There’s no mystery why Kamala Harris has a commanding lead among women voters. Women prefer her to be our next president by 14 percentage points. Women favor Harris across every racial and ethnic subgroup imaginable: White, Black, Latina, Asian, and even Pacific Islander. No matter where they live, their religion, age or social-economic class, Ms. Harris leads by 55%-41% over Mr. Trump
Her biggest leads are with Black voters, younger voters between 18-34 years old, and White voters with a college degree.
Women share the same concerns as men do about the economy, immigration, the climate crisis, health care, violent crime, guns, protecting democracy and the constitution, foreign policy, and other important regional and national issues, but the character, and the words and actions of Mr. Trump have risen to the top of their reasoning for supporting Kamala Harris. So, what is driving this gender divide?
What woman would put up with the crude, misogynistic Trumpian-type behaviors from their husband, partner or boyfriend? Who would find a reason to excuse their spouse for hiring a prostitute to service them while they nursed their four-month old infant? Who would stay with a man who was liable for sexually abusing a woman and had to pay a court ordered fine of five million dollars? What woman would tolerate their man bragging publicly about grabbing women by their genitals and stating that “they loved it.”
When I talk with my female friends, many will tell you that Mr. Trump gives them the “creeps.” Every woman knows the meaning of that word and the sense of fear it brings. Foremost, with 65% of all women in support of reproductive rights, it’s no wonder why Mr. Trump is failing to gain the support of women. His creepy behavior and engineering the repeal of Roe v. Wade will be the downfall of Mr. Trump’s campaign.
Conversely, Mr. Trump holds a 16 percent lead over Ms. Harris with all male voters, 56%-40%. His biggest leads are with rural voters, White voters, and Whites without college degrees. Only Black men favor Ms. Harris. Latin men favor Mr. Trump, while fathers as an overall group support Trump as well.
For these men, what is the appeal of Mr. Trump, and why has gender risen to the top of their reasoning to support him? After all, they share the same concerns on national issues as women but they prefer the male candidate. Are men more comfortable with and tolerant of Mr. Trump’s misogynistic behaviors? Are they uncomfortable with a woman in the White House, and more comfortable with a man as our next president? Again, what is driving this gender divide?
The gender gap has become a painful subject for some men. For the past decade, women have out performed men in their academic performance in high school and with college acceptance and graduation rates, in the college educated labor force with higher paying and skilled jobs, with career entrepreneurship, with investing and financial organization, in overall adult learning and career development, with multitasking, dealing with pain, staying healthy, and now living longer than men.
Need proof? Contact any high school administrator or college placement office, or a medical, business, and law school admission’s office, and they will show you an overwhelming majority of women. M.I.T. is now 50/50! Speak with the Chamber of Commerce, or a personnel office of a business, and they will give you the challenges they face recruiting and hiring qualified men willing to become educated or trained do the work. This crisis is growing worse every year.
Mr. Trump has provided excuses for the struggling male population, and for young men in particular. Unfortunately he has used racism and sexism to blame innocent scapegoats, which has resonated with men of all ages, nationalities, and ethnic backgrounds. Mr. Trump’s 16% advantage with men is as telling as Mrs. Harris’ 14% advantage with women.
In the end, I believe that gender will be the deciding factor when Ms. Harris wins the election because women tend to vote in larger numbers and the reproductive rights issue is so important, personal, and symbolic of their freedom. Ms. Harris’s stance on many other issues in support of the role of our democratic government will also play a key role in her victory. Stability and honoring the Constitution provide a more comfortable vision of America, but the growing women’s vote will be the critical pathway to a Harris presidency.
When Mr. Trump loses it will not be because of his support from men. It will be because his supporters do not see chaos, hopelessness, discriminatory attacks, darkness, and fascism as domestic terrorism. Instead they see revolution, the cleansing of America, a strong man standing for law and order, and the end of the “deep state.” It is this scenario that will eventually sink the Trump candidacy.
People have had enough of his unhinged terror. The thought of Mr. Trump with the nuclear codes, combined with his recent fascist rants about ethnic purity, the use of our military to round up criminals, Democratic accomplices, and the “enemy from within” to be deported, or executed are unchristian, unpatriotic, unethical, and immoral beliefs. This, combined with his childish insults using “stupid,” “retarded,” “low I.Q.,” and “scum,” are words more and more Americans will not envision coming from the White House, and will contribute to the defeat of Mr. Trump.
Mr. Trump’s values are not the values most Americans will carry into this election. In the end, enough voters will tire of Mr. Trump’s fascist terrorism and infantile disrespect of fellow Americans. Voters will support an America offering democratic stability, hope, light, and respectful language by embracing a Harris presidency.

