Vermont’s largest abortion provider wants the 2025 Legislature to make up a projected $8.6 million, three-year shortfall.

Although not true with either the Biden administration or the State of Vermont, there is some truth to the gist of the complaint in other states and branches of the federal government. Across the Connecticut River, the State of New Hampshire and the State of Maine both have declined to fund Planned Parenthood.
Here in Vermont, where a former Planned Parenthood lobbyist is Speaker of the House and Gov. Phil Scott has signed virtually every pro-abortion and pro-transgender care bill in recent years, and voters in 2022 approved a constitutional amendment enshrining the right to abortion, it’s a different story. When the Trump administration cut out Planned Parenthood access to Title X family planning funds, the State of Vermont immediately picked up the tab.
Planned Parenthood can’t operate at full speed without help from the taxpayer, it argued in its 2024 candidate questionnaire:
“This mission is more expensive than ever before, and they cannot do it alone without state investment. PPNNE is facing a financial deficit totaling $8.6 million over the next three years, after already enduring three years of deficits.”
The Legislature is already facing 20% increases in health care insurance premiums, nursing and manpower shortages, an unprecedented housing and homelessness crisis, increasing property taxes, a multi-billion $$ bill for replacing aging school buildings, child care payroll taxes, proposed carbon reduction and flood mitigation expenditures, and demands by ‘social justice’ state offices like the Vermont Human Rights Commission and the Vermont Truth and Reconciliation Commission for increased staff and funding.
Planned Parenthood of Northern New England claims to provide comprehensive reproductive and sexual health care to more than 16,000 people in Vermont at seven health centers located in Burlington, Williston, St. Johnsbury, Barre, White River Junction, Rutland, and Brattleboro and virtually through telehealth.
Critics of ongoing funding for PPNNE in Vermont point to at least two reasons for their financial shortcomings: 1) at Planned Parenthood’s prompting, abortion pills are more available online than ever. Therefore, fewer women are seeking surgical abortions at one of the ‘health centers.’ Also, PPNE has spent considerable sums on a new computer system.

Reproductive health care is a constitutional right in Vermont thanks to the voters, so what does that mean for funding Planned Parenthood? Will be obligated to fund them? After all, dialysis treatments and other life saving measure are being cut, but your general health care is not a “constitutional right” – only abortion and trans care are!
Both Maine and New Hampshire dodged that bullet by voting down a similar constitutional amendment in their state legislatures…..
Owning guns are a Vermont Constitutional right also. Tell the State to meet me at the gun shop there’s a few I’d like them to purchase for me before they spend it all on abortions.
I suggest that Planned Parenthood concentrate on fund raising like most non-profit organizations. Several years ago I attempted to offer counselling for pregnancy prevention, esp. for teenagers. There was never any interest and I just stopped offering. I guess it was a “silly” idea on my part.
Let the funds for PP dry up as quickly as possible and have the satanic racist eugenicist organization go back to hell where it came from.
The insanity of their whining about losing money because they’ve found a different way to kill babies and injure women besides using sharp instruments and pliers to rip the babies apart alive or suck them to pieces in a vacuum machine, is beyond rational belief.
PP has literally tried to wash its hands of the blood and guts of tens of millions of babies, girls, and women by distancing itself from the unspeakable horrendous suffering of women and babies inside their abortuaries, and sending the women home to experience this hell in the privacy and comfort of their own bathrooms, bedrooms, dorm rooms, and motel rooms. And then they have the audacity to cry and beg for our tax money because dispensing chemical abortion pills is less lucrative than surgical abortions?
Unconscionable.
The devil will overplay his hand as the following article indicates when more and more women find their babies in their toilets and their limbs in their underwear after being assured that “it’s just pregnancy tissue.”

Let’s not forget that every one of those fetuses who is killed has parents whose lives are also being horribly injured and damaged, and yes, sometimes even killed by PP.
There are people with greater needs than killing a baby. Don’t want a child, then be Responsible. Buy birth control or if you have any, try some self-control, don’t have sex. We the people shouldn’t have to pay for your poor conduct.

PP is a 501c non-profit. Unless the legislature is giving money to all the non-profits, like pregnancy centers, then the taxpayers shouldn’t have to fund them. If they can’t rise their funds through donations, then they probably aren’t needed. Taxpayer money should never be used to fund non-profit business.

Vermont may have a constitutional right to an abortion, but it does not follow that abortionists have a constitutional right to taxpayer funding. Men killed 1 billion people in wars over all of human history; women killed 1.3 billion babies via abortion since 1980.

(New York Times) What was the DNC platform built upon and copious amounts of funding provided by? Planned Parenthood. Don’t forget the mobile abortion and sterilization clinincs parked at the DNC convention. Planned Parenthood wants taxpayer dollars to recoup their losses backing Harris and other Democrats who lost their seats.
