McLeod: Vote Rodgers because supports Guv. Scott and Vermont traditions

There are sharp distinctions between the Progressive Democrat Lt. Governor David Zuckerman and his challenger, a former longtime legislator, Republican John Rodgers.

Rodgers left the Democratic Party this year and joined the Republican Party, because of runaway tax and spending passed by the Progressive Democratic Super Majority of legislators and their disregard for those of us who think differently than them. Recent Super Majority tax and spend laws include a $100 million payroll tax, a property tax increase of 14%, increases on a wide assortment of taxes and fees, and pending huge taxes on Vermonters who heat with oil or propane, up to $4 per gallon.  Sharp tax increases are likely not far behind for gasoline as part of the Super Majority’s march toward phasing out gas, oil, and propane.

Republican Governor Phil Scott issued a series of vetoes against these taxes and fees, but the Progressive Democrats defeated all the vetoes.  John wholeheartedly supports the Scott vetoes, and the Governor’s ongoing crusade against more and more taxation.

Governor Scott has endorsed John Rodgers for Lieutenant Governor.

While  Vermont’s traditional rural land uses such as farming, timber harvesting, hunting, fishing, and trapping are under attack by well-funded extremist organizations, we don’t know for certain where many legislators stand.

John not only supports Vermont’s traditional rural way of life, he lives it.  He farms the Rodgers Family 200-year-old farm in the Northeast Kingdom.  He harvests timber off the Rodgers land and trucks it to local timber mills.

He hunts, fishes; he snowmobiles and owns an ATV.  John’s perspective is under-represented among today’s elected state officials.  If you want a Lt. Governor who understands and values this traditional way of life, vote Rodgers.

I am 74 years old and a former Democratic Party legislator and have been involved in state government in other capacities over the years.  I am a native of Barre and currently live in Bolton.  I have known John Rodgers for more than 25 years.

Sincerely,

  1. Scott is a traitor to the Vt Republic, so no thank you, I’ll vote for somebody else. Oh, was I supposed to wear a mask while typing this? My apologies for not following the NWO pimps, I’m personally not a fan of you will own nothing and be happy, though Scott proudly told the world he was voting for that plan.

  2. Rodgers is the only logical choice in this race.

The alternative is a fraudulent, carpet-bagging taxpayer thieving lying fake farmer from Massachusetts.

    • And you will help Zuckerman, what happened to critical thinking? A Vermonter vs a trust fund procreative from Massachusetts. Nice going!

    • My two comments are to James and NOYB. Zuckerman is a progressive, trust fund wokester from Massachusetts. At least John Rogers has Vermont history and has left the party responsible for the mess we are in. Of course, you two guys have never been wrong, correct? You just voted for Zuckerman because Greg Thayer isn’t going to win. You both just cut off your nose to spite your face.

  3. A good sign of how weak and unstable a State has become is looking at the candidates running for and holding the highest offices. Low energy party line bobble-heads. The theater of the absurd continues unabated. Those who wish to make change under the Golden Thunder Dome, take a passive, let’s all get along and work together approach. Such an approach does not work when the opposition is blood money thirsty. They will take your passive approach and beat you over the head with it. The first caucus will cure your niceness or you will be benched, ignored, and censored for the enitre session. In other words, you’ll be ridden like a rented mule – just the same as the populace.

It appears to me there is no incentive to change course on either side of the fence. The Corporation and Regime will stand because no one has the will to repeal bad policies, table bad ideas, or cut spending. Their only purpose is to prop up the giant grift they all feed off daily. They do not represent the People, they represent the Corporation and foreign interests.

It also appears there is no incentive for decent, intelligent, ethical and moral people to run for office. As the saying goes, it’s hard to soar like an eagle when surrounded by vultures/turkeys/moonbats/mockingbirds – take your pick-they all fit. If you are not a bobble-head, do not apply. The two parties are in lockstep to keep the regime installed, steal and control every asset, and control every person according to the Master’s plan. Change is not coming – enjoy your chump change while it lasts.

  4. There is not one person who knows how anyone in Government will vote on any bill. To say they know how someone will vote is crapology. Even if you are close to them and went to bed with them. There are no signed documents for them to commit one way or the other and hold them to it. Government can do funny things to people when elected. People commenting or writing articles say a person will do this or that is BS. Besides the comments will not persuade anyone if they have a mind and do their own research and feel comfortable.
