A snow report from Sugarbush Resort’s official channels took an unexpected turn Saturday morning when snow reporter Lucy Welch used her daily update to issue a passionate critique of the current presidential administration during the visit of Vice-President J.D. Vance and his family, the Valley Reporter shared on its Facebook Page today.
The post, which was quickly taken down, addressed environmental policy, climate change, public land management, and social issues, all within the context of her love for the Vermont ski resort.
The Valley Reporter is the longtime weekly community newspaper for the Mad River Valley. The newspaper’s post has already had 171 comments (pro and con) and 534 shares. VDC’s Facebook share of the VR post also has received extensive attention.
Welch’s post began as a reflection on her deep personal connection to Sugarbush and the surrounding Green Mountain National Forest, which she noted is federal land. However, it quickly pivoted to a sharp rebuke of what she described as the administration’s “attack” on National Forest lands, climate science agencies, and public funding programs that support adaptive skiers, veterans, and international workers.
“This fresh forest air is, more specifically, fresh National Forest air,” Welch wrote. “Right now, National Forest lands and National Parks are under direct attack by the current Administration, who is swiftly terminating the positions of dedicated employees who devote their lives to protecting the land we love.”
She also highlighted concerns about climate change, referencing Vermont’s rapid warming and potential threats to the ski industry. She criticized cuts to NOAA, the agency responsible for tracking extreme weather, and voiced solidarity with marginalized groups within the Sugarbush community, including LGBTQ+ individuals, people of color, and international workers on J-1 visas.
While Welch acknowledged that Sugarbush management and employees were not responsible for the administration’s actions, she urged readers to focus their frustration in the right place. “Instead of faulting Sugarbush management or employees for ‘allowing this to happen,’ you can direct your anger to the source—the Administration that, in my oh-so-humble opinion, is threatening our democracy, our livelihoods, our land.”
The post was removed within hours, and Welch speculated that she would likely lose her job for the statement. However, she defended her decision, writing, “This whole shpiel probably won’t change a whole lot, and I can only assume that I will be fired, but at least this will do even just a smidge more than just shutting up and being a sheep.”
Sugarbush Resort has yet to issue an official statement on the matter, but the post’s removal and Welch’s anticipated dismissal have sparked a wave of discussion among the resort’s community. Some have praised Welch for using her platform to speak out, while others argue that a snow report should remain apolitical.
As of now, Welch’s employment status remains unclear, but one thing is certain—her most recenty snow report will be remembered long after the powder settles.

Did anyone expect anything different? Lucy Welch should be fired. And the publications announcing the Vance vacation to Vermont should apologize for their contribution to this ‘doxing’ event, “…the act of publicly revealing someone’s private information, such as their name, address, or phone number, without their consent, often with the intent to harm or embarrass them.”
And naiveté is no excuse. We all know better.
I suppose anyone associated with the Trump administration should be more cryptic with any travel plans and use fake names when possible when going to a known moonbat-infested area like Vermont. Next time I hope they spend their money in Montana or Idaho, where the ski conditions are typically better and the majority of the population does not suffer from TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome). I would love to welcome them to the area but it’s just not a safe place for people who embrace freedom and respect the Constitution.
What a classless POS. Is she related to that carpetbagger Peter Welch?
I’m afraid it’s much worse than just a snow report if you family doesn’t get to ski.
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2025/03/01/vance-family-moved-to-undisclosed-location-after-pro-ukrainian-protesters-disrupt-ski-trip/
Vermont should be ashamed of itself. J.D. should have taken his family to New Hampshire skiing. At least they have a governor that’s a real Republican and a population with not so many Communists in it. Good job King Philip the Scott 1st Eunuch King of Castrati
The VP is a public official. If he can’t take the criticism, he should (a) bow out of the position or (b) not be such an invertebrate…. Only a MAGA cultist would think that VPs should be spared any embarrassment that their own actions are responsible for.