I disagree again with your assessment Mr. Bossange of the female Vermont voter!!! Biden just called American Trump supporters as “garbage” so nothing Harris says or does will matter any longer to me. Truly, I am sick of the rhetoric, the divisiveness but being a woman of 71 years , I look at the important everyday issues such as the economy, inflation, and being safe every day. My children are extremely important to me and if they are getting a good education in schools and not being indoctrinated into a racists, gender ideology Marxist group in kindergarten!!!
Grocery prices, gas and heating fuel costs are extremely important to me and I worry if I can put food on my table, heat my home, buy gas for my car is extremely important to me. Harris is responsible for this country’s economy with high inflation. Harris’s plan for price gouging has never worked in the other communist countries it’s been tried so it won’t work here. She opened the borders, and I mean the northern borders too and made this country unsafe, and dangerous !! All 50 states are border states and she has allowed fentanyl to pour in and criminals, terrorists and gangs come in that are killing innocent Americans. She wants a wall now?? Come on!!! This is an example of the masculinity of the liberal man and what a liberal woman probably wants as a partner. Someone to walk behind her pushing the baby carriage while she shops. An emotional man capable of calling AAA to change a tire. Someone with feelings who will listen contently as she rambles on about how difficult it is to be a woman. This is a man who probably wishes he had a vagina to match his feelings.
There is nothing toxic about this guy, but he can use his words as a weapon to destroy a person with inuendo and lies. The same type of man who would look up to a Tim Walz for his stolen valor and his policy of placing tampon machines in high school boy’s restrooms. A man who would hide behind a real man in times of danger. A soft-spoken teacher at the government indoctrination school turning children into activists for the new socialist America, a real soy boy.
Unfortunately, Vermont is full of these same creepy types of males. I didn’t say men. He probably wore a face mask as he wrote this. I’m glad all liberal men aren’t like this variety. He must write here to be abused by people who actually think and research on their own. I guess he forgot that he’s not talking to his students. Oh well, Trump/Vance 2024!
The real tragedy is that this AMAB (I won’t call him a man) doesn’t think or reflect at all. Instead, he uses all the free time given to him by a generous taxpayer funded pension, to wallow in his own perfection.
There are no original ideas in any of his writings.The weaponized words he uses have been fed to him by the Democratic Party. The sentence construction, the carefully chosen sections of passive voice and the emotive buzzwords have all been sifted through a series of editors, focus groups and political PR operatives before they were implanted into his brain by The NY Times and CNN.
You will notice too, that every accusation against Trump is either straight up false or extremely misleading. But that doesn’t matter because he believes he can read the minds of those who disagree with him – both men and women. Despite this superpower, he can’t articulate one positive, standalone reason why anyone would vote for his side. And if you asked him for one, he would insist that “not Trump” is reason enough.
He thinks he is a smart, urbane thinker. He isn’t. He’s a parrot.

It’s obvious this character being retired receiving a taxpayer pension and perhaps other perks, has nothing else to do, therefore to occupy what mind he has, has to write articles illustrating his sick mind. As I recall this is Jack Splats third article. When he runs out of substance he’ll start climbing the wall. .Should Trump get elected and start cleaning out the DC filth, Jack Splat will have more material. This is how I responded to John Bossange when one of his pieces posted on VDC on October 9th:
While John Bossange has every right to express his thoughts and opinions, I think I have finally identified what makes his writing so exasperating. He writes in the same style as those who have written op-ed pieces, columns, and letters to the editors of my local papers…week after week for the last eight years.
What is significant about the last eight years? This is the length of time which spans the beginning of Donald Trump’s first term in office until the present. Although I do not recognize any journalistic integrity about it, I’ll call it Gaslight Shotgun Journalism.
What characterizes this form of writing is an incessant blast of unvetted, mainstream media-recycled, shopworn, debunked allegations and disproven accusations taken out of context. It is almost as if the writer thinks that if he or she can blast hundreds of little pellets of these “facts,” which they smugly assume the reader will accept as self-evident truth, we’ll simply believe what they say because we’re overwhelmed by both the sheer volume and repetition of ad hominem barbs, and the vituperative spirit in which they are delivered.
And it’s fascinating that the longer Trump has been out of office, the more vitriolic these rants have become. Regardless of when these pieces were written—while Trump was in office or after—the goal has been to inflame public opinion against him for one reason: to somehow remove him from office or to prevent him from getting back in.
Gaslighting is a tactic of manipulation and intimidation which uses lies, distortions, and undocumented false narratives to gain control and make the person being gaslighted think he or she is deceived or going crazy, when, in fact, it is an attempt, at best, to veil the deficiencies of the gaslighter’s position, and, at worst, to hide more nefarious intent. It’s also a form of projection in which the gaslighter accuses the person being gaslit of the same things of which he or she is guilty.
Most of these writers have no respect for the dignity of their readers, which is evidenced by their assuming or hoping that the readers will robotically and uncritically believe everything they read, and swallow it hook, line, and sinker.
It is, therefore, incumbent upon us as responsible citizens to be prepared with and informed by the truth so that we can recognize the counterfeit when it is being blasted at us.

No wonder we are seeing such poor results in our school system if we have “educators” like this who use words like “fascist” without even knowing what the word means. Let alone the failure in critical thinking skills demonstrated by this rant.

Mr. Trump encourages free speech, deregulation, business-state separation, and shrinking our government (draining the swamp). His actions in his first four years reflect this.

I think it’s great that VDC publishes John Bossange’s drivel so we can see exactly what the opposition thinks and most of us gets a good laugh out of it because it is so warped. What we should really be upset about is that forums like the VT Digger and Front Porch Forum does not let conservative opinions see the light of day. Why? Because they know opinions with the truth and common sense might sway some of their readers to change their opinions. So, the people calling us Nazis and Fascists oppressing our commentary need just look in the mirror to see a real Nazi or Fascist.

Sadly Bossange sides with the murder of innocents and the rejection of Christ with his twisted vitriol of those, namely Republicans, who advocate for common sense and spiritual goodness for this state, nation, and the world. Kommunist Kamala at her disgusting abortion rally skewered two young men who interrupted her haranguing speech by saying, “We Praise Our Lord Jesus Christ.” Her retort?
