To the Editor:
I heard a very long interview with the General David Petraeus. It’s very evident why he rapidly became a military leader and expert in the Middle East. The Iranian attack planning originated under his command in 2009 and frequently updated till it was executed Saturday. He praised current leadership including Trump for its execution and had much praise for both Israeli and US Intelligence community.
Clearly in his mind this was all done to protect our national defense/security. He had one caution from this effort and it was leadership succession. Unless one emerges that is counter to current leadership Iran will remain a threat. Hopefully the Intelligence community is addressing this challenge and good change will emerge. – Frank Mazur, South Burlington
