NEWPORT — Several hundred demonstrators gathered Saturday in downtown Newport as part of nationwide “No Kings” protests opposing the Trump administration’s policies since the election.
The demonstration, organized by NEK Indivisible, took place at the Newport City Municipal Building and courthouses. The two-hour event remained non-violent throughout, with participants carrying anti-Trump signs and chanting slogans.
Protesters lined the sidewalks along Main Street as vehicles passed, with some drivers honking in support while others displayed disapproval. Organizers encouraged participants to write letters to elected officials and avoid engaging with troublemakers.
The demonstration drew mixed reactions from passersby.
The timing of the protest generated additional attention as it occurred on the same day as a military parade in Washington, D.C., celebrating the Army’s 250th anniversary.
The group emphasized themes of constitutional rights and opposition to what they characterized as authoritarian governance. No arrests were reported.

Good for Newport! The spirit of ’76 lives on!
If you mean the 76 (undercount) globalist teats that feed your organization and theirs.
The spirit of 1776 led to a revolution against and actual king by patriots who took up arms and put their lives on the line for their cause. The vast majority of the No Kings protest probably went home, put their feet up, and watch one of their multiple TVs in their oversized home, while looking at selfies of their protest and feeling good about themselves . . . while nothing changed.
I salute all No Kings participants for practicing their Constitutional Rights.
However, I ask you – Do you plan to invite the whole globe to come to the US and give them access to your Social Security funds, your public education, and your well earned taxpayer afforded opportunities. There needs to be immigrant policies that don’t allow your taxpayer benefits to be so diluted that you get squat when you arrive at our hospitals, schools, and need road repairs.
There needs to be boundaries and legal ways to be recognized as citizens of America. Maybe some of you would like to go to their countries and teach their governments about Constitutional Rights so they can experience them there, too.
Do you know what makes our Constitutional Rights different from any other governance mankind has ever known? It stems from a deep dig into the Bible and what it says about God’s plans for good governance.
Do they know the difference between a republic and democracy? News and propaganda? Astro turf and grass roots? Who paid for no kings?
People, get a frigging life.
No Kings? If President Donald Trump was a king, a monarch, a tyrant or a dictator like Emperor Nero, Caligula or King John of England, these protests would never have been allowed. The proof that we are still a constitutional republic, if we can keep it, is the fact that this protest occurred with no infringement from any government authority. In my lifetime the closest I have seen our nation get to an authoritarian monarchy is under the reign of Joe Biden and whoever was charging the batteries and filling the ink on his executive order autopen machine. The same people holding the “No More Kings” signs and “Save our Democracy” signs don’t understand that nowhere in the founding documents do the founders claim to have created a Democracy. The founders understood that a Democracy it two wolves and a sheep deciding what to have for dinner. Democracies always evolve into tyranical dicatorships which is exactly what these protesters claim to be against. Time for every citizen to take a refresher course in American Civics 101.
A democracy is a transitional government, they are never stable, they always fail. That is the plan, because what happens next is their goal. An oligarch, they want the republic dead, which is why everyone says “democracy”…..most don’t know why they are saying it, some know very well. They are being used, duped.
Vermont has for a practical standpoint an oligarch already in place, there are 10 people plus or minus who set the agenda for our state. They are surely tied in with our “No Kings” protest. They are fueled by NGO’s and non-profits, and their directions are coming from United Nations.
We don’t even know the basics in Vermont, which is by plan.
Sorry about the “double post,” but this story is even more apropos with respect to….
I see Donald Trump as a mythic, transcendent figure…not an actual King, but someone who inspires poets like the chieftains of old used to do. (Ahem, Democrats, didn’t you mythologize one of your own Presidents as “Arthur of Camelot”?) I hope that The Donald (nomen est omen: that’s a Scottish name meaning “World Ruler”) will continue to enthrall his fans as our President for another eight years. Thank you for letting me share this poem.
THE HARVEST KING

The whole “Kings” thing is merely a distraction from the real agenda we’re sleepwalking into: A.I. governance. That’s why we have $500 billion going into Stargate data (surveillance) centers, that’s why we have Real ID, that’s why this administration is partnering with Big Tech to build a national citizen database. Better pay attention.
They say these protests were sponsored by the globalist George Soros, I wonder why funds from him are allowed to interfere in politics in America.
Bingo gringo.
AI is the biggest propaganda, surveillance and control ever invented. We should pay very close attention, yet, everybody is tied to their phones. Can’t look up, can’t think for ourselves, massively powerful propaganda tool are these “smart” phones.

A picture in the Monday edition of the Caledonian Record showed a picture of a smiling mom in front of 6 or 7 year-old little girl holding a sign that read “F*CK Trump” (I added the asterisk, the sign did NOT). Speaks volumes of the character of many No Kings elitists.
Amazingly ironic that there is a red Mini Cooper in the photo of the ‘no kings’ protest. It was manufactured in either England or the Netherlands, both ruled by kings.
And the owner probably paid a 21% tariff.

To all the “NO KINGS” protesters in the NEK, and across the State of Vermont this past Saturday, I say CONGRATULATIONS as you all have succeeded because I have yet to see a KING in our great Constitutional Republic!!!
I have lived in the Newport community for forty seven years. I witnessed the “No Kings” demonstration last Saturday and have come to the following conclusion: Many or most of the participants were not from Newport or the surrounding towns. I didn’t recognize a single one of them. There has been an influx of wealthy, white liberals into Newport in recent years. An acquaintance of mine had a similar experience. The entire “No Kings” must have come from the Church of the Left Wing and it seems that they all suffer from TDS.
What a revolting demonstration of disrespect and hatred toward every Army veteran.
