The 2024 Cross Vermont Trail Annual Meeting and Foliage Ride is tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the new trailhead parking in Groton Village off of Little Italy Road, the Journal-Opinion reports.
This is a chance to talk with fellow trail enthusiasts about progress and future of the Cross Vermont Trail. Local volunteers who have been working overtime to improve the trail in Groton will be recognized.
Plus a bike ride on the railtrail or a walk along the river to explore this beautiful area during Fall Foliage.
Location is the new trailhead parking lot recently built by Groton. To get there, from Route 302 in the village of Groton, go south on Powder Spring Road over the river, then turn left onto Little Italy Road. The trailhead is a short drive up on the left. This trailhead is also the site of the future Groton Gateway Park along the river.
Relatedly, the Groton Planning Commission will host a presentation on Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m. for the unveiling of two preliminary design concept plans for the Groton Gateway Park. The concepts will be posted to the town website after the meeting.
Finally, Groton will host its annual Fall Foliage Day on Oct. 5.
