RFK challenges Bernie on Pharma campaign dough during Senate confirmation hearing

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

By Paul Bean

Yesterday, January 29, during Robert Kennedy Jr.’s Senate confirmation hearing on his appointment to head of Health and Human Services, Senator Bernie Sanders pressed RFK on his stances on climate change, vaccines, and health care as a whole.

One climate change:

Senator Sanders: I happen to believe, that climate change is real, it’s an existential threat, and it is a health care issue. Donald Trump thinks that it is a hoax originating in China. Question is, in your judgement is climate change a hoax? Or is it real causing devastating problems?”

RFK: “President Trump and I from the beginning, our first meeting agreed to disagree on that issue. I believe climate change is existential. My job is to make Americans Healthy Again…

Senator Sanders: Do you believe.. do you think.. do you disagree with Trump, you don’t think climate change is a hoax…is what I am hearing?

RFK jr: My job here…

Senator Sanders: I am just asking that Mr. Kennedy, not a trick question.

RFK: I answered your question Senator Sanders

Sanders: Okay, you disagree with the President on that.

RFK: I answered your question.

Sanders: Haha, Okay.

Overnight, many viewers of the exchange pointed out that Bernie Sanders had received millions of dollars from the pharmaceutical industry, with at least one report from Open Secrets that he had accepted $1.5 million dollars in campaign contributions from the pharmaceutical industry.

“I wanted to congratulate you for the phrase ‘Make America Healthy Again.’ I think that is a cry that all of us – a goal that all of us share – because, as you have indicated, we are a very unhealthy society,” said Senator Sanders in his opening statement during today’s “Part Two” of the Senate Confirmation Hearings.

“Your uncle, President Kennedy, and your father, Bobby Kennedy, a great senator from New York, both did the right thing. They said that health care is a human right. I’m not sure how we can move to making America healthy again unless we have the guts to take on the insurance companies and the drug companies and guarantee health care to all people. I will be asking you a question about that.”

Sen. Sanders: Let me ask Mr. Kennedy again, if we want to make America Healthy, will you assure the American people that you will fight to do what every other major country on earth does: guarantee healthcare to every single American.

RFK: I am going to make America healthier than other countries in the world right now.

Sen. Sanders: Will you guarantee what every major does..simple question?

RFK: “And by the way, Bernie, you know, the problem of corruption isn’t just in the federal agencies it’s in Congress too. Almost all of the members of this panel, including yourself, are accepting millions of dollars from the pharmaceutical industry, protecting their interests.”

*crowd cheers/applauses**

Sen. Sanders: “Woah no, no, no no no no…..I thought that that would, well… I ran for President, like you, I got millions and millions of contributions, they did not come from the executives, not one nickel of PAC money from the pharmaceutical industry, they came from workers.”

RFK: “In 2020 you were the single largest receiver of pharmaceutical money.”

Sen Sanders: From workers all over this country, workers!

RFK jr: You were the single…

Sen Sanders: Workers, not a nickel from corporate PACS.

RFK: Bernie you were the single largest acceptor of pharmaceutical dollars.

Sen. Sanders: For workers in the industry

RFK: $1.5 Million dollars

Sen. Sanders: Yeah out of $200 million

  1. That’s funny ! Once again Boinie shows what a disingenuous D-Bag he is ! Remember when millionairs, and billionairs were all slimier than snail snot ? Then he became one ! Oh I forgot ” my wife wrote a book, it you want to be a millionair, write a book ! Dam I wish I could write with a Brooklyn accent ! That was so funny ! Ole Boinie should have been a comedian !

    • And writing books, with big cash advances is also the way they pay off politicians to do the bidding of the borg, much like budding young artist Hunter Biden getting 500k per painting……..much like the Clinton Foundation, which suddenly is no longer pulling in big money once they are out of power. If anything, we could probably cut our budgets in half by getting rid of kickbacks, bribes, PAC, NGO’s non-profits and the like being disguised political operatives. Vermont is full of that. We’ve got some clean up in Aisle 46…….might take awhile.

  2. Bernie is a greedy old fool. His usefulness is waning. He makes plenty of money from the climate worshippers and big pharma. He has fooled many with his false humility.

  3. Vermont’s barking buffoon, showing the world he’s just a BS artist, Vermont should hang its head in shame having the NY clown represent us……….. How pathetic !!

    • Kennedy pointed out that Bernie accepted $1.5 million from big pharma while running for president right after Bernie had been denying it. Then Bernie said it was just $1.5 million out of $200 million he took in as if that made it okay. He’s 82 and doesn’t have enough money yet. None of the Bernie Bros got anything while Bernie scored big in the DC politicians pot of gold. Both he and his wife scored big as Bernie appointed his wife head of his media campaign and she scored 15% kickbacks for all his media buys which is common in the big advertising game. Wonder what the Bernie Bros are hoping for now because Bernie got the mine and all his contributors got the shaft.