If, God forbid, Kamala had prevailed, came to Vermont to ski and was protested using the same words like fascist and nazi, you can bet there would be howls of criticism from the left and accusations of racism and misogyny. Leftists are world-class hypocrites.
for all the protestors…

Perhaps more research before protesting. Because all networks are censored you don’t get to see this.
Here is another video the protestors have not seen, surely, because all their information sites will not allow these to be shown. I wish I could just post them as the video rather than just a link.

Good information.
Lucy Welch and Sugarbush are no class acts. Infantile Leftist whiners You need some cheese to go with your WHINE. Give it a rest you childish fools.
Funny that none of the MAGA cultists in these posts can dispute, much less, rebut any of the many factual points that Lucy Welch made. Tells me a lot.
Mr. Stahl: You’re missing the point of my criticism of the doxxing of VP Vance.
Of course, Vance is a public official. Of course, Vance should be prepared to deal with your attempts to embarrass him. In fact, all of us ‘MAGA cultists’ put up with similar vitriolic behavior every day. We can handle it. But that doesn’t preclude the fact that we feel obliged to express disdain for your malicious conduct.
BTW: What, precisely, are “… the many factual points that Lucy Welch made” that justify her putting VP Vance and his family at physical risk? Would you care to elaborate? Surprise me.
I’m not surprised that you’re here criticizing Lucy Welch and yet you appear to have no idea what facts and arguments she had made. How MAGA!!!
Let’s just take her first three arguments:
1) Vance is at Sugarbush, which is situated on federal land, ignoring that National Forests and National Parks are under direct attack by Trump’s weasels. TRUE
2) Trump’s weasels actively deny the existence of climate change, even though that is the biggest threat to the future of the skiing industry. Burlington and the rest of Vermont are some of the fastest-warming spots in the country. TRUE
3) Lucy relies on NOAA’s weather info every day to provide reports that skiers benefit from, yet Trump and Vance are trying to gut NOAA. TRUE again. All of it is true.
Okay. One point at a time.
Re: Vance is at Sugarbush, which is situated on federal land, ignoring that National Forests and National Parks are under direct attack by Trump’s weasels. TRUE?
What is the nature of this so-called attack? Is it ferreting out of waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer money? Do you have a problem with eliminating waste, fraud and abuse?
Re: “Trump’s weasels actively deny the existence of climate change, even though that is the biggest threat to the future of the skiing industry. Burlington and the rest of Vermont are some of the fastest-warming spots in the country.”
No. His ‘weasels’ are paying attention to the thousands of scientists and researchers who are doing everything they can to tell us that there is no climate emergency and that “CO2 is not a pollutant. It is essential to all life on Earth. More CO2 is favorable for nature, greening our planet. Additional CO2 in the air has promoted growth in global plant biomass. It is also profitable for agriculture, increasing the yields of crops worldwide.…”.
Consider Nobel laureate Dr. John Clauser as he takes on the false claims – which stem from inaccurate computer models – of the IPCC and NOAA as it relates to climate change.
Is the planet getting warmer? It may be. But not because of CO2. You may disagree with these scientists. You are, after all, entitled to your opinion… as are we ‘weasels’.
Of course, how any of this justifies ‘doxxing’ Vance and his family remains a mystery.
Re: “Lucy relies on NOAA’s weather info every day to provide reports that skiers benefit from, yet Trump and Vance are trying to gut NOAA. TRUE again. All of it is true.”
Regardless of what you and Ms. Welch rely on, again, Trump and his ‘weasels’ are researching the potential waste, fraud and abuse in NOAA’s spending of taxpayer money. If NOAA is wasting, abusing, or defrauding taxpayers, as Nobel laureate Dr. John Clauser claims is the case, we need to know so we can clean up NOAA’s act.
Of course, what your and Ms. Welch’s claim has to do with reporting Vermont’s day to day snow conditions, or with the war in Ukraine, or ‘forcing the Vice President to move his family to an undisclosed location’, I admit, I have no idea.
