More than a week after the Office of the Sergeant at Arms’ shutdown of Vermont Family Alliance and SPEAK VT’s DeTransition Awareness Day event, under the approval of Vermont House and Senate Democrats, the Vermont House Committee on Health Care has invited Youth Advocates from Outright Vermont to testify to the Committee on Thursday, March 20, at 10 AM.
The topic is “Gender affirming care and essential care for youth.”
Outright Vermont, in collaboration with Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, developed the “Full Spectrum Educator’s Guide to Implementing LGBTQ+ Inclusive Sex Ed,” which is currently being implemented widely in Vermont public schools through the Vermont Agency of Education.
Planned Parenthood is one of the state’s largest providers of ‘gender affirming care,’ Planned Parenthood of Vermont Executive VP Jessica Barquist told VDC this week.
Representatives Mari Cordes and Jubilee McGill encouraged disruption of VFA and SPEAK VT’s First Amendment rights on Facebook. Cordes serves on the House Committee on Health Care. According to her bio, Cordes “led a coalition that improved VT law by eliminating loopholes that had allowed health insurance companies to continue to discriminate based on gender identity.”
Data privacy protection or lawsuit fishing pond? When H.342, ‘protecting the personal information of certain public servants,’ comes to the House floor this afternoon, Rep. Zachary Harvey (R-Castleton) will be asking some pointed questions about the legislation billed as protecting public servants (mostly people in the criminal justice system) from online or personal attacks by withholding their home addresses and contact information. He’s concerned it will create a ‘cottage industry’ for big law firms to sue online information providers (including deep-pocketed Big Tech) for providing information that’s never been deemed private before.
So, if a certain online news outlet publishes that one of these folks lives on Drury Lane, could it be sued? Asking for a friend….
Housing bill advances – Rep. Ashley Bartley (R-Fairfax) reports the Vermont House Committee on General and Housing has introduced legislation (DR 25-0838, Draft 9.1 now H.479) aimed at addressing housing challenges across the state. The bill includes key initiatives such as:
- Rental Housing Improvement: Expands grants and forgivable loan programs for landlords to rehabilitate rental units, with incentives for accessibility and affordability.
- Manufactured Home Improvements: Establishes a fund to aid manufactured homeowners and park owners in improving infrastructure and habitability.
- Infrastructure Development: Creates the Vermont Infrastructure Sustainability Fund to support municipal water, sewer, and public infrastructure expansion to facilitate housing growth.
- Tax Credits: Provides incentives for first-generation homebuyers and down payment assistance programs.
- Municipal Taxation on Short-Term Rentals: Authorizes municipalities to levy a 1% tax on short-term rentals to support local housing efforts.
- Housing Appeals Reform: Streamlines the appeals process for housing-related municipal land use decisions to expedite development.
- Universal Design Study: Forms a committee to explore statewide accessibility standards for residential construction.
- Brownfield Cleanup Enhancements: Prioritizes housing redevelopment on contaminated properties and recommends process improvements.
- Significant Funding Allocations: Includes over $70 million in appropriations for affordable housing, infrastructure, workforce development, and recovery housing programs.
‘This legislation is a comprehensive step toward expanding housing access, supporting landlords, tenants and homeowners, and strengthening community infrastructure in Vermont. I am extremely proud of the bipartisan collaboration my committee put into this bill,” Bartley said of the bill, which passed 10-1.
Sales Tax for Building Material bill not taken up – Rep. Bartley said a bill (H.308) that would exempt all building materials from sales tax for 3 years was not taken up. The language was in the original version of the committee housing bill, but was dropped after Joint Fiscal Office was unable to provide a fiscal impact note in a timely manner.

Imon Vermont has bigger important issues to address.
Please consider some questions regarding logical progressions.
Do Transgender folks have the right to prohibit others from seeking services that don’t conform to ‘trans’ needs or the ‘trans’ lifestyle?
For example, if the ‘trans’ community insists on including ’affirming care’ or ‘essential care’ supporting their lifestyle in all public spaces (e.g., in the Statehouse or in public schools), while other citizens, parents and their children, who, for whatever reason, believe the ‘trans’ lifestyle to be detrimental to their well-being, can the ‘trans’ community force the inclusion of the ‘trans’ lifestyle on everyone?
If the answer is yes, and non-conforming citizens, especially parents, don’t have the opportunity to ‘opt out’ and shield themselves and their children from a lifestyle they don’t support, doesn’t the same logic dictate the inclusion of all lifestyles (e.g., Nazi or White Supremacist sentiments) in the Statehouse and classrooms too?
Are there any limitations to the precepts of ‘affirming care’ or ‘essential care’? Or have we reached the point of behavioral anarchy… in which anything and everything goes in a ‘public’ space?
So with all the ” real ” issues thrust apon the state from liberal policies, the state house has time for this ” Gaggle of Fools “………………………. how pathetic !!
Wake up people
Now the second shoe drops………? And no one will disrupt this gathering……..
Has anyone confronted the Sgt at Arms about dereliction of duty a few days ago?
I wonder if the trans delegation will be wearing their tiaras and TuTu’s to this meeting. And I also wonder how affronted they would feel if those who have different opinions disrupted THEIR meeting by exercising the right to free speech. Turn about would be fair play. Just me, sitting here wondering…..
