“Fewer than 10 people making decisions” in State House, Rep. Jay Hooper says

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

by Paul Bean

If you have not already watched our interview with with Rep. Jay Hooper, you really ought to. Last week on Creemee Cast Friday at Four, the young representative gave us some pretty interesting and downright shocking revelations about how the super majority in Montpelier actually operates.

I was shocked to learn from this inside source, things are actually must worse than you think they are… Phillip Jay Hooper is a Democratic representative in the Vermont House for the towns of Brookfield, Braintree, Randolph, Granville and Roxbury.

We talked extensively about the Democratic Super Majority and how they operate. What we learned from Hooper (amongst many things) is just how few people in Montpelier are making decisions.

Starting around the 15min mark we addressed the notion that what we have in Montpelier is a political machine. However, Hooper explained it is not exactly a machine, because the word machine means guaranteed output for a certain amount of input.

Hooper: “Very few of us are putting in any input. Very very few. “

Bean: “It’s just a handful?”

Hooper: “Not even really. It’s like… like… fewer than 10.”

This should be a shocking and disturbing revelation to all Vermonters, Democratic, Progressive, independent, and Republican. While I did try to get him to name names, he hesitated to do so. Further along in the conversation we talked about the veto session, and how heavy veto overrides were the plan before the session even began:

Hooper: “The question going into the session is whether we’re going to override 7 bills or if we’re going to override 11.”

Paul Bean: “Do you think they take it as like a game ? Like ‘Oh, we won, we we overrode the Republican Governor.'”

Jay Hooper: “Of course they do.”

Paul Bean: “That’s all it is?”

Hooper: “It’s worse than that. It’s People today see it as a competition for who can prove best and most convincingly that they aren’t something that they think other people will think is a bad thing. It’s a fear of judgment. Like, you know,0 there’ll be Democrats who think that it’s a bad thing that I came on to Paul Bean’s radio.”

Bean: “Oh I’m sure there’s plenty of them that would.”

Hooper: “There’d be ones who say like ‘why would you do that, that was like, that’s stupid.’ Why? Why we’re gonna have a conversation… I’m gonna go talk to Paul Bean.”

Thank you Jay, for coming to talk to Paul Bean, and invite any other Democratic Reps with similar insights to do the same.

  1. Something even more depressing? Watch the LT. Gov debate

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyMTAvHbi-k&t=4405s

It’s a Montpelier love fest, they are both creatures of the Golden dome, VTDigger keeping all the “issues” in control. Nobody talking about the real issues. Making sure NO NEW THOUGHTS come into our state with a fire wall on anything Trump has to say.

The English, very politely screwed over much of the world. This is also Montpelier for Vermont, very politely screwing over the taxpayer.

The “illegal aliens” pay taxes so they should be able to vote! Such non-sense. Hey, last time I looked second homeowners were paying way more in tax than them, hell, probably more than the entire state, want to give them voting privileges?

A friend owns 2 homes, on 42 acres in a nearby state. His property tax is $800 per year….that is how much Vermont taxpayers are getting raped and robbed blind.

It’s time to stop drinking the kool-aid, red dye and yellow dye are not good for the soul.

  2. This interview is amazing, it is way more interesting than the above debate.

It confirms what we’ve been saying for years, basically the VNRC runs our state house. Lobbyists are completely controlling our state house.

    AMAZING interview, a great person.

Montpelier is run by about 10 people, that is not a Republic.
    Lobbyists run the senate.

This is also why our forefathers abhorred a democracy, the “supermajority” can do whatever they want, they need not be concerned about that pesky piece of paper.

Perhaps one of the most excellent interviews of how Montpelier “works”.

Please, take the time to listen to this young man. Very, very, very, good.

  3. It’s the things they don’t want to change.

Perhaps the most prophetic statement so far in this interview. This interview is so hopeful……….

    Well done, well done….

  4. Question,

If “suddenly” 70% of the schools are no longer “habitable”, the only buildings that suddenly are unsafe in Vermont, all others are safe, but suddenly most of our schools are unsafe?

Is this really a scam to close schools of their choosing and mandating the closures?

He’s suggesting we don’t have a map, perhaps we just haven’t been shown their map, perhaps that’s closer to the truth.

