Survivors face drug charges

Following further investigation and the completion of autopsies, the Vermont State Police is able to confirm the identities of the two individuals killed in the Friday night rollover vehicle crash on East Lakeshore Drive in Colchester.
State police say the crash fatality victims are:
- Damanuel McLeod, 19, of Brooklyn, New York.
- Tywon Parker, 28, of the Bronx, New York.
In addition, the surviving individuals who were in the vehicle are identified as:
- Tayami Barnes, 31, of the Bronx, New York.
- Ron A. Thomas, 21, of Brooklyn, New York.
- Juvenile male, 18, of Richmond, Virginia.

Barnes and Thomas are facing criminal charges related to cocaine possession and distribution in the Burlington, Vermont, area. These charges are the result of a Burlington Police Department investigation related to conduct leading to the police pursuit and vehicle crash.
These charges are outside the scope of the crash investigation being conducted by the Vermont State Police. Questions about the criminal case should be directed to Burlington police.
VSP’s investigation focusing on the crash itself remains active and ongoing. At this point, the state police has been unable to establish conclusively who was driving the vehicle during the pursuit from Burlington into Colchester. Burlington police terminated the pursuit on Vermont Route 127, also known as the Beltline, and the Colchester Police Department picked up the pursuit a short time later after the suspect vehicle nearly collided with a CPD cruiser after entering the town.
The Vermont State Police Crash Reconstruction Team has determined that none of the five occupants of the SUV was properly restrained at the time of the crash. Both McLeod and Parker were fully or partially ejected from the vehicle. Speed is believed to have been a primary factor in the crash on East Lakeshore Drive, where the speed limit is 25 mph.

My stepmom says: That is the problem with invitations. People often accept. Thanks, Governor & legislature: Your diversity is here!
And to think Governor Phil Scott referred to us as white supremacists and racists..
Your stepmom sounds a lot smarter than the governor and legislature.
Just more trash up from the city selling their wares ” drugs ” to idiot Vermonters, apparently two won’t be facing the judicial system ” Oh well ” It sucks to be them, but
the other three need some cell time…………….. some of NY’s finest
Nice of the guys to take some time out of their busy schedule and choose Vermont as their place to die. Seems to be a pattern here I just cant put my finger on. Is this part of the assisted suicide program for tourists. Seems to be very popular with the non indigenous peeps coming from out of state.
Keep the catch and release program and there will be more.
Richmond, Virginia. News spreads fast. Vermont is open for business and it’s the wild, wild East up there.
Thank God for the Colchester Police!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys r tight. The tightest. Keep it up.
could all the police records in new york pertaining to these tourists be made public/// we would like to know the back ground of these fine traveling salesmen///
Look at what the beautiful loving drug war invited to this state. Good boys.
Tayami Barnes face reads like, “they gonna go easy on me because I just ratted on
Ron Thomas.” Ron Thomas face be like, “I’m so screwed.” Why did they let him keep his jewelry on in booking?
Learn to follow traffic laws and drive up and down hills before you do crimes in places with hills that go up and down.
There seems to be a lack of significant ‘Drivers Education,’ and common sense, in New York…
They’re here, thanks progressive liberal democrats
Maybe, just maybe, if we actually incarcerated people caught drug dealing, word would get out and the problem would greatly diminish. Furthermore, there ought to be much stricter and severe sentences for the knuckleheads who cross state lines to deal.
Unfortunately, the way things are now, they get a finger wagged at them and are told not to deal drugs any more. And then they’re released.
How many times have we all seen a story that starts like this: “Police in blahblahblah last night arrested two people in blahblahblahtown on Class A drug dealing charges. Defendant blahblahblahA has a long rap sheet of 23 felony narcotics charges going back to 2003. Defendant blahblahblahB has 14 felony narcotics charges going back to 2016.”
So tell me again, why are these people even out on the street? How many overdose deaths is the *average* dealer is responsible for over their “career”? We can argue about the number, but I say “one” should get them off the street permanently.
You know, I think we already tried that, and IT WORKED. But our current crop of voters elected (and re-elected) the current crop of prosecutors who think that “incarceration is obsolete”. They hate America and are ashamed of our success and prosperity, and feel the social obligation to reduce us to third world status.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the taxpayers are also paying the perps defense through the public defender system. How long will it take before the voters get sick of getting screwed without getting kissed first’
i wonder if there is a connection in vermont with the new york tourists////
the vermont buyer is the problem//// without the buyer there would be no seller from new york////
Good riddance to bad trash.
Who woulda thunk that😇🤣😂
“Crash victims”, I think not. Crash criminals would be a much better description.
We have been watching this evolve for years. Police departments are required to report their traffic stops by race to prevent some bias (I guess). Still, no corresponding statistics are compiled/released on the overwhelmingly ‘biased’ profile of the new criminal element operating in Vermont. That’s not significant, just social progress!?
I see that Zora Hightower is running for LT Guv. I think she is some sort of social scientist at the big University in Burlington. Perhaps she will be asked about this during her campaign?
Both bonded out, never to be seen again.
I love a story with a happy ending.
When Alvan Bragg won’t enact consequences for stealing, God’s abilities certainly haven’t been sanctioned, also minimizing court costs ….
Where’s Stephanie Seguino and her data about blacks and crime when you need her.? Stephanie?? Calling all DEI “employees”!!!??? Needing someone to explain how such a small segment of the population are committing damn near every violent, gun/drug related crime in VT. Someone with expertise in diversity please enlighten us on its value again.
My point above Dave, did I get Seguino and Hightower confused, perhaps?,
My comment from yesterday:
“The fact that they are yet to be identified, leads me to believe that they are/were 20 somethings from down/out state with no IDs…cause IDs are, you know, voter suppression. OR, the powers are just holding back as long as they can before they reveal what we all already suspect/know them to be.”
My suspicion spot on. One of these days they’re going to try it on the wrong victim and their careers will be suddenly ended. Then the DA will also suddenly decide to prosecute. This is all intended, it is the dismantling of functioning society to bring about anarchy and tribalism while elites gobble up all they can.
So here’s the script change we need.
Make affordable housing as easy to do as dealing drugs in Vermont.
Make dealing drugs as difficult to do as building an affordable home or running a business in this fine state.
Suddenly we’d have a massive change for the better.
We should make dealing drugs in our state “extremely difficult”
We should have our highway signs declaring this rather than cute little sayings like, “camp in the woods not the left lane”
We should make anyone convicted of a crime start working on all the gang grafettin in our state, give them a small wire brush and let them have at it. They can start with the bridge over i-89, which isn’t even built yet and has gangs declaring their territory.
Every town knows where, and who are dealing drugs. Montpelier is ok with this. They do nothing to discourage the activity. Put a cupola on your house, exceeding 35′ and get back to me. Add a bedroom without changing your entire septic system and get back to me.
It’s not by accident this is happening it’s part of the plan. It is written out in the play book on how to subvert a country or state……we need to get wise quick.
