Decker Towers drug bust

On the morning of June 19, at approximately 8:50 AM, the Burlington Police Department’s Emergency Response Unit executed a Vermont State search warrant at an apartment within Decker Towers, located at 230 St. Paul St. This operation, related to ongoing drug activity, was conducted with the assistance of the Vermont State Police Northern Drug Task Force.
During the search, authorities seized suspected illegal drugs and drug-related paraphernalia. William F. Robinson, 50, of Connecticut, was taken into custody by Burlington Police for multiple outstanding warrants.
Following the initial search, law enforcement personnel made contact with Walter Burbo, 55, of Burlington, VT, in a separate apartment within Decker Towers. Burbo was subsequently arrested on an outstanding drug-related warrant.
The Burlington Police Department extends its gratitude to the Vermont State Police and the Burlington Housing Authority for their assistance and collaboration throughout this investigation. The department emphasizes that such partnerships and proactive measures are crucial in enhancing the safety and security of all residents within the building.
Men injured by explosive in Fayston
The Vermont State Police is investigating an incident in which two men were injured by an explosive device in the town of Fayston. The incident occurred at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, in an outdoor area along Phen Basin Road. One injured man was transported by DHART to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, and the other was brought by ambulance to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. Their names are being withheld at this point in the investigation.

Burglary at Stone’s Auto Repair ends in arrest
In the early hours of June 20, at approximately 1:13 AM, Vermont State Troopers responded to a burglary in progress at Stone’s Auto Repair in East Fairfield. Upon arrival, officers found that a man had gained entry by smashing the front door glass with a sledgehammer.
The store owner, who was present and interacting with the man when Troopers arrived, identified the intruder as 31-year-old Derek Jettie, a local resident of Fairfield. Jettie had attempted to steal a significant quantity of cigarettes but was apprehended without further violence.
Following his arrest, Jettie was lodged at the Northwest State Correctional Facility on burglary charges, with bail set at $5,000 as per court orders.
Two rescued after falling off cliff
The Vermont State Police are investigating an incident in which two individuals were injured after falling from a cliff near the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail off South Main Street in St. Johnsbury. The fall occurred on June 16 around 11:20 PM.
The injured parties, identified as Ashley Becker, 32, and Alex Becker, 36, fell an estimated 25 to 30 feet near a homeless encampment. The cause of the fall is currently under investigation. Ashley sustained serious injuries, while Alex suffered critical injuries; both are reported to be in stable condition.
Troopers, along with CALEX, and the St. Johnsbury Police and Fire Departments, assisted in extricating the individuals from the base of the cliff to awaiting ambulances.
