The Vermont State Police have charged Allen-Michael Ashline, 31, of Saint Albans with embezzlement after an investigation revealed he allegedly misused a town-issued credit card for personal expenses while serving as the Road Foreman for the Town of Bolton.

State Police say the investigation began on April 15, after a Bolton Select Board member discovered suspicious activity on the credit card account. Authorities say Ashline used the card—intended solely for work-related expenses—to purchase gas for his personal vehicle, along with numerous other unauthorized items. The total value of the fraudulent charges exceeds $6,730.

Following a thorough investigation by state police, Ashline was issued a citation on May 11. He is scheduled to appear at the Chittenden County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on June 17 to answer to the charge of embezzlement.

Officials have not yet commented on whether Ashline remains employed by the town or if any restitution has been made.