Time for this one to go……..heard MSNBC is looking for birds of a feather.
sebastieniam, would you please include your full name in your handle? Thank you
Is there anything in America that is not free from politicization anymore? Sports, sports broadcasts and talk shows have been politicized by ideologues. The hollywood entertainment industry and most of television is overtly politicized. Late-night “comedy” shows are utterly unwatchable anymore by anyone right of the extreme left. These are formerly venues that people used as distractions from the events and anxieties of daily life. Now even getting the snow report before a day of adventure on the mountain has been tainted by someone’s personal quest for overt virtue signaling. It puts Sugarbush in a difficult position but this “snowflake” who used a ski conditions report for her personal Trump Derangement Syndrome mitigation should be immediately terminated from her employment. She should stick to using Front Porch Forum from now on, as they welcome such biased garbage. Our local FPF has been infiltrated lately with leftists promoting the physical harassment of the Vice President and his lovely family during their visit to Vermont. The unhinged left is rife with despicable hypocrites. I try to appreciate that phenomenon purely for it’s entertainment value but they cross the line in their zeal for industrial strength fulmination. Not tired of winning yet…
Excellent comments.
You’re saying that Lucy Welch criticizing the sitting VP is excessive “politicization”? Only certain people are allowed to have and express opinions?
I bet this MAGA cultist never complained about Joe Brandon at NASCAR races. Amirite?
This sounds like leftist Lucy Welch, needs to be removed from her duties, as she can’t keep her foolish politics out of the ” Skiing ” industry.
Yup liberals this again shows they have no common sense, and someone employed theis idiot, maybe the entire staffing needs a shakeup ????
Do you remember when Vermont was Vermont, we let this happen !!
CHenry, would you please include your full name in your handle? Thank you
One more example of a public temper tantrum by a selfish, arrogant, lawless, Leftist/Marxist Activist who has NO TOLERANCE for beliefs and opinions other than her own.
ALL those who don’t jump onboard with the unscientific, fear-mongering, narrative of catastrophic global warming/climate change to agree to spend billions of taxpayer monies on unproven “science” are deemed to be “threatening democracy and livelihoods.”
All those who don’t agree with catering to and molding our culture and laws to serve special interests; and to use emotions to overlook the invasion of law-breaking illegal immigrants are “threatening democracy and livelihoods.”
Ms. Lucy Welch,
You need to read and understand the United States Constitution. We are NOT a democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic. Our Laws matter. ALL “United States Citizens” are given Equal Freedom under the Law. NOT “special” Freedom for some and not Freedom for non-citizens.
YOUR beliefs threaten our United States Constitutional Republic and the Rights, Freedoms and Privileges given equally to ALL Individual United States Citizens.
vtbeliever, would you please include your full name in your handle? Thank you
I hope you can live on unemployment and the ski area should send Vice President J.D. Vance an apology.
So much for Vermont’s tourism indusrty.
Craig, would you please include your full name in your handle? Thank you
JUST ANOTHER DAY AT THE VERMONT ZOO. THE CAVE MONKEYS ARE RUNNING THE SHOW.
Welch’s screed “voiced solidarity with marginalized groups within the Sugarbush community, including LGBTQ+ individuals, people of color”. Marginalized? Our country changed the very criteria for marriage laws that have existed for eons to accommodate gay and lesbian couples. Our own State of Vermont provided priority COVID vaccinations for people who identified as BIPOC, and there are proposals for discounted mortgage loans for people based on the amount of melanin in their skin.
These classifications have a past history of marginalization, but according to our current laws, all are supposed to be equal and all have the same opportunities. If anyone is “marginalized” lately, it is girls who have had their sports teams and locker rooms infiltrated by boys with such policies protected by current law in several states, including Vermont.
I just sent a message to Sugarbush saying I’ll never ski there again and will go on social media to urge everyone else to find a different resort that doesn’t let opinionated leftist lemmings speak for them. I urge everyone to do the same. Fire the shrew.
Gary, would you please include your full name in your handle? Thank you
Righty tighty, lefty Lucy.
