By Guy Page

If you follow the news in Vermont you know about John Klar, or you think you do. You know about the man who ran for governor in 2020. About the lawyer who’s helping a Brattleboro family sue their school district for vaccinating a young child for Covid against their will. About the farmer/lawyer/author/advocate who will stand up in front of a friendly crowd or a hostile government committee to make his case, with a confident, easy eloquence, for fixing what’s wrong and urging what’s right.

Now the rest of the world is getting to know him too. John Klar and his battle with the government/industrial food complex was the subject of a feature news story in yesterday’s Epoch Times, the fastest-growing independent news media in America, also translated into 21 languages and read in 33 nations. You can find the link to this story on www.vermontdailychronicle.com

John Klar with Myrtle

At 11:05 this Wednesday morning on Vermont Daily Chronicle’s Hot Off The Press on WDEV AM 550, FM 96.1, and wdevradio.com, you’ll get to know another side of John Klar. The Vermont native who never expected to follow his ancestors into farming. The former tax attorney who, sidelined by chronic illness, left his law practice in the late ’90s and returned home to the Green Mountains in search of healing.

What Klar found instead was a calling. A run-in with a state meat inspector pushed him from homesteader to outspoken advocate for small farms, regenerative agriculture, and food independence. Today, he raises grass-fed livestock, writes about America’s food crisis, and fights what he calls a ‘war on farmers.’

For the next 20 minutes we’ll talk with John Klar, we invite your calls, questions and comments at 802-244-seventeen 77.

Vince Illuzzi

Like the Vermont Daily Chronicle, the Epoch Times allows reader comments. As of 9:07 AM there are already 139 comments on the Epoch Times story. Here’s just one example: ‘John Klar is a perfect example of using his Talent, Time, & Treasures -within reason-to help ‘right the wrongs in government’. Let’s do more than cheer him on. Let’s help him w/ our 1) time 2) talents and 3) treasures ($$). May God bless him and Jacqui with safety and success.”

In the second segment of today’s Hot Off The Press, we’ll hear Essex County State’s Attorney, former longtime state senator, Barre native and former Burlington Free Press reporter Vince Illuzzi describe what’s really happening with Operation Stonegarden, a federal program managed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection that pays Vermont police to help out with patrolling the Vermont Canada border. According to several recent news reports, Stonegarden pays Vermont cops to work directly with the feds in immigration-related law enforcement – something the Legislature has been determined to stamp out since Donald Trump took office in 2017.

What’s really happening in fed – state law enforcement cooperation? Keep listening after our interview with John Klar and you’ll find out.

  1. Yesterday, I was thrilled to read that great article about John Klar in my Epoch Times feed. It wasn’t just a great way to find out more about him, but it was so satisfying to know that his views on regenerative farming, etc, were really getting out there! These are topics that are NEVER discussed in MSM, so people who have no direct connection, never had time to pay attention or research, but may be open to it can finally get the right info, in full force, from the best source! Thank you, Guy, for highlighting it here, thank you Epoch Times for allowing this great article about John, and, mostly, thank you John Klar for all the best work you are doing to enlighten Vermont and the world about health, freedom, and best practices for the earth!

  2. While listening to VDC’s WDEV show today, Guy and a call-in commenter asked if Mr. Klar would consider running for Vermont Governor again. I, for one, would vote for Mr. Klar.

    • While I agree that John Klar would be a great VT governor, I think he is finding his best voice in doing all the things he is doing now, and getting the word out in all the ways he is. He’s an articulate and informed communicator of all the important things people should know about. I am very grateful that he has taken on this role….

  3. Yes – thank you John Klar for all your hard work for VT and health and humanity. Your work is greatly appreciated.

  4. I wish John Klar would run again for Governor. If he’s interested, I hear the Orange County Senate seat held by Mr. Hart is available?

  5. I agree. John Klar has found a voice and stride as a writer and he shouldn’t dumb down his message for politics. Now he doesn’t need to toe the party line. He’s a prolific writer with great intelligence and wit. And people are starting to pay attention, and he’s made some important allies. When John stepped out of slimy politics and into writing, we regained a voice for the little people that champions what Vermonters who’ve built the state, want. He, along with Joel Salatin, are going to save food and small farms teaching the merits of keeping it simple and clean and regenerative.
My friend, I always knew this is what He wants for you… Well done, my son. Your work is just beginning. Go!

  6. After my bizarre, horrible experiences with food senstivity, and a system that uses “mental illness” as an excuse for its own shortcomings I’m relieved that thanks to the work of Robert Kennedy, John Klar, and others this issue is finally being revived. It was active in the ’70’s, 80’s but largely faded. Whole food without laundry lists of added chemistry is far less profitable for big corporations.
