Washington County GOP seeks riders in the parade
July 3rd is the Capital City’s largest festival of the year – a national holiday celebrated in a uniquely Montpelier way. Enjoy family-friendly activities happening downtown throughout the day.
The fun begins at 3pm with the July 3rd Food Truck Festival and FamilyFest on the State House Lawn. After the FamilyFest, the Montpelier Mile Road Race begins at 6 PM and kicks-off the Community Parade. After enjoying the parade, join us on the State House Lawn for live music and more fun. The night is capped off by an epic fireworks show!
Washington County Republicans reported to VDC that they received a warm and enthusiastic welcome during their parade appearance in Waterbury over the weekend, and are looking for people to ride the GOP truck in the Montpelier parade.
Organizers said they saw “more thumbs up, American flags, and patriot attire than we’ve ever seen,” as their entry rolled through town.
Building on that momentum, the group is inviting fellow Republicans to join them in Montpelier on Wednesday, July 3. Participants are asked to gather at the Department of Labor parking lot at 4 PM sharp, where they’ll hop into the parade truck and head to the lineup on Spring Street. The parade is expected to start moving around 6 PM.
