The Vermont Daily Chronicle will host a “Twitter/X spaces” with GOP chairman Paul Dame on Thursday, February 15 at 8:30 PM.
We want to hear your voice and see you on the spaces! For those of you who do not know what ‘spaces’ are, or how it works, VDC Social Media director Paul Bean says: “It is like a live, interactive podcast/radio show. Listeners on X will be able to chime in and ask questions. If you want to be able to participate in the spaces you need to have a Twitter (X) account. So please, create your Twitter account. It is not that hard. All you need is an email.”
The VTGOP chair has asked that we field questions for him before the spaces so your questions can be left here in the comments. Some listeners will have an opportunity to ask him live on the spaces. The spaces audio will be recorded and posted to YouTube.
We expect to have a respectful and reasonable exchange of ideas.
Here is the for the spaces:

Paul, as someone who came from the Ron Paul movement- you can’t really believe the pablum you e-mailed out to us for so-called “Martin L*ther K*ng day”? Even leaving aside the racial/60s BLM angle- MLK is on video seen calling for hundreds of billions of dollars to spent in the name of “racial Justice”. What is your libertarian based argument in support of MLK Jr and his ideology?
The Vermont Republican Party faces a significant challenge due to its alignment with extreme right-wing views, which are deeply unpopular in the state. This stance has led to a critical division within a party that is already a minority in a predominantly liberal-minded state. The party’s downfall can be attributed to several key factors:
1. Selection of Unelectable Candidates: The Vermont GOP has consistently chosen candidates who are not viable in the eyes of the majority of Vermont voters. This approach has alienated a substantial portion of the electorate.
2. Ineffective Messaging: The party’s communication strategy has failed to resonate with or address the concerns of most Vermont residents. This disconnect has further diminished the party’s appeal and relevance.
3. Disregard for Voter Preferences: By ignoring the liberal inclinations of the state’s voters, the Vermont Republicans have positioned themselves contrary to the public’s interests and priorities.
The consequences of these missteps are evident:
– The party is now vulnerable and at the mercy of the elected officials who represent the views it opposed.
– The Vermont GOP’s influence on national presidential elections is negligible, rendering its support for controversial figures like Trump counterproductive.
– Candidates aligning with Trump’s ideology, such as Malloy, have experienced resounding defeats, mirroring the performance of other like-minded candidates.
– In the event of a Trump presidency, the Vermont supermajority, bolstered by the electorate’s liberal stance, is poised to counteract any policy he implements.
To regain relevance and impact, the Vermont Republican Party must:
– Refocus its efforts on issues and policies that resonate with the majority of Vermonters.
– Understand that without aligning with the preferences of the state’s electorate, the party risks becoming entirely irrelevant.
– Prioritize getting elected and earning the support of the majority over maintaining a rigid and unpopular stance.
The party must choose to either stand for something meaningful to the majority of Vermont’s voters or risk standing for nothing and losing its place in the state’s political landscape.
What you are asking for is to bend the knee to a population who has largely been brainwashed by higher education which is driven by international entities to abandon the US Constitution, individual rights, free speech, and religious and political plurality. All to be replaced by the United Nations Sustainable Development agenda. This agenda even has a new financial metric called Environmental, Social and Governence. This new system is not a free market system and is mirrored after the CCPs form of capitalism and will be accompanied by central bank digital currency and social credit scores.
US public school children are currently being indoctrinated into serving and fulfilling the UN agenda. The agenda includes global citizenship, migration not immigration, Gender Affirming Care for children which ultimately will sterilize them and an economic and political system where outcomes are made equal. In combination, this new economic, social and political system amounts to the creation of an eco-commu-fascist state where the government with other stakeholders (UN and World Economic Forum stakeholders including the media) manages all aspects of society and the public narrative to control them.
Thanks but no thanks.
I’m glad you’re sitting back and enjoying this. Keep in mind people need to get elected to affect change.
It’s obvious that most of the people here haven’t figure out;
VTGOP has little credibility outside this echo chamber,
VTGOP messaging and tone is alienating and adds to lack of credibility,
Focused on fighting one another over crumbs,
Grassroots more closely resembles crabgrass roots.
Enjoy the ride and the show, your kids will thank you.
Pretend that you are a GOP candidate for the House or Senate and read what you typed aloud. Do you think that ordinary citizens will agree with this? Do you think that someone with a college education is going to see your viewpoint when you called them brainwashed and insinuate, “actually, I’m the smart one here.” This is what Tom is talking about. This is why I come here, because until the GOP comes back from reality, this state is going to get pushed further to the left.
