Incumbent Balint voted against SAVE Act last week

By Guy Page
Vermont’s incumbent Democrat member of Congress and a Republican challenger are at odds over the July 10 U.S. House passage of the SAVE Act that prohibits non-citizens from voting in federal elections.
Mark Coester, a Westminster businessman and the Republican candidate for Congress in Vermont’s at-large district, congratulated the House for passing the SAVE Act (H.R. 8281), which aims to uphold the integrity of federal elections by prohibiting non-citizens from voting.
Several Vermont municipalities currently allow non-citizen voting in local elections. The municipal charter changes were approved by the Vermont Legislature and to date have survived court challenges. If signed into law, the SAVE Act would take priority over any state laws to the contrary, because federal law ‘pre-empts’ state law.
Supporters say these laws do not explicitly violate federal law prohibiting non-voting in federal elections. However, the SAVE Act would prohibit not only voting in federal elections, but takes the additional step of prohibiting registration of non-citizens for potential voting in a federal election. Such a step would eliminate the possibility of non-citizen voters, either in error or on purpose, of voting in a federal election.
The SAVE Act as passed July 10 by the U.S. House and pending Senate deliberation, states:
“Requiring Applicants To Present Documentary Proof Of United States Citizenship.—Under any method of voter registration in a State, the State shall not accept and process an application to register to vote in an election for Federal office unless the applicant presents documentary proof of United States citizenship with the application.”
The bill also requires states remove non-citizens from the voting rolls:
“A State shall remove an individual who is not a citizen of the United States from the official list of eligible voters for elections for Federal office held in the State at any time upon receipt of documentation or verified information that a registrant is not a United States citizen.”
Incumbent Rep. Becca Balint voted No on H.1881, according to the roll call on Congress.gov. She has not commented on her vote on her X page, the platform on which she offers information and statements on last week’s flooding and other major issues.
The SAVE Act, officially titled the “Safeguarding American Votes and Elections Act,” emphasizes the principle that only U.S. citizens should vote in federal elections, Coester said.
“If this also passes the Senate, this will represent a major advancement in safeguarding the integrity of our federal elections,” Coester said. “Making sure that only U.S. citizens can vote in federal elections is not just about following the law; it is also about regaining the trust and confidence of the American people in our electoral system. It is inexplicable to me why 198 House Democrats choose to vote against this bill.”
According to a Coester campaign statement, the SAVE Act addresses election integrity by:
● Requiring states to obtain documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering individuals to vote in federal elections
● Requiring states to remove non-citizens from their official lists of eligible voters.
● Establishing criminal penalties for registering an applicant to vote in a federal election who fails to present documentation proving U.S. citizenship.
Coester said his endorsement of the SAVE Act reflects his broader commitment to ensuring transparent and secure elections. As a candidate for Vermont’s at-large US House seat, Coester is dedicated to advocating for policies that uphold the rights of American citizens and representing the interests of his fellow Vermonters.

I totally agree with Mark Coester. IMO there is no logic allowing non-citizens to vote on anything.
Well, at LEAST on a national level, these Communist pigs are LOSING big time. Trump is an American Hero who survived an assassination attempt through the hand of God, and clearly possesses both the immense courage and the conviction of the bravest of history’s military heroes.
In addition, his classified documents case was just dismissed & the special council was apparently unlawfully appointed.
And we all thought New York’s John Gotti was the Teflon Don? Nah….it is President Donald J. Trump and as is said by those in the know — right would conquer both might & evil, and in the end – God WINS.
President Trump is an icon, and I’m pretty sure that Governor Phil Scott and GOP head Paul Dame can no longer defame this fearless patriot without appearing as utterly desperate fools.
But will that stop them? My guess is a giant “no”. Nonetheless: “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.” So please fella’s: Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh………!!!
This shouldn’t even be a discussion. Non-citizens have no legal right to vote.
We agree again. Go figure.
So remember it’s not about voters it’s about ballots!! If there is a body that requests a ballot there is no way to track it. That is why all the open border illegal immigrant registration at public assistance offices. That is why the Save act is important.
Promising website for Mr. Chester, he may want to add a section regarding crime and law enforcement. He seems like the kind of person who should be running for office.
Rep. Becca Balint IS NOT A VERMONTER. She hails from Germany. NO VERMONT VALUES. When she got “appointed” to represent VT in Congress by Flatlanders, I got a few emails from her, why I don’t know,I hadn’t subscribed. I’m a Constitutional American (and vet), neither Rep or damn sure not a Socialist Dem. Didn’t want to hear from her crapology. Took some emails to get off her stupid list. Guess she needs the $175K salary and perks at taxpayer and my expense. Outside of VT, I don’t think she knows much about America. Just another opportunist looking to freeload. VT has so many.
The Vermont useful idiots and the super woke elite will back her because she checks off all the DEI qualifications.

No one ever accused the VT voters as being very bright but, there are at least 112,000 who see through the incompetence of our so-called VT delegation.
Kathleen, you are 100% right-on. We all should (over this current serious situation) just remain silent. We know for a fact that the Left is playing a game of chicken, or what we call in football, trying to pull the defense offsides. They want desperately to be attacked. They hide behind things, sticking their tongues out, and going, “nah-nah-nah!” They — as I have ALWAYS SAID — are sado-masochists. And if you look back historically, that is what they’ve always been. A group of well-funded horrible people, who could never get anywhere outside of university, being elevated to middlemen status to bring down the working class by way of wealthy donors who despise anyone trying to get ahead. That’s the whole thing in a nutshell. This is why victimhood of the “oppressed” works so well for these otherwise losers. They have ABSOLUTELY no other means of making a living, as we all know. And they abhor hard work, which is why they gaslight people into believing how hard work will never get you anywhere in life. Yeah, because they get taxed and regulated to death, duh.
The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still. Exodus 14:14
Be still, and know that I am God. Psalms 46:10
If you’ve ever applied for a job in Vermont, or any other state, I’d imagine, you MUST provide two forms of ID certifying your US citizenship.
If you can’t be hired for a job without presenting the most basic credentials proving you’re a US citizen, how much more so to exercise the right which belongs exclusively to US citizens and entails being able to participate through the electoral process in how our state and country are governed?
It’s as ridiculous Michigan’s Governor just signing a bill which prohibits being able to investigate suspected election and ballot fraud.
These new bills are like a reverse osmosis of common sense and the upholding of electoral integrity.
They would like non-citizens to vote because they believe it will help them win.
These socialists will stop at nothing to stay in power
Democrats hate America, that’s us. “ 198 House Democrats choose to vote against this bill.” Don’t vote for our domestic enemies.
Any elected official that wants “Non-Legals” to vote in any election themselves should be voted out, those in favor are part of the problem in our fraud-ridden election process !!
Voting is a privilege allotted to all legal US citizens, any city, town, or state that allows
non-citizens voting, look at who running for office and their policies and you’ll see the scam to stay in power, Vermont you have three stooges in DC, and guess what they support, and now you know why our state has problems in both state and federal levels.
Do we have free and fair elections ??, you get one vote and they’ll get thousands to stay in power any way they can………….. Wake up people.
