Both men are listed by police as residents of Bridport, an Addison County farming community. According to Whitepages.com, the two men are related but the nature of the relationship is unspecified.

Vermont State Police said detectives with the Bureau of Criminal Investigations assigned to the New Haven Barracks began investigating a reported sexual assault on Oct. 18, 2025. The investigation determined that Christian Leggett had unlawful sexual contact with a juvenile during the summer of 2023.

Police further determined that Therran Leggett had unlawful sexual contact with the same juvenile over a separate period, from June through August 2025.

The victim’s name has not been released, in accordance with Vermont State Police policy regarding victims of sexual offenses.

On Feb. 10, 2026, both Christian and Therran Leggett were issued citations to appear before the Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division. Their arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 17, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. Court officials note that the date and time are subject to change.

Neither man was lodged, and bail information was not available at the time of the release. No mug shots were provided. The case is being investigated by Detective Trooper Ryan Normile of the Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Troop B West.

Christian Leggett has had at least two previous interactions with local law enforcement. In 2019 he and two other local men pleaded innocent to third-degree arson and stalking in connection with harassment of some Addison County residents, including local migrant workers. In 2023 he was charged with attempting to elude and lying to police in connection with a police pursuit of him while he was riding a dirt bike.

Therran Leggett owns Champlain Valley Goats and Rabbitry on Rte. 73 in Orwell, according to Bizapedia. Orwell is two towns south of Bridport.
