Second drug-related incident involving Barre-Montpelier teacher this month
A U-32 Middle & High School teacher has been cited after allegedly giving marijuana to a student on the East Montpelier school grounds earlier this month, according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers said they began investigating on Oct. 10 after receiving a report of an “unprofessional relationship” between a teacher and a student at the school on Gallison Hill Road. The investigation determined that 56-year-old John A. Boyd of East Montpelier, a teacher at U-32, had dispensed marijuana to a juvenile student on campus, police said.
The school directory lists Boyd as a special education teacher.
Boyd turned himself in to the Berlin Barracks on Oct. 24 and was arrested on charges of dispensing drugs to a minor on school grounds, contributing to juvenile delinquency, and recklessly endangering a person. He was processed and released with a citation to appear in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Barre at 8:30 AM on Nov. 6.
School officials immediately placed Boyd on administrative leave after learning of the incident, and will remain on leave pending the outcome of the investigation, Superintendent Steven Dellinger said in a letter to parents and staff, posted on 802Scoop.
No further details have been released. Police said the affidavit of probable cause will be made public after Boyd’s arraignment.
On October 1, Barre Town Middle & Elementary School teacher Melissa Martin was arrested for cocaine possession after a student reported her ‘behaving unusually’. She pleaded innocent.

What are teachers thinking these days?
Don’t just slap his hand, give him a jail cell and take his teaching license away.
In this state of Vermont (aka V.S.R.) he will not be held accountable.
Part of the NEA curricula. Last time it was cocaine on another one. Seems to be the new norm on those influencers in the classroom. Perhaps opportunities for needle exchange program sites.
Just another nut job in the back yard are you surprised!! Hell no !!
Vermont’s second poster boy. Such high standards in VT’s educational system and protected by their unions.
Will be well protected by the VTNEA and the melanin immunity…
Hey, what could possibly go wrong?
The Democrat Progressive Socialists legalized dope and the city of Burlington passes out needles ….
In the scheme of things, his actions were fairly benign compared to teachers and aids who have encouraged students to surgically and/or hormonally alter their bodies to adapt to fashionability in gender morphing.