    There was another truth bomb….

They don’t have local control. 🙂

Many truth bombs, wonderful, wonderful interview.

    You control nothing….another one.!

    Amazing.

  5. Rep. Hooper models the candor and integrity I expect and rarely observe in elected officials. They should call balls and strikes as seen. Tell us the details.
His message is alarming but not surprising. There is a way to mitigate the spread of this contagion. Coming up soon. Vote.
    But thank you, Rep. Hooper.

  6. So, obviously, our State is being run by the U.N., the WEF and the W.H.O. Agenda 2030 in full swing. NGOs, Special interest and Lobbyist (representing these orgs) are brick by brick bringing our State into compliance with their mandates.

Control the schools, close off the land and regulate anything that would give sustainability to a sovereign person. You will eat bugs, own nothing and be happy.

  7. Not only do we have this demo-prog crypto-oligarchy in Vermont, but they are never really out of session. The “end of session” that occurs in, typically June, is just for show. The real sausage gets made in private communications, away from the prying eyes of what is left of the honest and objective media. This is the inevitable result of a one-ideology supermajority rule, and the voters are to blame for that. Look at what has happened in Massachusetts with their firearms laws this week with their tyrannical governor forcing an “emergency” implementation of a new set of restrictions. We are lucky to have Phil Scott who stands alone against this threat to democracy that is foisted upon Vermont by the party that likes to accuse their opponents of being a “threat to democracy”…

    • Perhaps kleptocracy is a better fit. Yes, there are too few elected representatives making decisions in Vermont, it’s been that way since Kunin started the march to Marxism in the 1980’s. House and Senate leaders are beholden to a group of donors and elitists both in and outside of Vermont pulling the strings. And seemingly without pause, Vermont liberal voters relish the treatment.

  8. These clowns running this state will never be able to handle the coming events.

    • That sounds rather apocalyptic, but i hope that the “coming events” you refer to are the election of Donald John Trump and Republican majorities in both houses of Congress…to moonbats, that would truly be earth shattering. If you are referring to the Second Coming, that will also be an eye opener to the God-denying marxists. I’m good either way.

  9. The Vermont legislature is no different from the US Congress or Senate. We all know that the Demonrats fall meekly in line with what Chuckie Schumer and Nancy Pelosi tell them to do. Even if Pelosi no longer is the House Speaker, they follow her like lemmings. We can only hope that eventually, she’ll lead all those lemmings off a cliff.

So why would anyone be surprised that this is how Vermont operates too? Most surprisingly, this “revelation” came from Jay Hooper, a Democrat. But he’s young. Let’s hope he keeps his current outlook and motivates other young, open-minded Democrats to run.

We seriously need to get back to honest, civil, open discussion, debate and negotiation in this country. I hate to say it this way, but like we used to have. Anyone remember Tip O’Neil and Ronald Reagan? Opposite sides of the aisle to be sure, but away from “the office”, very good friends who got a lot of things done.

    More of that, please!

  10. The more I study what the left is doing in VT, the more I believe their aim is to drive the old line Vermonters out of the state, so they can make it a leftists dream state…equals total control ,no opposition ,all opposition driven away, so they and their supporters can buy up all the land and holdings the old time Vermonter held…it’s working too! One of their main tools is to break health care, forcing old line Vermonters to flee to other states where healthcare is not broken.

Time to roll out the guillotine…

  11. I’m afraid young Hooper will be chastised and forced to wear a Dunce cap in the corner. That’s why youth is great in the right person. They are the ones that will force change on the middle of the road yes people and butt kissers. I hope he is strong and stands his ground. Maybe even change parties and show other young people the way to freedom isn’t in the Dem/prog collective cult which represents the total opposite of life as a free-thinking individual. His interview demonstrates exactly what many of us have been saying, the legislature is run by an invasive group of carpetbaggers, and we know who most of them are. Now if we could just get the voters to wake up the problem could be fixed.

    • Actually, the Dunce Cap should be awarded to those blindly-obedient sycophants of the anointed ten who call the shots. Rep. Hooper should be awarded a medal for bravery and for retaining a sense of self-respect and devotion to his oath of office.

