Murray and Gervais: Republicans, your voice matters

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

by Joe Gervais and August Murray

On Saturday, August 16, the State Committee will meet to discuss the future of the Vermont GOP, including proposed changes to our party rules. Some of the key agenda items include:

  • Rule changes affecting how we elect statewide party officers—possibly moving from our traditional voting method toward something like ranked-choice voting.
  • A proposed shift in authority that would give the State Chair control over nominating Presidential Electors—removing that role from local towns.

Then in September, the party reorganization begins at the town level, leading to a new State Committee and new leadership elected in November.

We’re not here to rubber-stamp decisions from the top. We’re here to represent you—and that starts with listening:

  • What direction should the Vermont GOP be heading?
  • Should towns and counties lose authorities to the State Chair?
  • What’s working—and where are we falling short as a party?
  • What changes would you like to see in the VTGOP?

Whether you’re a committee member, candidate, or just a freedom-loving Vermonter who wants a stronger, more accountable party—we want to hear from you.

Save the Date: Sat., August 16 at 10:00 AM
📍Capitol City Grange – 6612 VT-12, Berlin, VT 05602

Speak up. Attend the meeting. Share your thoughts. Email us directly at: joegervais@pm.me and augustmurray.vt@gmail.com.

Together, we can build a stronger Republican Party for Vermont.

  1. For now I’ll take a pass. The never Trump and other RINO attitudes pushed me to Independent.

    • Sadly, I share your sentiments John. I am still a registered Republican, but the RINOs in the VTGOP have made it difficult for me to remain involved. I may attend this mtg. just to listen and observe.

    • John I agree with you 100%…
The republican party in the state of Vermont has been selling out real republicans for years and it’s time to put an end to it…

Joe Benning made the statement years ago that there are Trump republicans and Scott republicans and in the state of Vermont we are Scott republicans… Somebody please pinch me because I want to know when Scott became a republican…

We are thinking of forming the Trump party in the state of Vermont and allowing people that support the best President in recent history to have real input into republican party in the state of Vermont.

It’s amazing that we have web pages by the Different committees of the Republican Party but if you attempt to put the truth on those pages you are immediately blocked or what you posted is taken down from the site… There is nothing more disgusting than the denial of free speech….

The truth isn’t always pretty but it’s still the truth…

I am so sick of hearing you have to vote for him because he has an R beside his name…

I am so disgusted with Patti McCoy and the rest Of the TRAITORS the republican party that called for the removal of Donald Trump from office early that I could scream.

You name these people on a website they remove you and stop you from posting….

I am a member of the Clarendon Republican Committee and have not been allowed to post on their webpage for years now for telling the truth about a candidate that was lying to everyone…. How shameful of the supposed republicans in the Clarendon republican committee…

Since when do republicans violate the first amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America….

If anyone is afraid of the truth or denies the truth they don’t belong in office under the golden dome in Montpellier, Vermont

It’s time to stand up and fight for president Trump’s movement to restore America to A country that is safe and affordable again..

At some point common sense has to prevail….

    • Please come back. We need your help. We cannot make positive changes in Vermont without you.

    • Gail, please come to the meeting. I appreciate your comments on VDC. Would love to meet you.

  2. A suggestion: Can we ask candidates to list laws/regulations they’d seek to repeal? …can we ask candidates to add impact auditing and sunset expiration dates to all laws proposed?

    • These are good ideas. We have to keep in mind with the current imbalance in the legislature, numerous Republicans put forward bills to repeal the clean heat standard, repeal the renewable energy standard or redefine it to a clean energy standard that included nuclear power, repeal the global warming solutions act, and none of these bills got out of the democratic led committees in the house and senate.

  3. Ranked choice voting…are you out of your collective minds?!?
    Are you guys DNC plants?
Please define exactly what you have in mind.
I’d like to share your proposal with the RNC if you don’t mind.
Share this as a comment to my post so all the readers can see what you have in mind.

    • William, thanks for your message — I want to be crystal clear:
I do not support any rules changes that would:
      • Undermine traditional voting methods in our party elections, or
      • Remove the authority of towns to caucus and elect their own Presidential Electors.

In fact, that’s exactly why Joe Gervais and I are speaking up, making members aware, and asking for input from grassroots Republicans. Two proposals introduced by the current State Chair will be up for discussion at the August 16th VTGOP State Committee meeting. We’re deeply concerned about the implications and do not believe they should get a rubber stamp.

Our goal is simple: make sure members know important changes are being considered and are heard before a vote takes place.

And yes, you’re welcome to post this comment so others can see it too. I stand for transparency and accountability. Let’s fight together to keep the Vermont GOP rooted in local control, common sense, and the values that built this party.

      —August Murray

    • It does reek of DNC plant…..ranked choice voting, taking power from the local?

    • Thank you William. It seems to be becoming more and more confusing. Thus, all the more reason I plan to attend the meeting on Saturday.

  4. With all respect to Joe Gervais and August Murray there is no Republican Party in Vermont. There is a Uni-Party in Vermont aided and abated by King Philip the Scott 1st Eunuch King of Castrati and Paul Dame, Never Trumpers. President Trump with the Make America Great Again agenda is the REAL Republican Party. He made the Republican Party the party of the working middle class everyday people who work too hard to go out and protest things every chance they get. To me there are only two political sides, Progressives aka Communists and Patriots.

If you ain’t MAGA the you ain’t SH!+.

