Two men from Springfield, Massachusetts, have been charged in connection with a drug trafficking investigation following a pre-dawn raid last week in South Burlington.
Burlington police say that at about 6:30 a.m. on June 13, the Burlington Police Department’s Emergency Response Unit, assisted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), executed a search warrant at 172 White Street. The operation marked the culmination of a long-term investigation by the Burlington Police Drug Unit, which included multiple controlled narcotics purchases.
During the search, authorities arrested Armando Robles, 31, and Orlando Heredia, 32, both of Springfield, MA. Investigators say evidence consistent with cocaine trafficking was discovered inside the residence.
Robles and Heredia were initially held at the Northwest State Correctional Facility on $25,000 bail. However, during their arraignment on June 16, both were released on $10,000 unsecured appearance bonds. As part of their release conditions, the men are prohibited from contacting each other and must stay at least 300 feet away from the White Street address.

Police are continuing to investigate and encourage the public to share any additional information. Tips can be provided directly to Detective Joseph Congdon at (802) 540-2220.
Residents can also submit anonymous tips related to drug activity by calling (802) 540-2420 or visiting the department’s Drug Tip Form.
“Reporting drug activity helps prevent further crime and keeps our communities safe,” the department said in a statement.

Shocking..
Oh look! More gang members from the Springfield/Hartford area running drugs.
And how surprising. *not* that they are let go on an unsecured bond. Like they aren’t going to talk to each other?
Exactly! Why are they always let go when they don’t even live in Vermont AND with an unsecured bond!!!😡😡😡😡
Burlington is a lost cause
Any bets as to whether or not they are legal citizens? How about if they show up for their court dates?
Smart money says they are high-tailing it back to Springfield, MA in the same vehicle . . . in total silence as conditions of release state. You can’t fix stupid.
“both were released on $10,000 unsecured appearance bonds”
What could go wrong?
The’ll get picked up again after the next arrest. Sad state of affairs.
Released…. to do what skip town and then come back next month to another
drug infested town. Our system is so broken it is no longer designed to protect the hardworking or retired folks who just want to live a normal life without feeling like danger is lurking outside the door. It’s all about protecting the rights of criminals. When is the calvary coming?
A celebration of diversity cupcake with a heavy frosting of unsecured release on “conditions”. These cases should always be prosecuted federally to prevent the usual pathetic follow up by State’s Attorney Sarah George-Soros.
“UVM report says police are stopping POCs more than others”…looks like they should. Congratulations
