Vermont State Police reported multiple domestic assault and DUI arrests across the state in recent days.
Domestic assaults:
• On February 22 at about 2:45 p.m., troopers from the Royalton Barracks responded to a domestic dispute at a home in Royalton. Investigation determined Joseph Audette, 43, of Royalton, caused injury to a family member. Audette was arrested and processed at the barracks and cited to appear in Windsor County Superior Court on February 23 at 12:30 p.m. to answer to a charge of first-degree aggravated domestic assault.
• On February 21 at about 8:38 p.m., troopers responded to a reported assault at a residence on Railroad Avenue in Orleans. Police said Michael Royer, 40, of Orleans, caused pain to a household member. Royer was arrested and processed at the Derby Barracks and later released with conditions to appear in Orleans County Superior Court on February 23 at 12:30 p.m. on a charge of domestic assault.
• On February 22 at about 12:59 a.m., troopers from the Williston Barracks were dispatched to a family fight at a home on East Hill Road in Richmond. Police allege Bridgit Jewell, 39, of Colchester, caused bodily harm to a household member and also spat on responding members of Richmond Rescue and the Williston Fire Department, including paramedic Eric Matens, 31, of Williston, and AEMT Jillian Leikauskes, 34, of Richmond. Jewell was arrested and later released with a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on April 7 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to charges of domestic assault and assault on a protected professional.
• On February 20 at about 6:35 p.m., troopers were called to a reported domestic dispute at a residence on Lafoe Road in Holland. Investigation revealed Skyanna Clow, 30, of Claremont, New Hampshire, was allegedly trespassing, attempted to cause serious bodily injury to a family member, caused minor injury to another, and unlawfully restrained several individuals. Clow was arrested and lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear in Orleans County Superior Court on February 23 at 12:30 p.m. to answer to charges including first-degree aggravated domestic assault, domestic assault, second-degree unlawful restraint and unlawful trespass.
DUI arrests:
• On February 21 at 12:28 a.m., troopers responded to a vehicle slide-off on Route 15 in Cambridge. Lance McCuin, 42, of Cambridge, showed signs of impairment and was arrested on suspicion of DUI #1. He is due in Lamoille County Superior Court on March 11 at 12:30 p.m.
• On February 22 at 12:14 a.m., troopers responded to a vehicle off the roadway on U.S. Route 2 near the Long Trail parking lot in Bolton. Wendy Morin, 58, of Chicopee, Massachusetts, was arrested for suspicion of DUI #1 and is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on March 12 at 8:30 a.m.
• On February 21 at 12:07 a.m., troopers responded to another slide-off on Route 15 in Cambridge and identified the operator as Megan Mallon, 41, of Cambridge. Mallon was arrested for suspicion of DUI #3 and cited to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on February 23 at 12:30 p.m.
• On February 20 at about 4:49 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a stopped vehicle with an unconscious operator in Arlington. Eugene R. Saunders Jr., 34, of Arlington, was taken into custody after displaying indicators of impairment. Police also located a controlled substance on his person. Saunders was cited to appear in Bennington County Superior Court on April 27 at 8 a.m.
• On February 16 at 5:55 p.m., troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to a motor vehicle complaint on Route 114 in Burke. Marta Jones, 43, of Middletown, Connecticut, was arrested for suspicion of DUI #1 and is scheduled to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on March 9 at 8:30 a.m.
• On February 19, troopers from the Rutland Barracks stopped a vehicle in Rutland and arrested Corey Turmon, 47, of Rutland, for suspicion of DUI. He was released with a citation to appear in Rutland County Superior Court at a later date.
• On February 19 at about 6:28 p.m., troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on the Interstate 89 northbound off-ramp at Exit 15 in Winooski. Police allege Philip Hoffman, 55, of Winooski, swerved into another vehicle at a red light. After observing signs of impairment, troopers arrested Hoffman for suspicion of DUI #2. He is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on March 12 at 8:30 a.m.
