I love Vermont and, frankly, all Vermonters have a critical decision to make: move forward or continue struggling. Will Vermonters consider, objectively, the candidates, the state of Vermont, and the opportunity in front of them? Vermont’s future is on the line.
We’ve seen 12 vetoes from our Governor overridden by the supermajority in 13 months. The banner on my socialist opponent’s X/Twitter account reads “the struggle continues”. Please think about that. Vermont is unaffordable, unsafe, and a place to leave – I’ve met 50,000 Vermonters, that’s reality in Vermont now. Struggling. And getting worse.
Those overrides delivered the 14% average property tax and many more burdens, like the estimated $17 billion taxpayer bill for Act 18, an additional carbon tax of $3.20/gallon, and lawsuits. My opponent has been a MOC 34 years. He has delivered little except false promises; self-fulfilling ‘the struggle continues’.
Vermont is in a fentanyl/crime crisis. All of Vermont. Please ask yourself what has the current administration, your Congressional delegation, or your supermajority state Legislature done about it? The answer is not good; enabling, supporting, ignoring. Remember when you looked forward to going to Burlington? Rutland, Brattleboro, Bennington, St Johnsbury, Springfield, on and on, are in trouble.
Every day I meet Vermonters 18-50 that are moving to NH, Tennessee, Texas, or Florida. Exodus, an ominous sign for Vermont’s future. Older Vermonters are truly struggling – yet Congress keeps running up the $35,000,000,000,000 debt, more than 120% of GDP, and Social Security becomes more insolvent. Vermont is not business friendly. To change that will take elected reps with business/work experience, not career politicians.
Career politicians have led us to this state. It’s not working for Vermont. What will work is balance, experience producing results, listening, and common sense solutions like the GET REAL platform.
We’ve seen the truth come out, the misleading, about President Biden’s capacities, back to the 2020 campaign and ‘the basement’. We have inflation from the 40-year high in 2022, it’s painful buying groceries. Wars now in Europe, the Middle East, and we’ve seen all 3 members of Vermont’s Congressional delegation skip the Israel PM’s recent visit, even with Americans held hostage 300 days by Hamas terrorists.
We’ve seen an assassination attempt. We saw a toning down of the angry rhetoric, but it has returned, on both sides – that is not productive and that surely is not Vermont.
Now is not the time to check out, put your head in the sand, or, as my Mom (RIP) used to say, cut your nose off to spite your face.
This past weekend I visited Cabot, Barre, Plainfield, and Ludlow. In Cabot I saw this glass and bought it as I took Latin and ‘carpe diem’ was my HS yearbook quote back in 1980.
Vermont does not have to struggle continuously. There’s an opportunity right in front of all Vermonters for themselves and the 14th star to shine bright. Seize the day.

Just out of curiosity, how do you believe Communist Seth Bongartz/Jonathan West newest initiative for their Obama/Biden “AFFIRMATIVELY FURTHERING FAIR HOUSING” “housing task force” program in once beautiful Manchester shall affect your Real Estate property values in the future, Mr. Malloy? Are you aware that Manchester already altered zoning as to accommodate these plans of social engineering – as if the plethora of drug crimes et al out of the already extant “affordable” housing areas in towns aren’t already giving many residents pause?
How about these two Communists and their comrade’s plans to bring in “Restorative Justice” to all of Bennington County in order to prevent NOT crime, but to prevent criminals from being held accountable for their crimes so that prisons can be ABOLISHED?? Bongartz is a shoe-in for state senate in Bennington & his socialist buddy is ridin’ his coattails to “diversify” Manchester just as Bennington was – into a tourist-barren, “safe” injection site locale replete with handcuffed police as opposed to handcuffed criminals — and where drugs and violent crime reign “free”, “free”, “free” — just like Bernie’s imaginary college tuitions & homes for all.
Here’s yet another family to add to your 18 – 50 demographic who saw the writing on the wall after our share of political protests & letter writing campaigns, etc. over the course of many years. You can’t fight City Hall or Communist VT City Councilors or a Super Majority of leftist legislators who truly don’t realize “1984” wasn’t an instruction manual.
Not sure who is going to be left to fund all these traitors to the Constitution’s policies, but that’s for them to worry about. And to Brian Cina who pompously dictated to his plebe constituents “Read My Lips, More New Taxes!” NOT. FROM. ME. YOU. MAOIST. Oh, and btw? That’s MY right to free speech, Cina!!! Oh, and my personal pronouns are: Democrat Legislators Are Azzes. Please address any & all responses with my “pronouns” as specified.

I agree with you, despite the fact that some in VT have awoken in order to be aggrieved by a higher tax rate, the vast majority still have ZERO clue about what is going down in Montpelier & in their own towns. Remember when Americans were shocked by the Jonestown massacre and how we couldn’t comprehend how so many could be so easily led?
Now we have approximately half of the entire US population voluntarily voting for the massacre of their own country, their society, & their way of life because they are led solely by a group of talking heads on digital devices telling them that Communism/Marxism/socialism/authoritarianism is the way to proceed. It’s simply astonishing.

