A male suspect robbed Market 32 in St. Albans late Saturday night, assaulting a cashier and fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash, city police said.
Authorities responded to the scene at approximately 10:45 p.m. after reports of an assault and robbery at the supermarket.
According to the St. Albans Police Department, the suspect made a small purchase and waited for the cashier to open the cash drawer before forcibly taking the money.
During the incident, the cashier attempted to thwart the robbery but was assaulted by the suspect.
The employee did not sustain serious injuries, and no weapon was involved in the crime.
The suspect is described as a white male with receding light-colored hair, possibly light red or blonde.
He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and has a tattoo on his right upper forearm. After the robbery, he was observed leaving the parking lot on foot heading towards Rt. 7.
Police have released images from the supermarket’s surveillance footage in hopes of identifying the suspect. They are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the St. Albans Police Department at (802) 524-2166 or visit their website.

Now, if you were standing in line and watched the robbery, what would you have done to stop it?????
We’re all instructed to just hand it over. Are you kidding me? I’ve been working with cash since the late 70’s. At no time did we ever get instructions other than to give it all to the perp.
Go chase him in the parking lot if he leaves without incident. Please don’t make things worse inside the store.
RGB. Thank you for the answer.
