Following an investigation, the Vermont State Police has issued a citation to a West Pawlet farm owner arising from a confrontation last month between him and a worker he believed was selling illegal drugs.
The investigation began at about 11:35 p.m. July 3, when VSP received a report regarding a possible assault that had occurred at the farm, located at 1290 Vermont Route 30 in West Pawlet. Investigation revealed that Richard Hulett, 45, received information alleging an individual had attempted to distribute illegal narcotics on the property. A confrontation ensued between Hulett and Ulver Perez-Roblero, 30, during which Hulett assaulted Perez-Roblero and a juvenile who had attempted to intervene.
Perez-Roblero and the juvenile sought treatment for minor injuries the following day at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Working with the Rutland County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Vermont State Police has cited Hulett on two counts of misdemeanor simple assault. He is scheduled to be arraigned at 10 a.m. Sept. 23, in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Rutland.

will the drug question be answered//// just another day at the vermont zoo///
Probably illegals.. drugs? Shocking..
If an illegal activity (or not that looked like it) was observed, chances are that in the new Vermont of crime, there’s a 95% (or higher) that a criminal activity was or had taken place. In Vermont the drug activity is common place.
If a person, in this case the farmer, with respect of criminal activity, rightly question and confront the situation, when on their property. DA’s, Prosecutors can and often do criminally charge the innocent if and when the “evidence” is submitted to the legal beagles. In turn they can “manufacture” any criminal activity against the innocent. Proven time and time again, look at VP Harris record in CA, innocent people in prison kept past their release times so the state gets free labor. Check it out. At the Dem debate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) tore into Harris for what she did, and Harris quit the Prez. race. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4fjA0K2EeE (2:48)
Even on gun control, innocent gun collectors have been crucified, killed and jailed by the ATF, FBI, HLS, Local cops, etc.
In this case, there’s no reasonable doubt afforded. Just nail them and jail them. The prosecutor has another notch in their belt. No proving the difficulties for judgement in a time flash due the farmer. Haven’t seen any evidence of background criminal activity by Ulver Perez-Roblero, 30, if so. That should be investigated. A lot of legal beagle matters is yet to be brought forth. Something triggered something. Richard Hulett, 45 as stated said he received info about this guy. “received information alleging an individual had attempted to distribute illegal narcotics on the property:. Has the VSP investigated that aspect, or just told Hulette “you’re coming with us” Something is greatly amiss.
Since the police do not have the resources to respond to criminal activity, this seems a reasonable approach to an unreasonable situation.
It would appear to this casual observer that the incorrect person maybe charged. But then again , this is Vermont.