  4. Bernie is out to badger RFK Jr….in any way he can….BOOO Bernie….you are showing your true colors.

  5. There’s a reason that young Bernie got kicked out of the hippy commune. He’s a lying, grifting, jerk.

    • If you were to check out the satirical movie “The Free Lunch Express” about his meteoric rise from the lower middle class neighborhood in Brooklyn to the most recognized socialist in America, you will see that he left the commune because about the only contribution that he made to life there was his mouth ! Some things never change . If you’ve never seen this, what can I say ? I’m sure it’s way more factual than he’d admit to .

  6. I can’t believe you left out the discussion of the onsie!!!

Thankfully has shown the world what a tool and clown he truly is. How does paying big pharma, taking massive quantities of drugs, eating unhealthy food make us more healthy? How is it working in his home state?

We demand our food be organic in Vermont and our children drugged up and wards of the state for sexual and ideological experiments. Our children deserve to be treated with the minimum respect we give our misty knoll chickens.

Bernie showed his true colors on stage for the world to see, he is bought and paid for, he is a con of epic proportions.

    • Vermont is quite the contradiction, isn’t it? GMO labeling requirements on the one hand, eight Covid boosters on the other. Don’t forget your flu shot!

    • The puppet strings are showing now aren’t they? Reminds me of song from 1992 – when the headbangers heard the words of the prophets written on the studio wall.

      You take a mortal man
      And put him in control
      Watch him become a God
      Watch people’s heads a-roll

      Just like the pied piper
      Led rats through the streets
      We dance like marionettes
Swaying to the symphony of destruction

      Acting like a robot
      It’s metal brain corrodes
You try to take its pulse
      Before the head explodes

      The Earth starts to rumble
      World powers fall
      A warring for the heavens
      A peaceful man stands tall

  7. Elizabeth Warren takes in $5 million for her shilling and gnashing of teeth. It would behoove voters to look closely at who funds representatives and senators, State and Federal. The PAC money and their direct donations exposes who they actually represent – it certainly is not the People. AIPAC is another big one – a foreign country has bought a lot of influence and no one will dare speak of it or admit it. Yet, it is all disclosed in the documentation. Makes one wonder what is passed under the table to avoid detection – what is passed over the table simply isn’t enough I guess.

  8. Sen Sanders: “From workers all over this country, workers! Workers, not a nickel from corporate PACS. For workers in the industry”.
He got his three houses from the workers of this country. These hearings are exposing these Commiecrats for what they are FRAUDS. Vermont should be ashamed to have this guy as a U.S. Senator but it’s stoopid people that elect him to office.

  9. I was most impressed by proclamations (not necessarily from Bernie but others – I don’t remember all the details of who said what) that RKF Jr would be responsible for the health and well-being of every U.S. Citizen (because apparently we are too stupid to do our own research and make our own health care choices and need to be protected from “misinformation”), while RFK Jr.’s agenda is to create a system of individual responsibility and accountability, clean up corruption and conflicts of interest, and provide unbiased science-based research and recommendations. “Trust” came up during the hearing. I will never trust government again. It isn’t our duty to trust government, but to hold it accountable.

  10. Why didnt RFK ask each of the pro-“vax” senators when did they get their last COVID ™ booster?

    It shuts them up immediately.

  11. Sanders was spitting and a sputtering like a 20 year old chainsaw that sat in the woods all night, at 20 below, on starting it up…to cover her bringing up how much big pharma brought him for…he sure sounded like no Vermonter I ever knew, more like pure Brooklyn.

Throw the brought and paid for city slicker, masquerading as a Yankee bum… out!

  12. Bernie, Welch and balint are all servants of big pharma, se as Warren and many others. God forbid someone try and get all the chemicals out of the food chain and hold them accountable.

  13. HA….HA….HA…. Bernie got caught with his pants down by RFK jr.
To think that the Vt. democrats enabled him to enter the political scene some 40 + years ago, and he has used and played the democrats ever since. He claims to be an independent (which in his case is code for socialist/marxist) and he refuses to join the democrats. Bernie, you have milked the taxpayers long enough. Please step down.

    • I think it goes back to the dishonest media that protects these guys and gals. The next time you pick up a snack or some processed food, read the ingredients label if you can. They are all trying to kill us slowly while they make fake food with dangerous ingredients and we ignore it. I’m guilty myself.

  14. And of all people to question Kennedy, lying Dick Blumenthal, who professed to be a Vietnam vet, but wasn’t, was grilling Kennedy. What a disgusting person.

  15. Bernie has been outed. No surprise to me. Looked like he about to have a heart attack when hit with that comeback from Kennedy. He is done. Anyone who defends him now is a loser, delusional or both. Time to vote out the all the ultra-liberal rep/senators we have in Washington.
