Same couple arrested in June for assault in vehicle

Burlington Police have arrested a man and a woman for a series of charges stemming from a police encounter on October 14.
Police found a car near Fletcher Free Library with three unconscious people; one driver and two passengers. Police did not say whether or not they had passed out due to drug use, the real reason is unclear.
The occupants were Anthony Seagroves, 32, of Hinesburg, Katelynn Cannon, 28, of Hinesburg, and Zachary Hutchinson, 43 of Burlington.
Seagroves and Cannon were arrested this June in connection with a kidnapping and assault case from June 8 in Starksboro.
According to investigators of the June incident, Seagroves had forcibly ordered a household member into a vehicle at baseball bat-point, driving off and causing bodily injury while restraining the victim. Cannon allegedly assisted by physically assaulting the same person and attempting serious bodily harm.
Shortly after, the occupants inside the vehicle woke up and responded to the officer. Police learned the car had been stolen out of South Burlington.
When asked to step out of the vehicle, police found a handgun on the seat where Seagroves was sitting and a knife on the seat where Cannon was sitting. Both were in reach of all the passengers. All three were detained.
Through dispatch police learned the Seagroves and Cannon were on conditions of release to not be in the possession of guns or any other dangerous or deadly weapons. Seagroves also had a suspended drivers license and is a convicted felon who is disqualified from owning a gun.
Both stemmed from an incident involving a kidnapping and aggravated assault charge.
Seagroves was taken into custody for Persons Prohibited from Possessing Firearms, Violation of Conditions of Release, Aggravated Operation Without Owner’s Consent, Driving with a Criminally Suspended License, and Unlawful Trespass of a Motor Vehicle. He is at Northwest State Correctional Facility on $5000 bail.
Cannon was taken into custody for Violation of Conditions of Release and Unlawful Trespass.
The third occupant, Zachary Hutchinson, was given a citation for Unlawful Trespass and released from the scene.
Seagrove’s criminal history is as follows:
7 Failures to Appear
7 Felony charges with 1 conviction
15 Misdemeanor charges with 8 convictions
1 Assaultive Crime charge
1 Violation of Probation/Parole Charge with 4 convictions.
Cannon’s criminal history is as follows:
1 Failure to Appear
1 Misdemeanor Charge
1 Assaultive Crime Charge.
Stalking and Criminal Threats
Police have arrested Jarod Wilkins, 24, of Winhall for alleged serious threats against a man and a woman located in Brookline.
It happened on October 10 when the pair received a credible threat that put both of them in fear of their life and safety.
Wilkin had also shown up to the victim’s workplace and residence on that same day.
Wilkins was quickly arrested and processed at the Winhall Police Department. He is at Southern State Correctional Facility with a bail of $500. He appeared in court on October 15.

Victim blaming is in order here. The government isn’t coming to save you. Get smart and get armed. It is up to YOU to defend your life and body. It is up to US to keep society safe from criminals. If we don’t have victims, we don’t have criminals.
Love your neighbors, lock your doors, and carry purpose built tools for self-defense.
Just another day at the VEMONT ZOO and looks like there is no end in sight.
Let the feds handle this. Just the felon in possession of a gun charge is good for 5 years in club fed. Vermont could also use some bail reform. Bail laws are very strict in that they are primarily in place to assure a perp shows up in court. Someone who has a chronic track record of failing to appear should be denied bail on any subsequent, serious charge. Another joke of the Vermont criminal statutes is this sillyness of “operating without the owner’s consent” or in this case “Unlawful trespass of a motor vehicle”. They STOLE an item worth thousands of dollars…it should be called grand theft auto…just like the computer game.
C’mon Rich, You and I both know they will never see 5 years for a gun violation. Most charges will be plea bargained out for a 30-day sentence, and they will be back on the streets in record time.
Gun grabbing democrats have no leg to stand on when they cite the need for more “common sense gun legislation that supports the 2nd Amendment”, when EXISTING, TOUGH federal laws are rarely used to take dangerous people off the street…
I think it’s safe to assume there’s drugs involved, and I don’t mean Clearasil.
2 more pieces of garbage
There but for fortune go you or I.
