GOP governors (but not Scott) reject WHO health policy grab

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Republican governors joined together August 29 to state that they will not comply with the World Health Organization’s attempt at one world control over health policy.

“Under the proposed amendments and treaty, the WHO’s Director- General would supposedly gain unilateral power to declare a ‘public health emergency of international concern’ (PHEIC) in member nations, extending beyond pandemics to include a
range of perceived emergencies,” a letter published by Republican Governor’s Association said.

Vermont Gov. Phil Scott was not among the 26 Republican governors released a joint statement saying: “The World Health Organization is attempting one world control over health policy with their new ‘Pandemic Agreement.’ Twenty-four Republican Governors expressed concern over this development in a joint letter in May 2024. Put simply, Republican Governors will not comply.”

Signatories include: Governor Kay Ivey (AL), Governor Mike Dunleavy (AK), Governor Sarah Sanders (AR), Governor Ron DeSantis (FL), Governor Brian Kemp (GA), Governor Brad Little (ID), Governor Eric Holcomb (IN), Governor Kim Reynolds (IA), Governor Jeff Landry (LA), Governor Tate Reeves (MS), Governor Mike Parson (MO), Governor Greg Gianforte (MT), Governor Jim Pillen (NE), Governor Joe Lombardo (NV), Governor Chris Sununu (NH), Governor Doug Burgum (ND), Governor Mike DeWine (OH), Governor Kevin Stitt (OK), Governor Henry McMaster (SC), Governor Kristi Noem (SD), Governor Bill Lee (TN), Governor Greg Abbott (TX), Governor Spencer Cox (UT), Governor Glenn Youngkin (VA), Governor Jim Justice (WV), and Governor Mark Gordon (WY).

Background on the WHO Pandemic Treaty:

In December 2021, the World Health Assembly of the WHO established an intergovernmental negotiating body (INB) to create an international instrument under the constitution of the WHO to strengthen pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response. (WHO)

The Biden Administration has been participating in negotiations with the World Health Assembly as part of the intergovernmental negotiating body, and the WHO released a second draft of the WHO Pandemic Treaty in October of 2023. (WHO)

Twenty-four Republican Governors sent a letter on this topic in May 2024, and the letter can be found here.

Gov. Scott has stated at press conferences a general reluctance to sign letters penned by the Republican Governors’ Association. He said he is more open to signing letters from governors on a non-partisan basis.

  1. Can we stop calling Phil Scott a GOP governor? He certainly isn’t, he’s a fiscal conservative and otherwise primarily progressive.

  2. Scott is no ” Conservative ” he is and always has been a Republican in name only just
follow his decision-making policies…………he is only one step from being a leftist,

Scott is so scared of the ” super-majority ” in the state house, he puts on a good show but mostly is in lockstep on their agenda, he is no conservative !!

  3. This should wake up some of the sleepy Vermonter’s as to the fact that Phil Scott is not your friend, he has sold out Vermont, and he has no interest in making Vermont affordable. This should be enough proof and facts as to who Governor Scott really is, HE NEEDS TO GO! We do not want ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT CONTROL!! We do not want communist. DON’T VOTE FOR HIM.

    • I absolutely don’t want the UN/WHO to have to do with Healthcare or anything else….

  4. We have an Open Northern Border in Vermont, growing crime in Vermont, growing drugs in Vermont, growing poverty in Vermont, High Taxes in Vermont, soon no Heat in Vermont, Marxist Rule in Vermont. It is up to the People of this State to wake-up and be the Voice and the Power to Change what is happening. The Marxist Plan has come to fruition in Vermont, they are all in lock-step all across America and it is being fueled by a relentless, evil, corrupt, main-stream media and a corrupt government (federal & local). The VT Governor and the VT legislative majority have the power to do Good but insists on doing Evil.

What can you do for your State, for your country? Sit back and do nothing will only be the downfall of everything you hold dear.

Liberty is from God, not man.

  5. The gov is defending the crackpots in the Vt Department of Health. As far as politics goes in Vermont any break in the edifice of ‘THE SCIENCE’ is a humungus can of worms.

  6. I have come to the conclusion to support Governor Scott in the election even though I support President Trump and have not voted for Scott in the past. If Scott Republicans and Trump Republicans continue our internecine conflict we will never regain a veto proof minority in the General Assembly, let alone a majority, and Vermont will become an English speaking Venezuela. The pockets of Republican resistance in the Kingdom, Franklin County, and Rutland County are already threatened. If we cannot tolerate one another and gain traction in the upcoming election, we will lose even those pockets of sanity.

  7. The World Heath Organization is not a country. Treaties are only signed between countries and have to be approved by the United States senate.

  8. I’ve said it before and will say it again. The Chinese are well imbedded in Vermont’s political and business landscape. Time to remove the politicians in bed with the enemy (the CCP, not Chinese people) and business people and academia in cahoots with them.

  9. Any treaty of any sort with the USA must be ratified by a majority of the US Senate. Of course that doesn’t mean shenigans have not all ready taken place to yoke the USA Corporation into capitulating to an unelected group of foreign despots known as the IMF/UN/WHO/WEF/EU. The problem with treaties is they circumvent the US Constitition, and what Congress/State Department does on our behalf is never in our favor or for protection of our God given rights – here or abroad. It is lawfare treason.

To Phil Scott’s fanboys: if Phil doesn’t support the brotheren of other States, within the State, or the RNC, why doesn’t he declare himself an Independent? Likely because taking money, support, and votes from the GOP faithful is more important than supporting the GOP platform. You invited the wolves into your big tent and now can’t fathom why your party is as corrupt and fractured as the DNC?

No worries, all the viruses and shots are locked and loaded for mass depopulation and reset. The wealth transfer is well underway. Once the civil unrest erupts in grand fashion, martial law and digitial currency will be forced down our throats. So say the overlords in Davos, Geneva, and Brussels.

  10. Never forget what Phil Scott and his army of brownshirts did to you during COVID. 95%+ of Vermonters blamed and shamed into being vaccinated. A vaccine that we now know is neither safe nor effective. He forced you to put you and your children in harm’s way. Family businesses forced to shutter their doors. Children masked and vaccinated. Schools shut down. Kids forced to be online 8 hours a day. For what? But now he wants more of it. He’s drunk on his own will to power. He is a despicable tyrant.

  11. Im curious, who voted for Scott to be the most popular governor? I didn’t get a poll asking me. So that leaves to question, who decides this If it’s not the all of the people of Vermont.