    • The likes of Paul Dame and the other never Trumpers will have to die before any changes will be made. The Younger folks get it, Scott manages to get it about 50% of the time on a good day. Neil has got the right idea, I hope it takes root. We have squandered at least 20 good years by sticking to philosophies that do not work, and as such bringing out the old divider whip to keep that divisional concept alive. I would think by n ow there would be enough results of those failed attempts to get the attention of everyone, and quickly get on course. I am not holding my breath, however.
MAGA lives in this house too.

  5. This is TOO funny.

So, President Trump, before he was president held a meet and greet at the Flynn theatre, there was a line a mile long of people peacefully waiting to see him. Outside looked like Beruit, with protests and yelling, people trying to reserve tickets so nobody could go see him. (isn’t that a fascist tactic?).

That was the biggest Republican event in what 50 years?

    Think about this.

Hold a fundraiser meet and greet for Governor Scott.
Hold a fundraiser, meet and greet with our President Donald Trump.

Look at your crowds and money raised, compare and contrast, head in the direction the people of the VTGOP choose.

You can only hide the lies for so long, you won’t even invite the President to Vermont, why don’t you ask the winner of the GOP what he would like to see in Vermont?

President Trump coming to Vermont would be the biggest political event in the history of Vermont. You guys won’t even invite him much less support him.

Hope you enjoy having the most popular governor, supported by more Marxists than any other governor in the United States! Overwhelmingly supported by the uniparty.

May you enjoy being losers, broke and clueless. Cheers!

  6. Start a fundraiser, anyone supporting our president for $1 or $5 can come to an event in Vermont with our President there. Do it on a presale basis, if you can’t raise $40,000 then don’t hold the event.

You would have the largest fundraiser in VTGOP history, by small voters. You would have a list of voters who get the following: we are a Republic, not a democracy. We are America, not the first colony of the United Nations. We are a state, we are not puppets for NGO’s, for corporations, for lobbyists to plunder and rape on a regular basis.

With these attendees you will have the most active, informed, engaged citizens the VTGOP has ever experienced. You will start winning!

You will have to give up control of power and money. Uniparty never gives up power and control without a knock down drag out fight, in the streets, in the courts, in the rule’s changes. But from your brief statements it seems you are heading in the consolidation of power and control, may want to change, like our first president.

George Washington gave up power for the first time in modern history to let freedom ring and prosper in our country, like no other place on earth.

Those in power under the Vermont golden dome, do not want things to change. You have to choose which side you are on, change or status quo. Ask the 10 people who set the agenda for every Vermont legislative session who they don’t want in office and who they do. Do the opposite, protect, defend and stand up for our Republic and Vermont Constitution.

  7. AFFORDABILITY
    SCHOOL FUNDING/GOVERNANCE
    DRUGS AND CRIME

These 3 metrics have only gotten worse; they cut across all party lines. These 3 topics are caused by us being a first colony of the United Nations, you will own nothing and be happy, marxism thought and rule.

Marxism seeks to get in and control, to skim profits of all the workers and companies, they want economic control for control, it’s the root power of cancel culture. It is never affordable in marxist ruled countries.

Marxism seeks to educate/indoctrinate an entire generation, we’re three generations deep. A simple question to our elected leaders, students and people under the age of 60 with the following question will yield surprising results. Are we a Republic or Democracy? Compare and contrast, why is it we are supposed to be__________? It is also an economic burden along with brain drain.

Marxism loves drugs and crime, with an unstable populace sold on the lies that crime and drugs are the answers to life’s problems, you become unstable, easily controlled. Throw in a concerted effort to confuse the populace about their sexuality and the role of sex in relationships and you can destroy the basic glue of families. It was no “coincidence” that during the lock down, interfamilial porn instantly appeared on all the porn sites, just like drag queen story hour happened across the usa with in a month, there is massive coordination and “organizing” to pull this kind of stuff off. Organizers are marxist tools.

Don’t believe me, listen to the man who ran the campaigns, see video below. Vermont has been subverted, we need to bring back our Republic.

  8. If you are not at all versed with the following books and teachings, you are not prepared, likely you cannot see the problem and what is going on around you, therefore one cannot propose a solution. Some great reads, readers I’m sure can suggest many others.

NIV Life Application Study Bible, At the very least the Book of John, Acts.
    Sheryl Atkisson, The Smear
Sun Tzu, The Art of War
    Saul Alinsky, Rules for Radicals
    The video above.
Charlotte Iserbyt, the deliberate dumbing down of america

One shows the way, the others lead to examples of where man thinks he knows everything, if full of pride and wants to be God to the people.

May we find the way, to truth and love, TGBTG.

  9. Gents (I think),
I’m, still waiting for your reply on your take on Rank Choice voting.
Your silence, thus far, speaks 1000 words and bodes ill for trust from us.
I’m going to forward this to my contacts at Fox, Newsmax and the RNC and we’ll see your reply to their questions..

    • Dr. August Murray answered you, above. He and Joe Gervais are NOT the ones introducing a rules change that is ultimately ranked choice voting. The GOP State Chair and rules committee worked on this proposed rule change.

  10. We would love to attend but our Shelburne/Charlotte GOP committee peeps are tending to our Town Committee GOP booth at Shelburne Day which runs from 9AM to 2PM Saturday August 16.

  11. 1) I would vote “no” on both proposals (if I could make it there):

    – Rule changes affecting how we elect statewide party officers—possibly moving from our traditional voting method toward something like ranked-choice voting.
    – A proposed shift in authority that would give the State Chair control over nominating Presidential Electors—removing that role from local towns.

    2) I also would like our state committee to support President Trump!
