When we sweep the corruption under the rug, yeah, it does look like a boulder. Home of the Astro turf. In propaganda we trust.
Just like all master grifters, nobody wants to give up the free gravy train, the free money.
Bankruptcy happens, then it happens suddenly. Will be interesting to track funding sources for front porch forum and Vt Digger, I suspect lay offs in the coming years….
FPF is a cesspool left-wing echo chamber. The little tyrant Michael Wood-Lewis accepts government (aka taxpayer) funds, and proceeds to terminate users in accordance with his whimsical censorship of conservatives and communist “Terms of Service.”
The liberal Dems in Vermont need to get on board of the Trump train otherwise they will keep losing more elections
Liberal Dems losing elections is a good thing. We have a constitution they all ignore unless it’s adding an amendment related to reproductive rights after lying about what it truly was for, unfettered abortion.
They also ignore our federal constitution claiming sanctuary status over federal immigration laws, they violate the 2nd amendment as well as voting laws for illegal aliens. All this after taking an oath to defend our constitutions under the pains and penalties of perjury.
With domestic anti-Americans like this, who needs enemies. Our enemies are already here and uninformed Vermont voters keep them in power as the state fails at all levels.
The Marcellus Shale Reserve is “a 9 iron shot from Bennington”. I’m stealing that!
Re: Mr. Thurston’s comment on NG from the PA shale sources. It would be highly desirable to have more NG pipelines into VT and other New England states for all the well known reasons, but there is one big problem. I believe NY state law forbids the construction of any fossil fuel pipelines transiting NY border into any New England state.
If Carl Higbie of Newsmax is to be trusted, and I think he is, he had a lot to say about USAID Friday on Newsmax. Now that we have a conservative businessman and not a Marxist politician in office, America will hopefully find out what happened to all of our tax monies when that corrupt honeypot is audited.
To build a well in Chad it cost approximately $8,000, and so many wells were created, but half or more of such monies are still unaccounted for. The former president, Hunter Biden, Hilary, etc., were lining their pockets, and now we will see their sewage and sins at the bottom of that drained swamp in Washington D.C.
Gotta love Elon Musk!
Carl Higbie of Newsmax is one of the best and a true patriot I watch his sow every night.
Get rid of some of the asylum seekers and other illegals and Burlington might become safe to visit again.
Come on Fellas: How about some context with your tariff discussion. Your point of view is significantly over-simplified and inconsiderate of complex detail.
Why shouldn’t we be ‘dependent’ on Canadian energy. Is it better to be dependent on New York, or PA? Consider relativity.
We pay about 7 cents per KWH to Hydro Quebec for electricity. Worst case scenario, if your tariff concerns are totally realized, that price will increase by 25% – from 7 cents per KWH to 9 cents per KWH. OMG! The sky is falling.
So, instead, you want to buy solar and wind power at a current cost of 18-21 cents per kwh. Or follow through with the various green heat legislation raising heating oil prices from somewhere between 15% to 100%, depending on where it finally settles out – at best an ‘unknown’ risk. How’s your risk/reward analysis work with that?
And VT Yankee power was NOT clean. Spent fuel rods in the older system still present severe long-term storage costs, not to mention the dangers from radiation.
And yes, new-generation nuclear power is much more palatable. It’s significantly safer than the old VT Yankee generation systems. And it’s more scalable. Small, regionalized nuclear plants are less expensive to build. But nuclear is still expensive because the plants must be built from the ground up.
So, God forbid we buy power from Canadians, when they can increase power costs with tariffs, and still charge LESS than half of the alternative costs you’re promoting.
PS. And your point of view on tariffs completely ignores the current penalties already imposed on American companies doing business in Canada. I’ve done business in Canada. Not only did the Canadian government hit my Canadian customers with huge (25%-30%) tariff equivalents, the Canadians wouldn’t allow my employees to work in Canada, even when we were only providing warranty services at no charge. On the other hand, Canadian workers come here all the time to work.
If you want to carry on with this discussion, just let me know.
The entire modus operandi of the democrat party has been to use the public treasury to bribe people for their votes and fund left-wing causes through NGO’s and corrupt government agencies. It’s fun and amusing to see what happens when the rug is pulled out from under them. Tired of winning yet?
“This brave little state” is hardly a boulder, but a pebble, and when the federal spigot runs dry, the whimpering will be echoing from the hills.
Hope Hydro Quebec paid there one hundred thousand dollar late property tax bill in Searsburg Vermont.
Good for New Hampshire….
