ENOSBURGH – A 16-year-old gang-affiliated offender, who police say is wanted for a New York City homicide and is a person of interest in two homicides investigations in Burlington last year, was arrested at a home in Enosburgh on Friday evening, authorities said.

Christian Concepcion was identified on Saturday as the defendant lodged by the U.S. Marshals Service at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility in Rutland on Friday night, a corrections spokesperson said.

Concepcion, whose name was initially withheld, remained at the prison with no bail on Saturday.

It was unknown if, and when, Concepcion will have a hearing in federal court in Vermont before he is returned to New York to face the state charge.

He was taken into custody by a massive law enforcement presence of federal, state, county and local police that surrounded a house on Howard Road in Enosburgh, officials said.

The homicide in New York City involved a robbery at a marijuana dispensary with the employee getting shot, a spokesman said.

The teen had a link to a homicide investigation in Burlington in April 2023 and also had a possible connection to another homicide in Burlington in November 2023, police said.

Burlington Police officers were at the Enosburgh home on the dead end road and appeared to be seeking a search warrant on Friday night.

Burlington Police Chief Jon Murad did not respond to requests by text or phone seeking an interview Friday evening or Saturday. It was unknown if BPD has made any progress on the two cases.

The suspect has been floating between Burlington, Enosburgh and New York City for months, the U.S. Marshals Service said.

The Marshals Service, which is the primary fugitive tracking agency in the nation, has been searching for leads in Vermont, officials said.

The Marshals Service in Vermont said it got a recent lead the murder suspect might be in the Enosburgh area. Investigators flooded the Franklin County community starting late Friday morning. By early afternoon they heard the teen was hiding at a home on Howard Road and tightened their dragnet, officials said.

Investigation confirmed the suspect was hiding in the basement and he initially refused to come out, police said.

With an estimated 50 to 60 law enforcement officers in the area, the house was surrounded and the suspect realized it was best to surrender about 6 p.m.

The Vermont State Police special teams including its SWAT team, also known as its tactical services unit, and the bomb squad, provided technical assistance. A police K-9, a drone, an armored vehicle, and a helicopter were also brought in.

  1. wow/// another tourist from new york city//// just another day at the vermont zoo///

  2. Great that he is an underage Ute so we never get to ID him providing another opportunity to prey on the people of VT.

These youngsters , as we all know and have been told , have underdeveloped brains making them not capable or responsible in any wrongdoing.— more than capable for some reason to vote in some jurisdictions…puzzling With any luck ( none needed ) no bail will be requested nor required and he will be remanded to the custody of the slime from which he emerged.

I have sense he may revisit VT at some time in the future recognizing how many sheep we have. Vermont used to be known as a dairy state with many cows supporting this. Now we have moved on to sheep.

Fortunately , in Vermont and it’s legalized system as employed has no shortage of them with replacements readily available.

    • …smart and mature enough to vote at 16, but not responsible enough to understand the consequences of their actions, so cant be held responsible for crimes until their brains are fully developed at 26…that’s liberal logic.

  3. Just another harmless, likely-redeemable but yet misunderstood yoot. We need to focus on the root causes of this behavior and the likelihood of a rough upbringing being at fault. The associated deaths in his wake are simply the unfortunate collateral damage in the oppressive, colonialist war on drugs.

    • And to think that a bleeding heart social worker, a therapy dog, a cuddly teddy bear, and a supply of coloring books and crayons could have steered this poor young man from taking so many wrong paths…will it be too late to gift him on his release date?

  4. Where’s his high school yearbook picture? He was a good boy, a very good boy.

  5. Reports coming out of NYC, Michigan, LA, etc. is the “new arrivals” are reuniting and getting their bands back together. Different factions of different “clubs” from different Central/South American regions, not to mention the brotherhoods of Middle Eastern/African regions. They are being equipped with money, phones, ammo, guns, and free transporation. They are branching out into our communities. They know where untapped resources of money and guns are, so they will come for all of it as they are in Michigan reportedly. One interesting story told of American gang members are battling with the new arrival clubs – the irony of American gangs defending their American soil – what a concept eh?

  6. Who would have ever thought that Franklin County Vermont would ever play host to such human scum…but who would have ever thought that a Jew in America would have to fear wearing a Yarmulke or Star of David in public or that we would have a presidential campaign without a single debate??? If you like the current state of affairs, thank a democrat voter.

  7. It’s nice to see entrepreneurs embrace their future at such an early age! I am proud to live in a State that has cultivated this behavior!