…and nothing these days does a nicer job of accenting a tutu or tiara than a palestinian keffieh scarf. Just mahhhvelous.
So the goal of these degenerates is to force their perversion upon young children in the absence of their parents guidance and with the full forced taxpayer base paying for it. Also, to intentionally mention these same people denounce, deface, demean and attack any person attempting to ‘de-trans’ and speaks about it…
I understand this is a public forum and is open for public comment. So as a public taxpaying person I write willfully that my opinion is, these perverts are the enemies of America and should be treated as such. They should not be allowed anything to do with public education. And if you are any parent reading this, I encourage you to remove your child(ren) from this evil system and home school…. protect your children from your enemies
Thanks for the heads-up Guy.
“Planned Parenthood is one of the state’s largest providers of ‘gender affirming care,’ Planned Parenthood of Vermont Executive VP Jessica Barquist told VDC this week.” Pray tell, why is PP a woman’s “health” provider doing “gender affirming care?” Do they even know what a woman is? Oh, that’s right! Follow the money!!
OutRight Vermont has shown their true colors, as not only an organization that submits young children to sexual issues beyond their comprehension, but also a political group pushing their beliefs and ideologies.
OutRight Vermont has signed the Apartheid-free pledge on the ‘Vermont Coalition for Palestine website’. Their Executive director, Dana Kaplan, in a 10/24 article published on Outright’s website entitled ‘Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth Activism’ proudly states, “and at this moment we see youth-from elementary to graduate across the country leading protest calling for a cease-fire in Palestine”.
Good grief! Most of these children cannot even spell Palestine let alone understand the intricacies of middle east politics.
OUT with OUTRIGHT I say!!
This group has absolutely no place in our public schools.
Our legislators need to be advised of OutRight Vermont’s Anti-Israeli intents and of, our perceived, sexual misconduct with school aged children.
The Agency of Education in Vermont appropriated $60,000 for 2023 and recommended $60,000 for 2024 to this organization. They have over 100 groups in Vermont public schools and have trained teachers and administrators in over 17.
Let your legislators know this is not ok with you!!
Keep in mind that Vermont’s State Treasurer, Michael Piecak, serves on the Outright Vermont Board of Directors, giving the organization a bit more legislative leverage than it otherwise might have.
Correction: Michael Pieciak, not Piecak.
Time to disrupt the proceedings, after all what’s good for the goose is good for those with confused and freakish gender identities.
If I have no right for free speech, neither do you.
And do arrest me, sergeant…..that way I can sue for sex discrimination.
Not a good idea, IMHO
People opposed to this child abuse lunacy should hold the moral high ground and NOT disrupt. These advocates for bodily mutilation of minor children have the support of only the most extreme leftists and airing their wish lists only serves to degrade their public support. Watching the left self destruct is entertaining…please pass the popcorn and just let it happen…
Vermont will soon become the new TRANNY VILLE.
“Planned Parenthood is one of the state’s largest providers of ‘gender affirming care,”
Correction: PP is the largest eugenist cult providing chemical castration, sterilization, and genital mutilation – as well as ghoulish, gruesome, macabre discrecration of human remains sold at premium prices. They are also proponants and providers of infantcide. They are responsible for the termination of more black lives – tenfold – than any cop or perp each and every single day.
Don’t let the witchcraft wordcraft deception fool anyone. They profiteer off unbridled debauchery and wanton butchers of human lives. Purveyors of pure evil. Oh, and they are the DNC’s favorite 24/7 laundry services – the perfect covenant formed at the gates of Hell.
I’d like to see the DeTrans people who were disrupted and prevented from having their event storm this hearing. The trans people want equality, right? Then it has to work both ways.
I read “Full Spectrum Educator’s Guide to Implementing LGBTQ +Inclusive Sex Ed” . Instead of saying man or women to be inclusive you should say, “people with penises” ,” people with vaginas”. I’m sure that the majority of Vermonters think this is a bunch of foolishness. It is sad to think Outright Vermont and Planned Parenthood worked hard to create this guide. It is even more sad that it is being used in our schools. Even LGBTQ+ kids are smart enough to know the difference between a man and a woman. Read the guide.
So, this is completely another astro turf event, paid for and organized by NGO’s, Lobbyists and others.
This is not organic, none of it. Guy start asking questions of these groups, where do they get their money? ETc…..
You’ll be called more names. Ask them about MAP…..get their response on film, that should be very, very interesting, ask about “sex workers”….that too would be revealing, ask them about pornography…..keep asking questions…..shine that light.
btw, the more polite and considerate you are, the more unhinged your response will eventually become. Enjoy, share the findings!
A glaring example of single parent households. Young people screaming for attention anyway they can get it. Encouraged by underachievers looking to selfishly champion a cause. Sad.
About 40% of these kids will attempt suicide as the next progression in getting attention, and a disproportionate percentage will become mass shooters. Their advocates refuting all responsibility.
I’ll take the bet not one of these kids pictured was raised in a loving, stable, substance free, Christian/Judeo, 2-parent household, active in Scouting, school athletics and a community church. Mentored by respected role models.
Later in life, reading obituaries, I discovered many of my community’s beloved coaches, teachers, Scout leaders and police officers were humble, decorated, WWII vets. As the product of the Greatest Generation, we are having a value system stuffed down our throats that is counter to core of our success.