    • They will cancel him. They will primary him if they consider him any kind of threat.

Even if he goes to the VTGOP, they will cancel him too, unless he carries water for the oligarch. They must protect their little cash cow of power and prestige at any cost.

If they, the VTDEMS and VTGOP have any say in the matter, NOTHING will change in Montpelier, they like things just the way they are.

  12. If there were any piece of journalism to win an award, this would be it. What is this article the equivalent of? How about the Catholic church priest rape scandal, yet it’s even more significant than that.

What has this young man described in detail?

He has described a failed state.

What he has described is not even a democracy, but an oligarch under the very, very thin veneer of people voting and having a say in their government. This story is the equivalent of Dorthy pulling back the curtain the wizard of oz, showing a despicable man.

And in the interview above, between the two puppets behind the curtain, Zuckerman so smugly and self-protecting “gets” the VTGOP candidate to say “he’d never vote for Trump”. Why is that so important for everybody in control of Vermont? Because their little charade will be over.

So, the next question one should ask, where does the VNRC and those group of 10 people all get “their ideas” from? They did not just “come up” with those ideas. They were all told what to do, there is but another parcel. My guess and many readers will probably say I’m stating the obvious, they are part of the “Build Back Better” which is a United Nations, WEF, WHO conglomerate of psychopaths.

This was why the Green Mountain Party wanted to tax out of state lobbyists 90%. This is why Vermont Digger did it’s investigative journalism on our party of asking two questions, is this your party and platform and then skewered the ideas.

    https://vtdigger.org/2015/12/06/margolis-11/

We are a failed state, run by the Marxist puppets of the United Nations, one more dot to connect and this will prove it. It also proves the VTGOP is doing the bidding too. This is the best investigative news article amazing.

This proves we are NOT a democracy, but an oligarchy, and the next question is who is telling them what to do? You can tell a tree by its fruit. There is a reason why the state of Vermont got a D- in ethics, it was the center piece of our platform.

And as I’ve said, if we had the mob running our state, at least they would understand that business have to thrive, not so with the Build Back Better marxist crowd.

Things are not what they seem to be in Vermont.

  13. If we passed on rule that said something like, any lobbyist must wear a bright yellow neon hat when speaking with any public official, we could visually see the corruption going on.

Instead, they all wear nice suits or clothes that blend in.

Having a hefty fine and jail sentence would be useful enforcement. Alas our state has been sold out. The true underlying drive for Take back Vermont was for local control, and please stop ramming things down our throats we didn’t ask for. In the massive spin machine that came out as being homophobic.

Yet here we are with some interesting things going on in our state. The Catholic Church is being bankrupted for sexual molestation of children. The VSP is providing cover for people who want and fantasize about having sex with children, known as MAP’s. Now true, there are no thought crimes but are there?

In the above lt gubernatorial debate, it was pretty evident that the thought of voting for Trump is not an acceptable thought to be tolerated in Vermont.

Then there was the Republican Norm who was put on a pike, bankrupted and shamed statewide for years, for having consensual sex, wrongly accused of prostitution……and the Vermont legislature is looking at legalizing sex work, as to not do so would be racists and misogynistic.

Now suddenly across the state we have huge multifamily projects going up (isn’t that what Vermonter asked for?) across our state for 30,000 people coming, when we only need 1100 homes for homeless.

Guess they have to house the 10 million people who walked into our country without any regard somewhere.

Just remember, it’s not a coincidence, it’s all planned, or should I say implemented by the 10 or so people who direct the state, if our school systems were functioning properly everyone would understand that’s not a representative constitutional republic, but an oligarchy run by out of country interests.

    WHO ordered the jab? 🙂

  14. This is no surprise to me, rather a confirmation. There is a script, you will follow it, if you divert from the script you will be spanked at the very least, you will likely also be stripped of any committee assignments, and you may also be blackballed, knocked out and replaced. Not a surprise, but thanks for confirming what I already knew.

  15. During the S.55 mag ban bill a Democrat legislature told me in chambers at Statehouse that his constituents in his town had overwhelmingly opposed S.55, but he was told by party higher ups that if he didn’t tow the party line he would be ousted off committees and would lose backing for reelection.
