Newly elected Vermont Lieutenant Governor John Rodgers visited Norwich University on Saturday, January 18, conducting the ceremonial puck drop during the men’s hockey intrastate rivalry game between the Norwich University Cadets and visiting Vermont State University – Castleton Spartans.

Upon their arrival on campus, the Lieutenant Governor and his wife, Brenda, were greeted by William Kolb and Cadet Forrester Belanger, two Norwich University students currently serving as interns in the Lieutenant Governor’s office.

The interns proudly walked the couple throughout the athletic facilities at Norwich University, including taking time to watch Coach Ute Otley and the Norwich women’s basketball team’s game. Throughout the tour, elements of Norwich’s rich history and deep Vermont connections were discussed.

The Lieutenant Governor was welcomed to campus by LtGen John Broadmeadow, USMC (Ret), 25th President of Norwich University, prior to the ceremonial puck drop.

  1. There are slight contrasts in political day one performances, between those who just took office on the federal level and those who just took office in our lovely state of Vermont.

    Seriously…..

Is this how we defend our constitution? Is this an example of first day at work? All the disparaging of President Trump and look at the difference.

How are you going to make Vermont affordable again? Livable? Respectfully I think it’s going to take more than dropping a puck and putting a deer head on your office wall, for many this just signals Vermont is not going to change in the coming two years. You will keep doing the same, just as long as it doesn’t bankrupt Vermonters.

We need some action, some words, unity within the VTGOP or at least some people willing to speak out, canceled or not.

We can do much better in Vermont, we desperately need to do so.

  2. Nice photo op but it doesn’t tell me what you are going to do for Vermonters!!! Give me news on how Vermont will now secure our border, stops illegal migration and drugs from coming into our state and destroying communities and families. Stop illegal voting by keeping all of the voter rolls purged of anyone who has died, moved away or here illegally. It’s against the constitution to vote illegally.
How the state will counteract high fuel costs, high energy costs, high taxes, high school taxes when children are getting terrible standardized testing scores yet teachers want and get paid more. The high cost of living not just for the poor (because they are already on the gov dole), but for the retired people living on a fixed income and the middle class. These people are your constituents. They are living paycheck to paycheck!!! They are not the elite who want Vermont to remain with progressive policies forever, those people don’t care about their state. Those liberal policies have failed and were voted out on Nov 5th so start making changes!!! Yes there are still a lot of us, dem/rep because Vermont is where we’ve lived most of our lives, maybe all of our lives, and I’m positive we want to die here and not be forced out of our homes. We need costs to be lowered.
FEMA is dead and if Vermont will be responsible for future flood weather events then Vermont will be responsible for fire/flood prevention along with restorating people’s property and lives if possible.
A great idea would be to ban geoengineering!!!! Yes, expose geoengineering and write a bill to ban it!!! Weather manipulation, cloud seeding-to put chemicals in the atmosphere to dim the sun or make it rain—-other states are banning it so why not Vermont!!!
