Vermont Police reported several crimes committed and arrests made over the weekend.
RICHFORD — In the early morning hours of June 7, Vermont State Police from the St. Albans Barracks responded to an alarm at North Country Federal Credit Union on Main Street in Richford. Security footage showed a male suspect forcing entry through two sets of doors and stealing from the coin area. With assistance from U.S. Border Patrol and the Richford Fire Department, troopers secured the building.
Later that day, troopers located the suspect, identified as Raven Hendrix, 24, of Richford, asleep in a car just two houses down from the scene. Hendrix was arrested for burglary, processed, and lodged at the Northwest State Correctional Facility due to lack of $500 bail. He was also issued a citation related to an unrelated outstanding warrant.
WILLIAMSTOWN — On June 7, troopers from the Berlin Barracks and the Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit arrested Johnathan Scott, 43, of Williamstown, for allegedly setting fire to a residence on Lyford Lane. Authorities say the fire was intentionally set. Scott was processed, issued conditions of release, and transported to the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility. He is scheduled to appear in Orange County Superior Court on June 9 to face a charge of first-degree arson.
BARNET — A domestic incident involving a vehicle led to the arrest of Andrew Baird, 25, of Barnet, on June 5. Troopers responded to a residence on Anderson Street shortly after 11:00 p.m. where two individuals reported being struck by a truck operated by Baird. The victims had visible injuries but declined medical attention. Police say Baird violated conditions of release, drove with a criminally suspended license, and assaulted two family members. He was taken into custody and lodged without bail at the Northeast Regional Correctional Complex.
WINDSOR — On June 6, the Vermont Drug Task Force arrested Joshua J. Morse, 35, of Windsor, following a months-long narcotics investigation. Morse is accused of selling cocaine on two separate occasions. Although he is already incarcerated on unrelated charges, Morse has now been cited to appear in Windsor County Superior Court on July 1.
ST. JOHNSBURY — Lisa Akey, 41, of Bradford was arrested May 15 in connection with the disappearance of 43-year-old Corey Crooker earlier this year. During booking at the Northeast Correctional Complex, correctional officers found fentanyl on her person. Akey now faces multiple charges including trafficking fentanyl, bringing drugs into a detention facility, and providing false information to police. She is scheduled to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on July 14.
PANTON — Vermont State Police have charged Matthew Porcaro, 38, of Vergennes, with multiple counts of petit larceny and unlawful trespass following a string of vehicle break-ins during the early morning of June 3. Porcaro allegedly entered four cars on VT-22A and stole items from two. He was cited to appear in Addison County Superior Court on July 28.
