Dr. Laura Edwards-Leeper, PhD, co-founder of the first U.S. gender clinic, declared Planned Parenthood’s youth gender care protocols as “substandard.”
Edwards-Leeper, a licensed clinical psychologist, specializes in working with gender diverse and transgender people of all ages. She also helped develop the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH) standards of care.
A recent Live Action article provides details of Edward-Leeper’s statements in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, screenshots of Planned Parenthood’s website regarding gender care, and patient testimonials.
According to Live Action’s analysis, Planned Parenthood’s standard of care is to provide hormone blockers and cross-sex hormones to youth who self-diagnose as transgender, often during the first visit, and without a psychological evaluation.
A self-diagnosing patient is eligible to receive hormones upon “informed consent,” in which Planned Parenthood provides the patient with information about the risks and benefits of treatment.
Edwards-Leeper’s young patients informed her that they received cross-sex hormones during their first 30-minute in-person or remote consultation with Planned Parenthood.
Live Action’s analysis claims that Planned Parenthood is the leading provider of hormones for young people in the United States.
The analysis also includes a two-and-a-half-minute recorded phone call between a Planned Parenthood employee (not in Vermont) and a 16-year-old female patient requesting an appointment to receive a prescription for testosterone, no parental consent required, captured during Live Action’s undercover investigation: Planned Parenthood Gave Her Testosterone at 16 — Paid For With Your Tax Dollars.
The Planned Parenthood website tells teens they might need hormones and/or surgery, warns that some doctors and nurses may be unsympathetic towards gender-affirming therapy,’ then assures them it can be found at their clinics.
On a page directed to teens, the PP website states: ‘”Accessing respectful health care can be challenging. Many transgender and nonbinary people experience discrimination and poor quality of care. Some nurses, doctors, and other medical workers aren’t sensitive to trans issues nor informed on transgender people’s health care needs……You deserve to be treated well and seen for who you are when you see a doctor or nurse. Know that the staff at your nearest Planned Parenthood health center believes you deserve high-quality, compassionate health care that’s appropriate for your needs — no matter your gender identity.”

PP needs to be completely eradicated, along with every trace of its demonic eugenicist racist founding and mission which emboldened the Nazis to practice the hell-borne atrocities it did.
PP gave a girl testosterone at 16 wo parents consent. Real doctors wont give a man testosterone unless they are deficient. PP has to go or just scrap the transgender care or abuse.
Whatever happened to the three letters from psychiatrists and or psychologists a person needed to get gender reassignment surgery approved through an insurance company? So you don’t need them any longer. They want to sterilize children (with reassignment and then reversal surgeries) and make as much money as possible while they do it. Planned parenthood is who hates children. These big hospitals that are doing these surgeries are told to do them because it’s lucrative and makes the hospitals $$$. If that hospital won’t do it, planned parenthood will.
If they would look at what Europe, England even Sweden has done to ban the use of these puberty blockers on minors until they have studied the full extent of these drugs to see what long term side effects people will be facing-I bet you they would find cancers or bone diseases like osteoporosis among other conditions including medical and mental health issues. You don’t mess around with large doses of synthetic hormones-look at that 29 year old biological female who shot and killed 9 year olds at that Christian School in Tennessee. She hated them for being Christians and she was hopped up on testosterone. What is planned parenthood doing-making future school shooters??
Renee, and readers of the replies, I owe you an apology.
I realize I misunderstood that Dr. Leeper does NOT work for PP, but another clinic which works with kids with gender dysphoria. Somehow, I thought at first that she was just with another PP facility, thus my comment about her misplaced compassion, and my analogy to the Nazis.
If she is truly and compassionately working with these kids to help them find their true identity and healing as God’s beloved children, and not to affirm or confirm them in their confusion and deception, God bless her.
Hi Martin, Edwards-Leeper helped establish so-called “gender-affirming care” standards for WPATH. She has a private practice working with gender confused people of all ages, including youth. She thinks PP is dispensing hormones without enough interaction with some young patients. Edwards-Leeper does not specifically help youth to embrace their God-given sex.

What advice do u have for me Renee? I was a substitute nurse in a few schools but told if I didn’t use a person’s pronoun, I would be immediately fired. I was asked a few years ago how would I feel about giving out condoms to middle school children and I said “NO”. I was asked what about std treatments without a parents consent and I said NO! NO! NO!
Children can now change their gender without a parents consent and I should just accept it??? NO!!
I’ve worked in many fields of nursing including surgery, women’s health research, dermatology and now for a time school nursing and I will always follow the rules of my license, my scope of practice and before I give any medication to a student I will make certain that I have the following: A letter from the parent regarding understanding of their child’s condition and what the planned medication is for to treat that condition. All side effects have been explained to the parents!!! A letter from the doctor explaining the condition and symptoms and side effects of the prescription medication is explained in the letter so nothing is missed while the child in on the medication along with a copy of the prescription for the medication. Then the parents need to get the prescription filled.
I will not risk loosing my license if this is not followed to the letter.
I know because I’ve seen the mental health issues children face every day what with them being taught blm, gender, climate change ideologies and they come into the nurses office every day just needing some kind words, some me time and I give it to them……that’s all of them, every day and they are not all trans confused-they are life confused and just want someone to listen to them. They hate the world because they don’t think it will be around much more than a few years so why put in any effort to change it.
They are being taught all these social issues and not basic reading and math-and you know I’m right because our Vermont test scores are terribly low yet we pay one of the highest price per pupil in the nation. I’ve seen teen suicide because of isolation too.
Do u think I should go back to working in the schools and risk getting fired if I don’t comply? Should I listen to the psychologists who think they know children better than what I have seen and done with them and that’s just making them happy that day and telling them to be happy-to think ahead of now-they are seniors but soon they will be away from here and on the road to their future plans and high school will just be a distant memory and to be happy with themselves and the future they have chosen whatever it is.
