On October 1, Iran launched nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel in response to the killings of the heads of Hamas and Hezbollah and an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) general last month. Since then, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has threatened to deliver a “deadly, pinpoint accurate, and surprising” response to Iran, while Israeli officials have called for devastating strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure, including nuclear facilities. On Thursday, an unnamed Israeli source reportedly told ABC News that Netanyahu had approved the set of targets. However, the source did not provide any specific details on the targets or whether they are strictly related to the Iranian military.

Biden announces $425 million in military aid for Ukraine | 16 Oct 2024 | Joe Biden spoke to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on Wednesday about efforts to surge security assistance to Ukraine and announced a new 425 million military aid package, the White House said. The security package includes air defense capability, air-to-ground munitions, armored vehicles and critical munitions, the White House said in a statement. Zelensky, writing on Telegram, expressed gratitude to Biden, both parties of Congress and the American people for the new package and said he spoke to Biden about Kiev’s five-point [imaginary] “victory plan,” which he presented to parliament on Wednesday.

‘Unspeakable anger’ in U.S. over Ukraine aid – GOP Rep | 17 Oct 2024 | Americans are furious with the current administration because it has sent billions to Ukraine while treating its own citizens worse than dirt, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has said. Speaking at a campaign rally in Atlanta on Wednesday evening, the Georgia Republican contrasted the response by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to disasters affecting Americans with their eagerness to funnel funds to Kiev. “Lahaina. East Palestine. Western North Carolina,” Greene named the locations of catastrophic wildfires [DEW attack], a toxic train derailment [WEF bucket list goal], and flooding caused by [geoengineered] Hurricane Helene. “There is anger in this country that is unspeakable, over how the Biden-Harris administration has thrown away these Americans as if their lives do not matter. Israel confirms death of Hamas leader | 17 Oct 2024 | Israel has officially announced that Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza, has been killed. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Thursday that they were “investigating” whether Sinwar was among the Palestinian militants killed in a skirmish at an unspecified location. “Eliminated: Yahya Sinwar,” the IDF posted on X on Thursday evening. Foreign Minister Israel Katz has also sent out a note to several of his colleagues around the world confirming Sinwar’s death, according to an official statement. Sinwar, 62, has been the political leader of Hamas in Gaza since early 2017. He assumed full leadership of the group in August, after Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran.

U.S. to send anti-missile system and troops to Israel, Pentagon says | 14 Oct 2024 | The United States said on Sunday it will send U.S. troops to Israel along with an advanced U.S. anti-missile system, in a highly unusual deployment meant to bolster the country’s air defenses following missile attacks by Iran. Joe Biden said the move was meant “to defend Israel,” which is weighing an expected retaliation against Iran after Tehran fired more than 180 missiles at Israel on Oct 1. The United States has been privately urging Israel to calibrate its response to avoid triggering a broader war in the Middle East, officials say, with Biden publicly voicing his opposition to an Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear sites and his concerns about a strike on Iran’s energy infrastructure.

Israel kills at least 21 in strike on Christian town in north Lebanon | 14 Oct 2024 | Israel expanded its targets in its war with Hezbollah militants in Lebanon on Monday, killing at least 21 people in an airstrike in the north, health officials said, while millions of Israelis took shelter from projectiles fired back across the border. So far the main focus of Israel’s military operations in Lebanon has been in the south, the Bekaa Valley in the east and the suburbs of Beirut. The strike in the Christian-majority town of Aitou hit a house that had been rented to displaced families, the town’s mayor Joseph Trad told Reuters. In addition to the deaths, eight people were injured, the Lebanese health ministry said.

U.S. military strikes Houthi targets in Yemen –B-2 strategic stealth bombers were used in the strikes. | 16 Oct 2024 | The U.S. military has struck Houthi weapons storage facilities within Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, U.S. officials told ABC News. “U.S. Central Command forces conducted multiple airstrikes on numerous Iran-backed Houthi weapons storage facilities within Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen,” a U.S. defense official said. The defense official said the weapons were used to “target military and civilian vessels navigating international waters throughout the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin confirmed that B-2 strategic stealth bombers were used in the strikes against “five hardened underground weapons storage locations in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.”

Updated DoD directive expands military authority to use lethal force against U.S. citizens | 15 Oct 2024 | With the election only a few weeks away, the Department of Defense (DoD) has given the U.S. military authority to assist in domestic law enforcement, including giving them the right to use lethal force against American citizens under certain circumstances. It’s a development that has largely gone under the radar despite its significant implications. DoD Directive 5240.01 is not new, but it got an update last month.  It expands the list of circumstances in which the DoD is allowed to use deadly force while helping civilian law enforcement, potentially paving the way for using such force under a vague definition of “national security” conditions. This new iteration replaces the 2016 version of the directive, which was largely concerned with collecting intelligence and protecting civil liberties. In the updated version, lethal force can be used where there are imminent threats as long as it follows proper legal frameworks and gains approval from the Secretary of Defense… Also, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has recently broadened its definition of domestic terrorism, with the list of potential threats now including individuals who question election integrity as well as vaccine efficacy and the origins of the pandemic.

The Pentagon Wants to Use AI to Create Deepfake Internet Users –The Department of Defense wants technology so it can fabricate online personas that are indistinguishable from real people. | 17 Oct 2024 | The U.S. secretive Special Operations Command is looking for companies to help create deepfake internet users so convincing that neither humans nor computers will be able to detect they are fake, according to a procurement document reviewed by The Intercept. The plan, mentioned in a new 76-page wish list by the Department of Defense’s Joint Special Operations Command, or JSOC, outlines advanced technologies desired for country’s most elite, clandestine military efforts. “Special Operations Forces (SOF) are interested in technologies that can generate convincing online personas for use on social media platforms, social networking sites, and other online content,” the entry reads. The document specifies that JSOC wants the ability to create online user profiles that “appear to be a unique individual that is recognizable as human but does not exist in the real world,” with each featuring “multiple expressions” and “Government Identification quality photos.”

Facebook engineer admits site ‘automatically demotes’ anti-Kamala posts to ‘help the Democrats’ | 17 Oct 2024 | A Meta engineer claimed that Facebook has been “automatically demoting” posts criticizing Kamala Harris in an undercover sting. Senior software engineer Jeevan Gyawali was caught by a hidden camera while on a date discussing how Meta’s algorithms and content moderation practices reduce the visibility of certain political posts without notifying the users.He provided an explanation to the unknown woman who sat at the other side of the table, saying if someone posts about Harris is “unfit to be president because she does not have a child” that “kind of s— is automatically demoted.” Gyawali, 32, also said that Meta has the ability to influence the 2024 election, claiming CEO Mark Zuckerberg plans to use that power to help the Democrats.

Weber’s report shows that Harris copied verbatim content from Wikipedia, Goodwill Industries, her partner on her “Back on Track” crime program, into the text of her book.
