At a court hearing this week, Chittenden County State’s Attorney Sarah George said she “wholeheartedly concurs” with the gag order the lawyer for serial offender Michael Reynolds seeks to impose on the Burlington Police Department.
George was giving the thumbs-uip to lawyer Josh O’Hara’s motion to stop Burlington Police from commenting on the case of Michael Reynolds, who has had 1,850 police incidents resulting in more than 50 convictions in the last 15 years. Burlington Police Chief Jon Murad has publicly called for Reynolds to be sentenced as a habitual offender, which carries a life sentence.
However, George herself made similar, possibly prejudicial remarks in a high-profile court case as recently as November, 2023.
As reported in the November 29, 2023 Vermont Daily Chronicle, George called the shooting of Palestinian men on North Prospect Street, Burlington “a hateful act” – despite the lack of evidence that the suspect had shot the men with their ethnicity in mind. VDC wrote then:
“George’s statement calling the November 25 shooting of three Palestinian men in Burlington a ‘hateful act’ may have violated Vermont’s code of conduct for prosecutors.”
That code requires prosecutors to ‘refrain from making extrajudicial comments that have a substantial likelihood of heightening public condemnation of the accused.’
Reynolds, meanwhile, has been talking freely to the press about what he would like: ““I need methadone, I need to have transportation, I need to have a motel room right now,” Reynolds told WCAX on Tuesday.

There is no judicial system in Vermont. looks like most of it is run by public opinion.
Sarah George, another black eye for Vermont’s judicial system, she will commit wherever the wind blows her or the camera ……. pretty pathetic.
She’s just a left-leaning activist, follow her record and her commits, double standard
is an understatement !!
Sarah George ‘ s use of the word ” hateful ” does nothing more or less than express her political ideology in decrying an act as hateful simply because three Palestinians were the victims . Palestinians as a persecuted population sells well in a progressive sate .
More horse s–t!! This animal has no respect for his victims, thumbs his nose at the police and the court system and doesn’t appear in court when required to do so. That alone should automatically land him in jail. To him, law abiding citizens are the enemy and he considers them a free source to appropriate anything he wants in life.
He gets a far left, woke/activist attorney who is I am sure loved by Sarah George because his warped ideology matches hers. This is a sickness and citizens should be irate that these “turnstile scum bags” have far more rights than we do. The judges never seem to push back against this craziness and these misfits just walk out the door ready to repeat it again hours later. I would think a states attorney who gives one of these sicko’s a “chance”, only to see him/her back within days/weeks should be so angry for being “used” it incite them to throw the book at them. Tell these miscreants, you thumbed your nose at the system, so now the system owns you. Enjoy a lengthy stay in a 10′ x 10′ room provided by the state. Don’t call us, we will contact you some time in the future. Enjoy your accommodations!
In this past year, a number of “bad people” who had been released dozens (even hundreds of times in several cases) ultimately committed murder. Any layperson could have predicated that it was bound to happen, but nothing changes in Vermont.
Sad, sad, sad!!
Seems like this reynolds fella wants a lot of things except a job
The answer is simple: YES. She’s an elected official of a dying Leftist breed, and people are surprised?
You could spin the motive for ANY crime into some form of “hate”, including self hate. Sarah George says stuff like that, just like some of the virtue signaling, nonsensical word salads that spewed forth from Kamala’s lips. Chief Murad was well within his rights of free expression either as a law enforcement officer or a private citizen when he stated the obvious regarding this person’s eligibility for being charged as a habitual offender. Any person with common sense would concur with him on that. The proposal for a gag order is unconstitutional. The First Amendment may have been a political prisoner for a few years but starting Jan 20th, it’s back with a vengeance.
I wonder why Ms. Sara George has not invited Mr. Reynolds to stay at her home?
I suppose this statement below as quoted in the WCAX website would meet her requirements. Nice to know a man can just attack a random person in a mall in S Burlington and drag him to the ground but the Police Chief won’t consider it to be a violent or felonious assault. Guess the guy checks off the right boxes and the victim is white so nothing to see here.
“This was not a violent or a felonious assault but still something that we’re concerned about and investigating,” said South Burlington Police Chief Shawn Burke. He says they are looking for a Black male around 6-foot-2, with facial hair. “So we can interview that person and understand in full context what happened.” Burke adds that stranger violence is actually fairly rare,
Question.
Does she need George Soros to approve any of her press releases?
Might be a good question for Guy to ask. lol….have fun with this, they know not what they are doing, puppets have no mind of their own….
I need drugs, free ride and free place to stay….
See word is out among the criminals, Vermont is an easy place to do business, no permits required, no fees or taxes for the business, free everything. Food shelves will gladly provide food for free.
See why we have a drug and crime issue in Vermont?
Montpelier, here’s your sign.
““I need methadone, I need to have transportation, I need to have a motel room right now,” Reynolds told WCAX on Tuesday.
What? Sara George didn’t offer Reynolds a ride to her home to stay and offer a fix?
She is useless just like the mayor and the council.
He can have everything he’s asking for, in Jail. Transportation to Jail. Place to stay, in Jail. Methadone, heck he could get heroin if he wanted it, in Jail.
No, he can skip the methadone (in jail that is), it might hurt for a bit but he’ll get over it. It’s not like he can go anymore off the deep end than he already has.