Dan A, would you please include your full name in your handle? Thank you
It sounds like she wanted to be fired. Then she can feel like a martyr. Can’t this woman realize that people checking the snow report don’t give a damn what she thinks. Of course she has the satisfaction of virtue signaling.
D. Philip, would you please include your full name in your handle? Thank you
She somehow managed to get her opinions seen and read by millions across the country (globe?), but I guess nobody “gives a damn what she thinks.” Ha ha.
Btw I’m not sure you know what “virtue signaling” is, unless you think it applies to anybody who ever expresses a well-reasoned opinion, supported by specific facts.
Welcome J.D. and family. Enjoy your stay in Vermont! Please come again next year! Ignore the Marxist Maggot protesters who hate our Constitutional Republic!
Amen – So embarrassing – they made Vermonters look like damned fools! They probably scarred his little kids and wife to death. And they could care less with their typical smug, condescending arrogance – see trolling Stahl throughout. Ugh. Sad day to be a native Vermonter. My heart sank whe I saw them out there making fools out of all of us. Stay home and keep your HATE to your miserable selves.
JD Vance thank you anyway for giving Vermont a chance to show a little class and have the left wing ass-wipes blow that chance for all of us. I hope you and your beautiful family will come again.
The left needs to be educated. I worked at a ski resort hotel. It is phenomenal the amount of waste they produce for the landfills, amount of water they use, and amount of fuel they use, the amount of food wasted,. The ski industry is not really a friend of the environment, nothing really is, but it all needs to exist because it amuses someone. And Mother Nature can absorb and restore every desecration over time!
Jrice, would you please include your full name in your handle? Thank you
My uncle, who was a ski patrol member at Stowe back in the day, was asked by a priest why he didn’t come to church on Sundays. He replied, “I’m skiing, on a mountain, and in the presence of God.” The priest had no answer.
Skiing is a celebration of life and of nature and winter, nameless one. FYI.
This woman is a fine writer, and a fine citizen–speaking her mind (accurately as far as I can tell) in support of her neighbors and her place. Go Lucy–the spirit of Ethan Allen lives on, despite all those who would truckle before power.
If you are indeed THE Bill McKibben, I have news for you. I’ve replaced my 350.org bumper sticker with a new one:
FAFOVT.
Keep on trucklin’ before the Rockefellers. We are on to you.
Isn’t it curious that Bill McKibben equates being ‘a fine writer’ and ‘the spirit of Ethan Allen’ with approving the actions of those who have physically threatened a 7-year-old boy, a 4-year-old boy, a 2-year-old girl, and their mother… because their father … her husband, is the duly elected VP of the United States?
What does that say about Mckibben’s character?
Just stop Bill. You’re nothing more than a political hack playing climate scientist without actual credentials.
While most of the comments on this page are from people who have drunk the MAGA coolaid, don’t forget that VT voted for Harris in a higher percentage than any other state (go VT!), so these comments are not representative.
One commentator said the administration and its followers respect the Constitution – that is a laugh. The Conman-in-Chief and all of his henchmen are trying to install themselves as dictators, and they haven’t the least respect for the Constitution. Furthermore, the Conman has shown crystal clearly that he is a Putin lackey. He is a traitor, and will go down in history in infamy, as will his supporters.
You’re entitled to your opinion, Mr. Murray. But not your facts.
While those of us who have ‘drunk the MAGA Coolaid” express our opinions here on VDC, you seem to forget that we do so because the progressive bastions of Vermont’s so-called free press – you know, Vermont Public, VT Digger, Seven Days, Front Porch Forum, and the like – refuse to publish our remarks. So, I find it somewhat hypocritical that you would venture into a true bastion of free speech and complain that ‘these comments are not representative’. How in the world would you know?
None the less, I, for one, appreciate your current indulgence in our lemonade-stand of liberty and freedom. It gives us all the opportunity to consider your logic (or lack thereof) in action. After all, no one is ‘installing themselves as dictators’. Trump is the duly elected President. And as one former President once said: ‘Elections have consequences’.
