KVS: Newport man arrested for selling and possessing cocaine

On February 28, 2025, the VSP Drug Task Force and Newport PD executed a search warrant at a residence on East Main Street in Newport, resulting in the arrest of two individuals on drug-related charges.

Brandon Cote, 34, of Newport, was arrested for two counts of selling cocaine, possession of cocaine, and possession of a regulated drug. Rowena Jones, 35, also of Newport, was arrested for possession of cocaine and a regulated drug. The arrests followed a months-long investigation by the Vermont Drug Task Force into cocaine distribution in Newport.

During the search, officers located illegal drugs and evidence of drug sales.

Cote was processed at the Newport Police Department and ordered held at Northern State Correctional Facility on a combined bail of $1,200.