What exactly do you love about Vermont? Not much apparently. And what exactly are you proposing? You provide a laundry list of complaints, but not one word about what you would do to address what you see as problematic. It seems that you visit this website to call people names as quoted above. The way to recognize a seriously unhappy, paranoid, low information, conspiracy lover is the guy or gal who cannot put forward a decent debate and uses inflammatory Rederic to shame his or her opponents. A liberal such as this person has no integrity and has been brainwashed by the liberal echo chamber where the talking points could be repeated by a parrot.
Remember, individual thought is not allowed by leftist ideologs, and their playbook is Rules for Radicals. The left believes that shaming and name calling will somehow make us all sad and mushy like them. “Mark” is quite amusing. The worldview this person has is straight from the current D/P party playbook and talking points. As Vermont moves toward a politburo run- marxist style of government this worldview “Mark” preaches becomes more common. Rhetoric such as this only furthers the division in Vermont, fueling further the “californication” of Vermont. As we acquiesce to the demands of the left, for more government, more regulation, more “programs” and the resulting taxation that must accompany these goals- there will soon come a day when even “Mark” wakes up and realizes there is no future here in Vermont- that “Mark” was just a willing rube in the marxist goals of his masters. Unyielding dedication to an unachievable ideology is well documented in history- and there was always a willing supply of “Marks” to worship at the altar of self-righteous indignation – until the “Marks” were no longer useful.
The solution is simple, Vermont started to slide when the dem liberals started taking over the formerly republican state of VT. It is obvious that to make Vermont my happy place again we need to remove ALL liberals (republican or democrat) and replace them with common sense conservative republicans. A very rare breed these days.
What I love about Vermont was the state I adopted decades ago where its motto “Freedom & Unity” were lived. What I love about Vermont now are the memories and what I hate about VT are the carpetbaggers who expressly came to this small state to enact a social-political experiment & alter all that once was Vermont and dramatically alter its landscape & culture based upon their own radical political ideologies rooted in Communism. As to my perspective’s “appeal”? Please state your scientific method in achieving your conclusion.
Where are your solutions?
Where is your financial disclosure? Are you another military/politician who made their money from the government and/or military industrial complex?
Where is your “real” business experience outside of the military industrial complex entities?
Says the verbal backer of Liam Madden, the non-republican, republican candidate for congress in 2022 who’s claim to fame was studying the sex life of plants. And furthermore, you won’t vote for Malloy anyway so why do you even care? What is your extensive background to question his qualifications to run for office? If you’re that concerned, I bet all of your questions could be answered with a little research.
You’ll have my family’ votes, but did you send this letter also to Vt. Digger? If not, you’re unfortunately only reaching a minority of Vermonters! Digger and Daily Chronicle are polar opposites as are MSNBC and FOX.

Unfortunately, as right as Mr. Malloy is there are too many people in Vermont that are too stupid to even realize they are living in a state rife with elected officials that are propagating the state affairs Mr. Malloy outlines. Why? Because the policies affecting the cities haven’t affected them yet. So, they keep voting for and electing the same people over and over and expecting things to get better. The definition of insanity illustrated.

Very interesting, still after a few years, the comment similarity. I was with True North Reports and commented often. Some commentators are with VDC commenting. I left TNR s nothing changed over the years, The republican party is the same today. Crap from Montpelier is the same. It was a lesson in nothing. Bfruce Parker was a great person, wrote two articles about me and property taxes, quite a fight.
The same exists today. I have great respect for the knowledge herein displayed. and would appreciate a face to face point of view exchanges. I’d supply the wine.
So here I am again,, same scenario. Great points, nnothing changes. I’d like to see MVRG Make Vermont Real Again, it will happen when those in power die of old age. i have land in VT since 1953 and on the dirt road, so many unknowns travel at dangerous speeds. I don’t know them or care. I have found far better humanistic places to live and enjoy life. Driven in the 49 continental states many times, 9 Canadian Providences many times, some 2 million miles plus and Europe with out a problem. So I know good places and honest friendly people. Montpelier sucks and has taken VT down into no-mans land. John Klar is a great writer, sorry he didn’t get to be governor and Meg Hanson Vice Governor, a great team.
Don’t know how much more of this mental same-o-same-o. Good commentators, wish all well. Doesn’t take much for reality to set in.
Logically, reversing decades of lawlessness, corruption, and treason won’t be solved at the ballot box this year. We see how that is playing out right now in Venezuala – the land we are turning into in short order.
I conclude it matters little who is sitting behind the Resolute desk – currently no one is sitting there that we can confirm. I conclude it matters little what promises are made by Congressional candidates or winners, by the time they arrive in DC, they represent something or someone else – not the People by any stretch. I also conclude from DC, to State Street, Montpelier, to your local city/town hall, there is very little courage or fortitude to do the right thing – only what suits the party line, the Geneva agenda, the global ponzi scheme – the mind virus that feeds the narratives and sheep as directed. I conclude we have reached the precipice, or at the very least a foot or so away. I don’t see one leader or candidate of any stripe speak the Truth – the hard Truth that People have to hear and prepare for. Americans are a forgiving bunch – if the overlords were to fall on their sword, turn from their wicked ways, and do the right thing – the Country and the State would turn around in a heartbeat. At this juncture, I simply don’t see or hear it. Prepare, fortify the homesteads best as one can and pray without ceasing.
The ballot box has been broken for long time. In fact, it is beyond repair.