Buckle your seatbelt.
All opinion no real facts from the left peanut gallery .
…please comment with real, full name, thank you…
Lucy has a point and has an option through the snow report to make that point and did. Regardless of how you feel about it she should be able to do so.
If this is against the policies of her employer and she is disciplined so be it but the point is she has the right to say what she would like to say.
Your new president and associates has this right as does everyone in the US / UK / Europe / Australia etc . This is the definition of a free country.
Saying I’m never skiing there again / she’s a marxist etc —- really?? I was under the impression that the MAGA movement was about freedom.
A Barnard …please comment with real, full name, thank you…
Re: “Lucy has a point and has an option through the snow report to make that point and did. Regardless of how you feel about it she should be able to do so.”
Ahh, the proverbial false dichotomy.
A Barnard: I, for one, who was critical of Ms. Welch, and of the opinion that she should be fired, haven’t said Ms. Welch doesn’t have ‘an option… to make that point’. What we’re saying is that she should be held accountable for the harm she created in doing so.
Despite what many say, it is, in my opinion, our first amendment right to ‘yell fire in a crowded theater’… especially if there IS a fire. But if we ‘yell fire’, if only by mistake, and people are harmed by our remarks, we should be held accountable.
Ms. Welch ‘yelled fire’ (metaphorically, of course). And the Vice President’s family was put in clear and present danger by Ms. Welch’s actions… not to mention the danger presented by the other protesters and media who exacerbated the harmful alarm.
Here on VDC, we say whatever we like. And those who disagree with us say whatever they like. So, while it still remains to be seen, it appears that the now several VDC newbies posting here, who happen to be in favor of threatening a young family on vacation, and for whom accountability seems to be the furthest consideration in their mind, you, and they, have the opportunity to justify your remarks in VDC’s truly free-speech forum.
As I said to an earlier poster, if I’m wrong in this assessment, surprise me.
The comments section of this article are pure gold. Really highlighting how these idiots make Vermont look with their latest ‘stunt’
https://nypost.com/2025/03/01/us-news/jd-vances-visit-to-vermont-ski-resort-interrupted-by-pro-ukraine-demonstrators-after-zelensky-exchange/
The moment it was announced that VP Vance was coming to Vermont, I instantly knew the moonbats would be triggered. I pictured them weeping, wailing and gnashing their teeth, dusting off their Pink Hats, painting up their resist signs, switching out the Palestine flags for the Ukraine flags, and whipping up their comrads into a rabid, frothing mouth frenzy. Of course, they never disappoint those who know their pattern of uncivilized, repugnant behaviors.
They are purely ignorant as they witness communities awash in drugs and drug addicts, daily criminal violent acts, death and destruction from poverty, perverts stalking and abusing children, and human trafficking right under their indignant posturing noses. They obviously enjoy living in Hell on earth because that is how they make their living.
I have no clue why VP Vance would bring his family to this modern day Sodom and Gommorah. Perhaps it was his way to have a Daniel moment surviving a weekend in the lion’s den? He should have chose New Hamsphire.
“Rabid”

What is democracy if not being able to publicly criticize one’s leaders! She should be applauded and elitist Vance should go ski where he is welcome, like Russia. Commenters need a refresher on Marxism – it is currently being played out haphazardly in America’s White House.
We have no problem, Ms. Giselle, with your applauding Ms. Welch for her “oh-so-humble opinion,…. [that VP Vance and his family are} “… threatening our democracy, our livelihoods, our land.” We’re just asking you to explain how putting the Vice President’s family at physical risk while they’re vacationing here isn’t the more tangible threat to our democracy.
Dear Ms. Bonuit,
It seems you need to remember the United States is a Constitutional Republic NOT a Democracy. Also, your bullying words and demands are in line with the Marxism you seem to be disavowing.
It sounds like you are repeating a years long narrative you’ve heard from CNN, MSNBC, CBS, etc. Where have you been since November 2024? They were all caught lying over and over and over! Their Nazi, Russia Hoax didn’t work! The majority of American People have shown they don’t trust or believe any of their lies. Why are you still repeating them?
