CPCs don’t have enough professional medical care on hand.
“If anyone should be regulated more closely it’s Planned Parenthood, they [the CPCs] have in each center except one out of the seven centers in Vermont, one center is not offering any medical services, those that offer ultrasounds have medical directors overseeing their clinics.
She said neither Planned Parenthood Center nor CPCs are licensed by the state. She explained that the personnel at the CPCs have medical licenses and therefore they are held to a high standard because they need to keep those licenses.
“It would be their licenses that would be revoked if they were not doing as they should,” she said. “So Planned Parenthood in their testimonies make a big deal about how they [CPCs] are not licensed, well they are not licensed either. It’s their medical personnel that are licensed and they don’t even have doctors on the premises.”
She also disputed the notion that abortions have little or no consequences in terms of impact on a woman’s health, mental health, and/or ability to have a baby in the future. She shared one story about a Vermont pregnancy center that serviced a woman who ultimately chose to have an abortion.
When the center followed up with the woman to see how she was doing, they discovered that she was in serious trouble.
“They did a follow-up call with her to find out after her appointment and she was actually suicidal. They called just in time. She said ‘You told me it could be bad, it was way worse than anything I could imagine.’
“And she said that she had really felt like killing herself. They had her come right in, they supported her, they counseled her, and that’s how they run. They are not judgemental, they do not pretend that they do abortions. No one comes in by mistake.”

I support Mary Beerworth’s commentary. I don’t need to repeat her thoughts about Planned Parenthood. I have been trying to share my opinion(s), as well as experiences, as a nurse for a long time. I also have attempted to find support to encourage some group, or organization, to develop sessions for teen age girls, as well as pre-teen, about classes how to prevent pregnancy. Schools seem to be teaching everything but that!! Is my concept too difficult?

Why is Ms. Clark involved ? For exactly the same reason Donovan had 16 planned parenthood employees working in his office to write what would become Prop 5. For the same reason Phil Scott has given planned parenthood millions of Vermonters tax dollars while never having provided One Cent for any of the Pro Pregnancy Centers. For the same reason that providing abortions to the moment of Birth is now law in VT.

I wrote the following a short while ago after watching a video of people signing petitions to stop puppies from being killed.
When you value a Puppy, a Sea Turtle egg or an Eagle egg more than a Human Baby, you have lost all credibility to have a logical discussion.
A woman had a dog she let run loose in her neighborhood. One day she discovered the dog was pregnant. She didn’t have any time to take care of more dogs and she didn’t want to spend any money taking care of them.
She found a veterinarian that would abort the puppies and made an appointment. She asked if her dog would survive the procedure. ” Sure ” the vet said, ” it isn’t her body. ”
When the woman went to pick up her dog the next day the dog looked ok but the drugs and the procedure were tough on her.
The woman asked how many puppies and what happened to them.
The vet said there were five, and he was sure he removed all the parts from her dog.
” What do you mean parts ? ” Asked the woman. The vet replied,
” Well I have to cut the puppies into pieces so I can remove them, then after that I reassemble the pieces to make sure I got them all. Then I throw them into the
trash. ”
This is exactly what happens when a Human Baby is aborted. Except when they cash in on selling the parts. Some of the organs are removed from living Fetuses.
Does it bother you enough to stop supporting it ?
Next time someone screams, ” My body my choice ! ” Ask them if they would do it to their dog.
For those that say because I don’t have a Uterus I don’t have a say, why did the vote of seven Male Justices on the Supreme Court in 1973 ( none of whom had a Uterus ) count more than mine ?

I regularly meet with servicemembers throughout Vermont to listen to their concerns. These men and women, and their families, have made enormous sacrifices and in return should receive the care they need. I strongly believe that our country has an obligation to keep the promises we make to those who defend and protect our nation, as well as to the families that support them.
I also strongly oppose any amendments in the NDAA that would restrict access for servicemembers to abortion and reproductive health services, regardless of where they are stationed. That’s why I co-sponsored Amendment 536 to S. 2226, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Introduced by Senator Shaheen, this amendment would have guaranteed that servicemembers and their families have access to the contraception services they need. It would also have made contraceptive services available at no cost to servicemembers enrolled in TRICARE.
I believe reproductive health decisions are best made between an individual and their health care provider, and reproductive health care for servicemembers—including abortion and contraceptive services—should be legal, affordable, and accessible. I also support access to adequate family planning and the full range of reproductive health programs that the VA provides.
I will continue to advocate for access to reproductive healthcare for servicemembers with your thoughts in mind. Please keep in touch. I look forward to seeing you in Vermont.

