The State Park and Historic Site Passes Program allows library patrons to check-out passes directly from their local library. These passes allow for free admission of one car holding up to eight people into a Vermont State Park or Vermont Historical Site.

Vermont’s local public libraries receive one State Park pass and two State Historic Site passes in the spring. Academic libraries are provided with one State Historic Site pass. 

This program is jointly sponsored the Department of Libraries, the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation and the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation State-Owned Historic Sites Program.

NEW this year, State Parks passes should be held for reuse next year. This year’s passes feature a new evergreen design developed by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation specifically for Vermont’s public libraries, so remember at the season’s close to store them for retrieval next spring.

Additional Passes

Libraries may purchase additional State Parks passes at a discounted rate by calling 1-888-409-7579 and Historic Site passes at a discounted rate by calling 1-802-828-3540.

Damaged Passes

If a pass has been damaged or lost by the library an additional replacement pass can be requested from the Department. The damaged pass should be destroyed. If a library patron has borrowed and not returned a pass, libraries should follow their policies for billing and replacement.
