The following letter has been sent to supporters for Vermont’s newest pregnancy resource center, which opened in Morristown this spring.

On behalf of Lamoille Valley Pregnancy Resource Center, we want to extend a heartfelt Thank you! We could not have opened these doors and come as far as we have without you. You have provided the financial and spiritual support we have needed to answer this call to service. Your prayers and your passion for and belief in this life-saving mission are absolutely vital and so deeply appreciated, and we are honored to partner in ministry with you everyday!

Suffice it to say, this has been a year unlike any other. But one thing has not changed: there are women at this very moment who have just found out they are pregnant. There are men finding out that they are fathers; some for the first time. For many of these parents, this isn’t good news.

Recently, a young woman named Mary came to the center for a free pregnancy test. As the pink line on the test appeared, Mary was afraid and began to cry. After the tears stopped and her breathing slowed, the first thing she said was, “I am really gonna need your services.”

There are many women just like her. They think they have nowhere to turn and desperately seek abortion thinking it is their only option. They need compassion, hope, and help from our center, just like Mary did.

Some believe that abortion is the easiest answer. Maybe the only answer. Some believe they are not mentally or emotionally strong enough to carry their baby to term. Others believe that bringing their baby into this world is selfish, especially during difficult times like these. These are some of the heartbreaking things we hear in the counseling room.

Despite the chaos in the world and in their lives, one thing never changes: God’s love for these parents and their children.

As we prepare to celebrate the Christmas season, and we think of Mary and her baby, Jesus, please remember the Mary who came to our center, fearful and looking for help. Please remember all the women and families in our community who have a weight on their shoulders that they cannot bear alone.

We are so grateful for and need your continued partnering with us to be able to provide the support and encouragement they need. We are here and equipped and fighting—not just for life—but for abundant life. We boldly share with our clients the truth and the gospel and, with God’s help, save lives. Not just the lives of the unborn, but the lives of their parents as well.