We all agree with the individual Right to Free Speech and the criticizing of elected, public persons, but you are missing the context. Ms. Welch is functioning and being paid as an employee to better the business she works for, not to sabotage it. She is not on her own time.
I would also ask, why do you support those like Ms. Welch who abuse their individual free speech by using it to bully and “banish” people from exercising their personal freedom and choices? Especially a family with young children who is choosing to come to Vermont to enjoy a ski trip? Where is the mutual agreeing to disagree? Where are basic manners and respect?
Should Republicans start actively protesting to bully and “banish” Bernie, Balint and Welch from their activities in public places and businesses in Vermont?
There are forums for doing just that. The snowphone isn’t one of them.
Bye Felicia.
yes, they make a platform for that, it’s called an editorial, Lucy broke the cardinal rule, never mix politics with business, especially when you’re just the “hired”.
Reading through many of these comments, one thing really struck me. Much of the criticism comes in the from of name calling and bullying just like what Vance and Trump do.
I am not saying that people should not have the right to be critical, by all means lets have a real conversation about if what Lucy did was appropriate or not, or about climate change and how Vermont is going to be impacted by the actions of Trump and Vance.
“Lefty”, ” left peanut gallery”, “idiots”, “uncivilized, repugnant behaviors…,” “Marxist Maggot” (Do you know anything about Marx?) Really? As a teacher, this is the type of behavior I experience on the playground with 4th and 5th graders. Is this really who we have become? Who we want to become?
Thank you to Lucy Welch for speaking truth, and the current administration can stay the heck out of Montana!
Shawn, please use your first and last name in comments
I would not have wanted to be on the Sugarbush public relations staff this past weekend. They had their hands full with the Vice President’s visit, and all the national publicity, pro and con.
Make no mistake, Lucy Welch has a free speech right.
What’s lost here in all the debate about what she did is one key point:
It likely was against Sugarbush company policy to use company time and company resources for a personal political statement. Welch was “on the job”. She wasn’t being paid to be a political spokesperson on behalf of Sugarbush Corporation.
Imagine the reaction in Waterbury if a public relations staff member at Ben & Jerry’s used company resources while on the job to tell people that ice cream will harm your health, and to buy frozen, pureed broccoli instead as a treat. Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield back in their heyday would not be amused.
Imagine the reaction at Burlington City Hall if Mayor Mulvaney-Stanak’s staff issued a statement on city letterhead objecting to the Mayor requiring police department press releases to be reviewed by the Mayor in advance. (You may not agree with the muzzling of Chief Murad, but Mayor Mulvaney-Stanak wouldn’t be the first politician in this nation to require something like this.)
You get my drift.
Employers have a right to expect that employees will refrain from on-the-job activities that are potentially harmful to the business or political entity’s objectives, and are outside the boundaries of the job description.
Lucy Welch can say anything she wants on her own time. She does not necessarily have the right to speak on behalf of Sugarbush on anything other than what her job defines: a report on snow conditions on the slopes. She knew that in advance, by her own admission, and she rightfully should be fearful she’ll lose her job.
Thank you for pointing out to leftist morons that the Constitution does not protect speech made by those under private employment constraints. Your good examples given make it easier even for feeble-minded moonbats to grasp that concept. It did seem that Ms. Welch was fully aware of the consequences to her employment status and CHOSE to go ahead with her virtue signaling tirade. Hope it was worth it, since jobs in the non-profit/NGO sector which rely on federal funding are going to be short in supply.
Re: “… the Constitution does not protect speech made by those under private employment constraints.”
Yes, Rich. The Constitution does protect speech made by an employee in a public or private company. To say otherwise is to advocate for censorship.
On the other hand, while The Constitution protects that right, it also provides for redress of grievances resulting from what was said. If you say something that harms someone, like creating a clear and present danger to a young family on vacation because their father/husband is the VP of the United States, you had better lawyer-up.
