Join Paul and Guy on Friday at Four today at 4 PM via YouTube, Facebook and X to learn more about the startling new cost estimates for the Legislature’s Clean Heat Standard.

As reported today in the Vermont Daily Chronicle, a report commissioned by the State of Vermont indicates that the cost of implementing the Clean Heat Standard could cost $4 dollars per gallon MORE than you’re paying now for heating fuel.

That means an added cost of about $1000 per fill up of a 250 gallon heating fuel tank that right now already costs $1000 to fill.

Furthermore, the report projects total costs of implementing a Clean Heat Standard at about $9.6 billion. The report also claims a total benefit of $11.7 billion, for a claimed $2.1 billion benefit.

We’ll work through all of these numbers on Friday at Four with Matt Cota, former president of the Vermont Fuel Dealers.

  1. Posted this on a similar VDC article, same substance:

Ah what to heck, it’s only money. The tax paying resident is Montpelier’s bank and they can charge any interest (tax) on anything at any time. Population under the golden dome is 180, state population (2024) is 647,818. 0.028% controls the population of Vermont. Huge imbalance and they vote their own salaries, and increased it. Lousy choice forced by the 0.028%. Welcome to Vermont says the Montpelier kingdom to their serfs and subjects. The court jester is P. Scott mainly for entertainment. The real world in Vermont. Point being they want to tax you to freeze or move to warmer states, others will buy the empty properties and the continuation goes on. Vermont, the green money state. MVRA (Make Vermont Real Again)
