After winning the Vermont state championship on July 19, the Connecticut Valley Little League travel today to Staten Island for the regional championships.
Coach Cassie Moulton provided us with the following summary:
“The girls started the All-Star season playing in the 10U District 4 Tournament in Northfield, VT. They won the District Championship title and moved on to the VT State Tournament in Burlington, VT. They won that tournament on July 19, 2024 making them the VT State 10U Champions.
“They made it through both tournaments without a single loss (tournaments are double elimination) making their record 6-0 this season. This has only happened for a Connecticut Valley Little League 10U Softball team one other time, so for some of these girls it will be a once in a lifetime experience.”
The regional tournament will host both New England and Mid-Atlantic teams with each region crowing a winner. The two winners will then face off in a regional final. There is no World Series at this level, according to SILive.com.
Moulton said the CVLL All-Star team is made up of girls from Haverhill, Orford, Newbury, Bradford, Fairlee, Vershire, and Topsham.
The players are Camilla O’Donnell (#33), Marley Perry (#23), Brynn Carter (#7), Hayden Hatch (#22), Addie Moulton (#3), Riley Taylor (#4), Anna Aremburg (#2), Kylee Melton (#1), Panda Sullivan (#99), Maylee Danforth (#19), Sophia Hart (#13), and Kaylin Ruggles (#5).
The coaches are Adam Carter, Cassie Moulton, and Jeremy Hatch.
The team set up a GoFundMe to raise funds to help cover travel expenses.
