With the Stupid Majority now on the back burner, maybe we can get Vermont back to being Vermont not some LA offshoot with progressive nonsense. !!
Vermont is sick of over taxation by progressive nonsense , and the lack of any real economy improvement under any of there policies.
Off topic but the Mc Cartney tune out of the stopset “Freedom” was something he wrote sitting in a grounded airplane on 9/11
Re: Your WDEV Common Sense broadcast.
‘Lies, damned lies, and statistics’? Is the glass half empty, or half full?
Is the glass half empty, or half full?
Yes, it’s true, Guy, that on November 5th, the Democrat presidential candidate received 64.4% of the Vermont vote. But the republican candidate, and the independent candidate (who threw all of his support to the republican), received 34.2% in the aggregate.
Now compare those results to the 2022 election. The Democrat candidate received 66.09% of the vote while the republican received 30.67%.
From 2022 to 2024, that’s a 2.5% decrease in democrat votes, compared to a 10% increase in republican votes.
Never mind that the super-majorities in the VT House and Senate are history. Is this presidential vote a statistically significant assessment? Well, compared to the assessment you gave on the WDEV Common Sense broadcast in which you emphasized only the deficiency of the republican vote count, yes. It’s significant, if for no other reason than it shows that the tide has turned in Vermont, at least for the time being.
The Progs/Dems maybe do not constitute a “super majority” any more, but they stil have a simple majority, and therefore need to be dealt with as a threat to everbodies God given rights, and pockets. They have not changed !
Very true but knowing they cannot override a veto gives me some satisfaction in that now they will HAVE to play ball with the governor. No longer can they get their way.
this election in a nutshell
This governor is not on my ball team. The COVID VAX. may have had a bad effect on many people minds. The cut off of federal funds coming to this state in 2025 may clear the minds of many people.
What would be nice is if the people we elected had two-sided discussions and settled on what’s best for the people they represent. That’s the way it used to work, before the “our way or the highway” crowd took over.
What should happen: repeal, repeal, repeal – cut, cut, cut – prosecute, prosecute, prosecute. Simply follow the law of the land, The Constitiution. Stop amending it to their whims and wants that serves no one but themselves. Tall order, but the Republic should demand or accept nothing less.
