General Michael Flynn, former National Security Advisor to Donald Trump, will speak in a live Zoom appearance at 3 PM Saturday, August 3 at Ignite Church on South Brownell Road in Williston.
The live Zoom with Flynn will precede the screening of his documentary film ‘Flynn,’ which will air 4 PM. The film – without a Zoom call – also will be shown Sunday, August 4 at the VFW in Morrisville. Lt. Col. Ivan Raikman will provide a Q&A following both screenings. Tickets ($25) for both events can be purchased by clicking on the ads on the VDC homepage.
The film’s appearance in Vermont was arranged by Mark Coester of Westminster, the GOP candidate for the Vermont House who has been endorsed by Gen. Flynn.
VDC-TV’s Guy Page and Paul Bean interviewed Gen. Flynn last week on Friday at Four. Several takeaways from the interview –
- The political persecution that led to Flynn’s forced resignation as NSA came not only from the Obama national security team, but from within the Trump administration, Gen. Flynn said. The movie gets into that in detail.
- Gen. Flynn has a grudging admiration for Bernie Sanders. NOT for his socialist politics, but for his independent streak. He thinks Sanders as the Democratic nominee would have had more success than Hilary Clinton in the 2016 general election.
- He had deep New England roots (born and raised in Rhode Island, lived in Massachusetts, and visited Vermont to play college sports and ski at Mt. Mansfield).

A Conspiracy Theory:
Accountability for the security failures that occurred during the attempted Trump assassination last month, whether or not the blame ultimately falls on the Secret Service, State, or Local authorities, seems to me to be a smoke screen. The focus on mistakes that were made, and who made them, diverts attention from the elephant in the room, as articulated by Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer in January 2017 when Trump was first elected.
“Let me tell you,” Schumer said, “…you take on the intelligence community — they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you. So, even for a practical supposedly hard-nosed businessman, he’s being really dumb to do this. From what I am told, they are very upset with how he has treated them and talked about them.”
Keep in mind, this somewhat veiled threat was made in relation to Trump criticizing the intelligence community charge that Russia hacked the election in favor of Trump. And since then – what have we learned?
To start with, the Clinton presidential campaign claimed the election was stolen, that Trump’s presidency was ‘illegitimate’, while it concocted and paid for the now infamous Steele Dossier that has since been proven to be false allegations.
And Trump’s charges of a stolen election were consistently characterized by MSM as ‘unfounded’. Meanwhile, the U.S. State Dept. has just declared (August 2024) that the Venezuela presidential election has been, you guessed it, stolen! And Venezuela uses voting machines manufactured by the same organization that manufactures voting machines used in the U.S.. But I digress.
Then the FBI illegally used the Steele Dossier to attain FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign. In the process various Trump officials, from Gen. Mike Flynn, Carter Page, Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, and George Papadopoulos, were indicted based on information gleaned from the illegal investigations.
The Mueller investigation was initiated and found no wrongdoing.
Trump was falsely accused and impeached for withholding funding to leverage Ukraine to investigate the Biden family business deals with Ukrainian oligarchs. And this while we’ve seen the video tape of then Vice President Biden doing exactly what Trump was charged with. Talk about projection.
Then, Covid 19 mysteriously shows up precipitating a complete restructuring of the 2020 election process to include extensive mail-in balloting. And now we know the entire Covid circumstance was contrived by operatives in the Center for Disease Control, the National Institutes for Health, and ‘big pharma’.
Then the Jan 6 fiasco (i.e., setup) in which Capitol Police knew a breach of the building was coming at least a day before. And DC Mayor Muriel Bowser refuses Trump’s offer of national guard troops.
And then the ‘lawfare’ phenomenon against Trump with more than 90 indictments for felony charges, some trying to bankrupt him, others being contrived “malicious prosecutions” that are now being ruled unconstitutional for the most part.
And still – Trump is standing! He is the most formidable opponent against the so-called ‘deep state’ in history, a ‘deep state’ that includes, of course, ‘the intelligence community’. The only thing left, after eight years of various attacks, is to take Mr. Trump out. Yes. Six ways from Sunday just might include killing Trump. And given the history of the previous attacks, many people have been concerned about this. Until, lo and behold, the July 13 rally in Butler, PA.
Occam’s Razor: when presented with competing hypotheses about the same prediction, and both hypotheses have equal explanatory power, one should prefer the hypothesis that requires the fewest assumptions.
This brings me back to the current focus on accountability for ‘the errors’ by the Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies assigned to Trump’s protection that July afternoon. Were they really ‘errors’? Or was this just another setup by the ‘intelligence community’?
There are simply too many ‘errors’ that occurred that day, errors that had to fall in a complex sequence in order to allow what happened to happen. That so many errors occurred by chance, and in the complex succession that was necessary, defies reasonable credibility. Which brings us to the notion of plausible deniability… ‘the ability of people, typically senior officials in a formal or informal chain of command, to deny knowledge of or responsibility for actions committed by or on behalf of members of their organizational hierarchy.’
The Steele Dossier. Illegal FISA warrants. The Mueller investigation. The impeachments. Covid and mail-in balloting. Jan 6. ‘Lawfare’. Really?
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me a dozen times more… just put me out of my misery.
