Pittsford woman died of gunshot to head, neck

Vermont State Police have identified the woman found dead early Wednesday morning in a Pittsford residence as Erica Bovey, 41, of Pittsford.

An autopsy performed Thursday at the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the head and neck. The manner of death remains under investigation and is listed as pending.

State police responded to a 911 call at approximately 2:10 a.m. Wednesday from a resident of a home on Hollister Quarry Road reporting that an individual had died. First responders arrived to find Bovey deceased. Police are treating the incident as a suspicious death. No one is in custody.

The Vermont State Police is continuing to investigate and urges anyone with information to contact the Rutland Barracks at 802-773-9101 or submit an anonymous tip online at vsp.vermont.gov/tipsubmit.

No further details have been released by police.

According to social media, Erica Bovey is a 1996 graduate of Pittsford High School. Hollister Quarry Road is listed as the home of Travis and Erica Bovey.

  1. It’s erroneous that this woman graduated from Pittsford (VT) High School There is no Pittsford High School and has not been one since 1961.

  2. Many unlawful dealings coming from that location and the associated business Boondock Motors over the years.
    If you ever need a tow and they’re your only option just walk.