Wheelock is right that Lucy Welch can lose her job over this. Lucy even admitted that she understood that.
But why is Wheelock implying that that means that Lucy should have shut up? If you’re so beholden to a job to an employer who would fire you for this, then you should probably find a better position with better employers anyway.
Lucy seems to have made the decision to stand on principle. Good for her. If her employers want to fire her, I hope they face pushback from customers who can ski just as easily at Jay, Killington, Stowe, Mt Snow, …
Eshelman’s not a lawyer or, if he is one, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
The Constitution protects speakers from speech restrictions imposed by the government, not private employers.
And Eshelman’s paranoid fantasies about Vance being targeted by assassins because of something in Lucy’s snow report is beyond ludicrous. Nothing Lucy said even comes close to anything that could conceivably expose her to liability.
Re: “The Constitution protects speakers from speech restrictions imposed by the government, not private employers.”
A typical cart before the horse characterization. For example, the 1964 Civil Rights Act, and various other federal and state laws, give private employees the right to complain about harassment, discrimination, and workplace safety violations – not to mention federal and state whistleblower laws giving employees the right to talk about possible unlawful conduct in the workplace.
None the less, Mr. Stahl, you and I, and everyone else, “not under the jurisdiction of a foreign power”, are allowed to say whatever we want any time we want – – – understanding however, that The Constitution also stipulates that we can be subject to due process redress of grievance should our speech harm someone.
Caveat emptor.
Paranoid fantasies? Assassins? Like Thomas Crook in Butler, Pa. And Ryan Routh in West Palm Beach, FL.
“The remarks saw hundreds of angry protesters swarm the ski resort where JD Vance was vacationing, forcing the Vice President to move his family to an “undisclosed location”. – news.com
“US media reported the family were forced to leave and move to an undisclosed location from the planned ski resort because of the demonstrations.” – Manchester Evening News
“Vice President JD Vance was forced to move his family to an “undisclosed location” after hundreds of pro-Ukraine protesters swarmed the Vermont ski resort where they were vacationing Saturday” – AOL
“There have… been four publicly confirmed assassination attempts on the nominee’s life since he [Trump] entered politics, in which law enforcement were able to verify that the intent of the culprit was to kill Trump.” – Newsweek
With all due respect, Mr. Stahl. Your assurances are anything but comforting.
While Welch may express her political opinion she used the Sugarbush name and resources without permission and I would conclude she should be suspended or dismissed without compensation. Absence of penalty is a precedent for Sugarbush’s approval in the future for any employee to take opportunity for personal promotion of their beliefs using her employment and resources by Sugarbush and use of business resources without under guise as snow report & prior approval by management.
Wait, wait, wait…the hypocrisy is astounding.
1. Peaceful protestors are doxing and putting a family in danger yet the actual unlawful breaking and entering of federal property that actually resulted in the loss of life was perfectly reasonable, as was the pardoning of the associated charges? Or the death threats on election officials from both parties or employees from Dominion were OK?? One would think Fox having to pay over $700 million for false and harmful rhetoric would have been a clue. Would love to see all of your pearl-clutching pushback against that narrative!
2. It’s funny to me how MAGA folks are suddenly throwing around constitutional republic like it’s new. I think that became clear (for those previously not in the know) when Bush 2 was sworn in over Gore. The electoral college and equal representation of each state in the Senate despite population size are all key components. So love the new pounding on the table, guys. Keep on going with Fox News for all this late breaking introduction to US government. No, the US has never been a democracy. Trust me- we sadly know this. Also love this new-found talking point as a reason to curtail citizens’ rights for you.
3. Yet, the same people rallying around the people trying to change the constitutional republic into an oligarchy (intro to world politics – look it up!) are crying about the constitutional rights of all citizens being equal? Really??? My uterus begs to differ. As do the victims of systematic racism that even Trump’s DOJ can’t hide.
Anyhoo, loved the snow report. No storming of the castle (literal on Jan 6, 2021) needed to share a point and made by someone who fully understand that her actions had consequences. Now THAT is a lesson MAGA could learn.
