As you take a break to celebrate our nation’s 248th Birthday, it’s a good time to consider how a free, fair and open press will be vital to reviving our nation from what columnist Karen Bufka and many others fear is its current Age of Decline.
When the press can be counted on to take the government’s side, the cronies, corrupters, and grifters inside the government breathe a sigh of relief. But when it aggressively, impartially questions government people and policies – as VDC tries to do on both a state and national level – those same worms in the apple politic get exposed and cut out.

The last bastion of Vermont free press.
Keep up the thought filled words which challenge the tripe bleeding out to the state.
Hi Susan –
Besides the constant WordPress website and the daily edition via Mailchimp, we’re now publishing almost all of our news and commentary on Facebook and X (former Twitter). Thank you Social Media Director Paul Bean! Also, we’re publishing live and edited news videos and reels on YouTube, Facebook, X and Instagram, including VDC-TV’s ‘Friday at Four.’
We had been using Facebook marketing but it’s become more cost-prohibitive for the return. We are thinking about buying Google ads. But what we really, really want to see more of is good, old-fashioned word of mouth referrals of VDC, and especially the subscription link.
You have been an awesome, encouraging supporter of VDC from the beginning, and I’m so grateful. Anything you can do to keep spreading the word is so appreciated.
Awesome news Guy and Paul and the entire VDC crew!! I am so grateful. You are a true gift to Vermont. Keep up the amazing work. Will definitely spread the word.
Thanks Alison. VITAL that this happens
thanks for allowing people to speak and converse with each other, there is no other place in Vermont for such “horrid” activity.
