Rep. Balint highlights January 6 in response to Speaker Johnson’s Capitol Protest criticism
House Speaker Johnson (R-La.) held a press conference yesterday, condemning lawmakers who protested at his office and calling AOC and Bernie Sanders the “true leaders” of the Democratic Party.
“A few members of Congress went into the little foyer of my office and tore down a sign that I had up and just engaged in all sorts of political stunts and antics” said Speaker Johnson in a Press conference yesterday evening where he accused Democrats of a broader disdain for law enforcement.
“They’ve been doing that every day now, and it shows their desperation,” Johnson continued. “It also shows a very dangerous trend that we’ve seen all across the country, where the left is now embracing violence as a political tool. And that’s something that we cannot tolerate. We have to stand up against it. We have to make sure that our law enforcement officers are respected, that they’re protected, and that they’re able to do their jobs without fear of retribution or violence.”
In post on social media, yesterday (10/17), Representative Becca Balint, D-Vt., drew attention to the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot as a counterpoint to House Speaker Mike Johnson’s recent criticism of a Capitol protest.
In response, Rep. Balint shared an image from the January 6 riot, where thousands of Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol, challenging the certification of the 2020 presidential election results. Her post read, “OMG @SpeakerJohnson, wait til you hear about January 6th!” with a photo of the chaotic scene.

Part of this controversy includes Rep.- elect Adelina Grijalva, D-Az, who was recently elected I Arizona, securing the congressional seat left vacant by her father’s death, cutting down on republicans’ razor-thin House majority.
Rep. Becca Balint claimed on social media, yesterday (10/16) that Speaker Johnson is making it difficult to quickly swear in Grijalva, saying “he has sworn in Republicans in pro forma sessions. He has made sure that they are seated immediately..And it should not be up to the Speaker of the House to decide which congressional district has representation…do the work, and he needs to stop with the phony excuses.”
Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., joined arms and chanted “swear her in” with Reps. Melanie Stansbury, D-N.M., and Nanette Barragan, D-Calif., as well as Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva, D-Ariz., as they marched on Johnson’s office with members of their staff.
Johnson’s press conference continued with criticisms of the Democrats antics, claiming Rep. Alexandria Oracio-Cortez, D-Ny, and Senator Bernie Sanders are ‘the real leaders of the Democratic Party.”
“CNN hosts the first socialist town hall, where Bernie Sanders and AOC said the quiet parts out loud,” said Johnson. They don’t know what they want to end the shutdown…They couldn’t provide a single viable solution for the mess that they themselves have gleefully created…And by the way, those are the real leaders of the Democratic Party, AOC and Bernie. Good luck with that.”
Speaker Johnson mentions the government shutdown, which began after Senate Democrats rejected a Republican continuing resolution (CR) funding bill for the tenth time because of demand to extend Affordable Care Act subsidies that are set to expire at year’s end. This is a move Republicans label as excessive spending, including aid for undocumented immigrants. Federal workers remain unpaid as the ongoing shutdown continues.

God help us!
If I’m not mistaken, are the members of Congress getting paid regardless of the shut down? Are they still able to receive free healthcare? They are still able tap the congressional ethics fund to payoff deeds done dirty that no one shall ever know about? They are enjoying their vacations, trips abroad, dining out, sending out flyers proclaiming how they can help us – yet the departments of “help” are closed and not answering the phone?
The True matter behind the shut down is a matter of putting America last because Congress, the DOJ, the White House Palace, the military industrial complex is still chugging away at full speed. The Treasury is still printing IOU junk bonds, the Fed is sweating bullets stomping out Jamie Dimon’s “cockroaches,” and Alaska is airlifting citizens out of flood ravaged villages. Taco’s anyone? Bernie and his Jetsetters are doing just fine – the scripted theater remains flush by blustering.
Regardless, how Vermonters keep Voting for Mr.Sanders is Astounding…
How people of Vermont keep on voting for the Democrats non-stop is absurd. I say they voted for homelessness and filling VT with people on drugs. That goes with repeat offenders, too.
Yup, the very things Bernie purports to champion and rail against he is guilty of perpetuating with his virtue-signaling obstinacy. What a hypocritical and spiteful farce.
Hopefully, those who have been deceived by the hollowness of his rantings will begin to wake up and come to their senses and finally call him out and vote him out.
Nothing is going to change in the geopolitical realm until folks realize what Jordan Maxwell spent almost 4 decades of research on. America was hijacked in the 1600-1800’s where Common law within a Republic was replaced with Statutory jurisdiction and where all Officialdom since this time have taken an Oath, thereby making them operate outside of what Human Beings believed was in place all along.
This is the main reason why nothing gets accomplished to benefit WE the People who have been turned into commodities; thereby making us ‘fiction’. And simultaneously the government intensified and increased us further into slaves with heavy regulations, mandates, policies procedures and property taxes. This is why the likes of the above noted existing democrats and even republicans don’t accomplish anything and even make things worse. If a regular business was operated as the government operates, they would be shut down and run out of town.
Everyone should be asking themselves, why on earth as the expression goes, would warrant a government to shut down in the 1st place, especially when WE the PEOPLE ‘allegedly’ and I say this because, if these folks were truly elected — who then gave them permission to shut down the government entity? I didn’t give them permission. Did YOU?
WE the PEOPLE ‘elected’ our fellow Human Beings who WE are paying via taxes to make decisions, spend $$ and speak on our behalf. Sooooo why the current shutdown?
Additionally…Why, if there is a government shut down, are WE the People still paying taxes, especially when we already found out in the last 4 years, via DOGE, the government has misappropriated billions of $$ through all sorts of NGO’s non-governmental agencies and offshore accounts?
Furthering to say, America’s current debt load is nearing $38 Trillion dollars. This is not acceptable at all.
Why haven’t WE the PEOPLE applied the Declaration of Independence clause of the below, 3 decades ago? It clearly shows, the folks we ‘elected’ in the last 3 decades were not operating within the Declaration of Independence working in concert with the Constitution within a Republic America…

“That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it.”
IN my observational lens, why do we even need to be governed by our fellow Human Beings who don’t know how to govern in the 1st place. If they did know how to govern, we wouldn’t have an increasing Trillion $$ debt load. And as Melissa pointed out, parts of western Alaska, particularly Kipnuk have been flooded out per Alaskabeacon news article. Why did it take till January 2025 for those folks to get any type of ‘governmental funding/aid’ for 2024 summer major flooding? Officialdom politicians are not doing what they were ‘elected’ to do because if they were, there would be no Human or Animal casualties because proactive assistance would come almost expedient prior instead of way after the fact. Or in the case of Kipnuk, they would have gotten more help/funds to get all their structures elevated, everyone would own a boat or even moved to ‘higher’ ground, so if flooding occurs, they would be safe or have means to save themselves.
And for good measure, I’m throwing this dialogue into the mix. Instead of Vermonters protesting ‘no kings’ which is basically a distraction from real events and 99% of the protesters don’t have a clue what they are supporting, maybe instead these folks can help by being more resourceful to our Alaskan Human Beings mates.