Re: “It’s funny to me how MAGA folks are suddenly throwing around constitutional republic like it’s new.”
What’s not so funny is the limited perspective of your obviously recent entry into the VDC comment space. Many of we ‘MAGA’ incorrigibles have been citing the benefits of our Constitutional Republic and the Electoral College, for years here. We constantly cite the Federal and State Constitutions, the Federalist Papers, and judicial precedent.
None the less, welcome to the fray. But you better get your facts straight. Accountability is the name of the game here.
Wait, wait, wait.
Re: “ yet the actual unlawful breaking and entering of federal property that actually resulted in the loss of life was perfectly reasonable, as was the pardoning of the associated charges?”
Hmm. Which ‘breaking and entering of federal property’ are you addressing?
“Rioters targeted the federal courthouse in Portland, Ore., on Thursday evening in renewed clashes between demonstrators and federal police.” – Yahoo news
Or was it the “Nearly three dozen people have been detained after flaming bottles and rocks were thrown at officers during a violent protest at a new police training center that’s been the site of prior demonstrations and the death of a protester, Atlanta police said.”
Or ‘the protesters were deliberate in their efforts to trap officers inside the East Precinct building [in Seattle, WA] Monday night before setting fires.’
Or the ‘Cheering protesters torched a Minneapolis police station Thursday that the department was forced to abandon as three days of violent protests spread to nearby St. Paul.”
Truth and Context Ms. Wilson ………. your post is missing Truth and Context. You have repeated the same anti-Trump talking points and lies. No one with common sense is buying the hyped up January 6th lies anymore. Seek the Truth. It’s available if you are open to hear it.
I wonder how impartial you really are?
Please tell us, is it insurrection or treason for a United States President to open the borders of the United States to allow an invasion by thousands and thousands of persons; everyone and anyone from anywhere who wants to come in? That same President who’s job is to manage the borders and the safety of the American People?
An aside: It is also interesting to note that these ‘peaceful demonstrators’ advocate for supporting a war in Ukraine (to put Russia in its place to be sure), a war that has killed hundreds of thousands of people in a three-year period, costing U.S. taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars, and a war with no end in sight, or little if any prospect for a reasonable end. Go figure.
Could it be that all of these self-righteous Vermont protestors are neocon warmongers in disguise? I wouldn’t be surprised if they owned, directly or indirectly, stock in the various defense contractors who profit from this war.
Again: “Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster… for when you gaze long into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.”― Friedrich W. Nietzsche
Interesting one of the most polarizing and triggering stories is VP Vance stepping foot in Vermont and a Sugarbush employee, skis out of bounds of her actual job duty to broadcast something other than ski conditions. Of which, didn’t make national headlines, it was the protesters being broadcast for all the world to see. Vermont is making lots of national headlines and none of it will help our tourism – Border agent shot by lunatic fringe terrorists, a plane crash, and now freak outs and meltdowns over the VP skiing in Vermont with his family. Makes good for New Hampshire – they don’t make politics or wokeness more important than tourism dollars.
For those who keep parroting and yapping about “our democracy” are displaying the results of a failed education system or have fallen under the spell of witchcraft wordcraft. If people only knew how far away we are from what is actually the Law of the Land. If they only knew nearly everything enacted runs rimshod over the Constitution and is null and void. We, the People, have the duty and authority to not comply or obey with “their democracy.” The only reason the “grubberment” gets away with unlawful, treasonous, fraudulent Acts, is no one objects – the People don’t know what the actual document says or means. Truth bomb: “our democracy” is actually fraud and the fake authority therein are criminals committing treason for over 100+ years. No honor among thieves! Carry on!
We were talking about possible demonic activity in our state….there may be more to that than we are aware….
They want us fighting each other so you can’t see what they are truly doing. This feed shows how entrenched everyone is and how name calling and pride filled we are all the while we are being robbed blind and going to a senseless war. Enjoy the video.
