Masked man robs vape store

An armed masked man walked into NEK Vapor in Lyndonville at 1:30 pm Sunday, displayed the weapon to the clerk, demanded money, and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. 

He was described as a white male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants, and white shoes. He left the store and got into a dark colored Subaru, which then headed north on Broad Street. 

No injuries were sustained during the robbery.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vermont State Police at 748-3111.

Hardware store fire – June 14 at 5:30 am, the Derby Line Fire Department responded to a Rte. 5 location and observed heavy smoke and fire in the attic of the True Value rental building. Fire suppression efforts were conducted, and the fire was extinguished. There were no reported injuries.  

The structure sustained extensive damage from fire, heat, smoke, and a portion of the structure’s roof had collapsed. An accurate damage estimate is not available.

 The cause of the fire is currently undetermined, and, at this time, the fire does not appear to be the result of a criminal act. 

Teenager ran off with boyfriend – The Vermont State Police are requesting assistance from the public in locating Kameryn Ball, a 17-year-old from Barton who was reported as a runaway by her parents on June 13.

According to the report, Ball is believed to have run away with her boyfriend, Santino Dimartino, 18, of Island Pond. As of the time of the report, troopers have been unable to locate either Ball or Dimartino.

Ball is described as a white female, approximately 5’6″ tall, weighing 120 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

The Vermont State Police are actively working to locate Ball and ensure her safety. Anyone with information that might assist investigators in locating her is urged to contact the Derby Barracks.

Gun shots in Montpelier – At 2:46 AM June 15, the Montpelier Police Department received a report of several gun shots in the area of Barre Street and Monsignor Crosby Avenue. Officers were nearby, heard the disturbance and were quickly on scene. They later located shell casings and a residence that had been struck. There were no reported injuries and no evidence of any injured persons was located.

  1. Why r the vast preponderance of violent crimes committed by males? Must be women’s fault. And to a couple of posters of VDC? That makes perfect sense. We may even be enlightened as to exactly how any time now………..