Vasectomy prevents abortion. Many (most?) abortions happen because men want them: the woman’s father, her husband, her boyfriend, her boss. Vasectomy ought to be routine at puberty, certainly less oppressive than menstruation is for women. If/when a man wants to be a father, he can reverse, or, better, adopt.

Martha, quite often the men never even know about the pregnancy and never have a chance for input. Certainly a pregnancy is almost without exception the result of a joint decision, sadly in this age of information it is apparently too much to grasp basic biology. So we have people feeding their desires with no regard for what the natural consequences might be.

1) Expose it to the public, you go to jail, publicly ostracized. (unless of course it’s female penis, then you can go into young women’s locker rooms and swing it about)

3) If you should create a “product of conception”, they can unilaterally decide to enslave your wages for 18 years and the state will enforce it.
4) Even if said penis did have permission to enter, this can be revoked and claimed as unlawful entry, see above #3. Having perhaps a signed, notarized witness might be helpful, but still not a guarantee.
The whole argument is an entirely selfish argument, I want what I want, and I don’t want any consequences to my actions. I want my cake and eat it too. If I want it to be a baby, it is. It I want it to be a product of conception it is.
Since the state of Vermont passed the constitutional amendment, men and the state should no longer be responsible to pay/raise take care of any child as it is unilaterally the woman’s choice, and since by their definition, it’s not a child…..the most anyone could be on the hook for is the “inconvenience” of removing the product of conception.

Why do they continue to call them crisis pregnancy centers? They have not been called that for years. They never call them pregnancy resource centers. Their refusal to do that shows just how much they continue to disparage and de-legitimize PRCs. It would be like you telling me what your name is, and I never call you by that name, but some other name. It’s not just semantics or a technicality. There is power in what we choose to name, or not name, someone or something. It’s part of their strategy to try to control the narrative which is—you guessed it—a completely false narrative. It’s PP who is killing preborn babies and damaging vulnerable girls and women physically and emotionally.

Our legislature even passed two laws last year which now make immune from prosecution abortionists, physicians, or pharmacists who prescribe chemical abortion pills illegally or in which women are injured. It also makes it illegal for physicians who prescribe the abortion pill reversal (ABR) regimen to women who have taken the first abortion pill, but then change their minds and decide they do not want to abort their child.

A chiropractor can’t do surgery or prescribe prescription meds, but that doesn’t mean he is being deceptive in the services he is offering for pain and overall health management. It is pretty much common knowledge that CPC’s do not and never have provided abortions. Therefore the argument that they are being deceptive in some way, is simply not true.
I would like to know how many woman have actually gone into a CPC looking for an abortion. Probably about the same amount as have gone into a chiropractic office requesting surgery.

Charity Clark is derelict of her duty. Openly condemning and smearing a health care facility is violating the rights of the facility and the providers. Publicly displaying hostility toward a select group is NOT protecting equal rights! It is clear discrimination and a clear violation of her job description and duty as an elected law officer. This is the second time she has joined other Attorney Generals outside the scope of her duties to the State of Vermont residents and taxpayers. Charity Clark and her co-conspirator Attorney Generals are colluding and working as political assassines to forward a political agenda, not uphold the law as written. Perhaps Bill Sorrell got away with it for decades, but enough is enough with these political shenanigans under the facade of law enforcement on the People’s dimes!
Charity Clark, resign now or be removed. You are not fit or qualified for the office of Vermont Attorney General.

The reason why the political establishment claims that abortion applies to reproductive health, is because the United Nations and its agencies declared so. Most people do not understand that the UN is concerned with controlling the global population. Read the Kissinger Report, a declassified government document available on the Internet, published around 1971. It details reducing fertility rates via agriculture and education, enter planned Parenthood. The last political add I saw on TV, right before the laws election, made this simple statement. Peter Welse supports activists, meaning UN activists.
Then read UN the Zun document about replacement migration being the solution to aging and declining populations. Migration, education and economic opportunities for women decreases birth rates.
Birth rates have dropped globally and are approaching or no longer at replacement level. Hense the Sustainable Development Goal of member nations providing safe and regular migration of people.