Many Americans by the way would take a social credit scores based on citizenship than a credit score which is based on my ability to consume by the way. Especially the kids who are rightfully disenfranchised with a system that they are not a part of. Capitalism isn’t working for them and all the GOP is offering is more of the same.
The GOP was at its apex when it wanted tax cuts, lazy people to work and the trains run on time. Then it made a deal with the religious right and here we are, viewing in real time what it looks like to have sold out your principles for power.
One need not sell their soul, perhaps speaking the truth and avoiding the trigger word traps would do wonders.
People are concerned about the environment. That is something we can all agree upon.
One side offers to take all your money, instill fear and lies and says it will be alright if you do what we say.
Another side offers nothing.
So we fight and we all loose. Every “issue” is framed this way. And the leaders only offer two solutions, the two solutions keep us fighting and achieving nothing….which is their goal.
Want to reach across all parties. Make growing food in Vermont a sovereign right. Promote heritage seed and breeds. Promote farm to table. This goes against the grain of the NWO trying to control all food production, which is the true enemy and the true ruler of Vermont.
The Vermont Dems are pretty easy to trip up, they have only one game plan and it can NEVER vary.
The biggest fear of the uniparty is neighbor loving neighbor, is people talking to each other civilly.
I find it interesting that you do not address any of my concerns. As this is reflects the current political agenda. Here is my solution:
– Schools need to teach children to read and write, as of now tax dollars are funding a political education.
– Our communities need to include inclusive views and solutions that represent all taxpayers
– The issue of climate change needs to be brought back to the table and science presented to the community to discuss the pros and cons of the solution, as all Vermonts seek to protect the planet. The citizentry of this state was never given this opportunity. The decision was made for them by an international organization with a political agenda, which pays our legislation to implement its agenda.
– Migration needs to be discussed in a transparent way. Many countries are facing a population collapse. This issue was predicted by the United Nations, as it tracks global birth rates by country. The UN put a document out in 2021 about replacement migration being the solution to aging and declining populations. This does explain the current migration policy of the Biden Administration. I work in federal contracting and migration, not immigration, is a key reporting requirement in many federal acquisitions. If this is to be the solution, then the solution should be discussed and vetted by the citizentry of this country, including Vermont. Therefore, as a Republican I support transparency and open debate.
– Economics: How can Vermonters, who are not financially sound themselves, financially support (housing, food, medical care) for the “New Americans.” What is the financial responsibility of Americans? How will Vermonters be impacted? Add to this ramped inflation, school budgets and carbon taxes as pass through charges to oil customers. All players need to come back to the table to discuss and compromise on these objectives.
All of these questions and many more need to be brought to the table and discussed transparently and honestly. All citizens, political factions and demographics need to be represented to determine the most economicily viable and humain way to address these issues. For example, green policies were introduced in Shri Lanka, which resulted in an economic decline of 30 percent of its GDP and a reduced farm yield, which resulted in civil unrest and starvation.
Why isn’t this threat being discussed as a lesson learned?
Gerald Malloy is electable….. Malloy is the answer. DeployMalloy.com
This is all very interesting.
Arguing usually is a sign of pride…I”m right and your wrong.
Both sides can be correct
Both sides can be wrong
All at the same time, on the same topic.
The ultimate play is to create division, destruction through lies and an evil spirit.
This is clearly on display within the VTGOP and Across the general land scape of Vermont.
VTGOP has no credibility with nobody but themselves, displaying an extreme display of pride for all too see.
Most Vermonters know well that Red Meat Republicans will not do well,
You can take any issue, any issue that is divisive, any issue that is prominent in Vermont. And if you use the correct words, ask/display the correct actions you will garner the majority vote without much effort.
Some topics that cut cross all parties.
1) Affordability.
2) Schools, on many, many levels
3) Drug problems
Of course, if you don’t change, you’ll never get different results. Most have no idea who is running the show in Vermont, what type of spirit has control upon our state. We don’t even know ourselves; we are so full of pride, we play God. Hell, we put it on our license plates….Vermont Strong. Nobody in politics could possibly be wrong, could possibly do anything different or better. And here we are.
If you don’t know yourself, if you don’t know your enemy you are destined for epic failure, to which we march blissfully ignoring, Pride goeth before the fall…..meaning pride will lead you right over the cliff.
Without a change we are doomed to our current course.
