Driver fled scene, is suspect in church parking lot disturbance

Police are seeking a man they say drove his car into a Berlin supermarket early Sunday morning, two days after he fled police when approached behind a church.
Suspect Devon Hallock, 22, of Williamstown reportedly has expressed the wish to be shot by a police officer rather than face arrest.
Berlin police say that at 3:45 AM on January 5, they and Berlin Fire Department responded to Market 32 (former Price Chopper) on Route 302 following reports of a vehicle crashing into the building, with additional reports of a fire.
First responders found the vehicle embedded in the entranceway of Market 32. The fire was primarily contained to the vehicle and the building’s entrance. Emergency personnel quickly secured the area, and the fire was extinguished. The vehicle was removed from the scene
Police say the driver fled before first responders arrived.
Prior incident in church parking lot
Law enforcement has identified the vehicle as being involved in an incident in the Church of Latter Day Saints parking lot with Berlin officers the previous evening, during which the same vehicle fled the scene. The vehicle was last seen being operated by Hallock, who is now the subject of an active search.
On January 3, the Berlin Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle complaint on Hersey Road in Berlin. Upon arrival at the parking lot behind the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, police saw a vehicle with three occupants.
As officers approached, the driver abruptly fled the scene, driving over a snow embankment and recklessly revving the engine while rocking the vehicle back and forth.
Despite officers’ commands to exit the vehicle, the driver refused to comply, nearly striking officers in the process and causing injuries to one of the officers.
The driver, identified as Hallock, has been reported to make alarming statements to his probation officer and others, indicating a refusal to return to jail and stating he would rather be shot by police.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and law enforcement is actively working to locate the operator. If you have any information about this incident please contact Detective Corporal Withrow of the Berlin Police Department (802-223-4401) (Daniel.Withrow@vermont.gov).

If I may quote the wisdom of Barney Fife: “you need to nip it in the bud”. This is yet another one-man terror spree scenario brought to us by Vermont’s cadre of marxist prosecutors and Attorney general, and their “incarceration is obsolete” philosophy. Credit is also due Vermont’s progressive legislature for creating a legal framework for assisted suicide. Some people dont want to involve paperwork and medical professionals, and would rather take matters into their own hand, which our society abhors. When someone publicly expresses a desire to die a violent death through the intervention of public servants, that is a serious cry for help, a clear and present danger to the community at large and a threat to the wellbeing of the LEO whose hand is forced into acting lethally. They either need to be treated for psychiatric issues or locked up, or both before reaching this level of crisis.
This sadly sounds like someone doing their own variation of the New Orleans crash scene with a little less bravado. Gratefully, no one was injured, but I’m sure many who frequent to supermarket will still experience a chilling effect.
Reports on the Las Vegas scenario suggest the decorated Green Beret was not trying to stage terror, but to Awaken Americans. The drones maybe AI devices with high tech gravity propulsion mechanisms. There’s balloons overhead, too, out of sight but lurking and capable. Are we ready? Is WWIII closer than anyone wants.
The season we just celebrated tells us – God said FEAR NOT, I bring you great tidings of great Joy. The child that was born in Bethlehem was born to be a Savior. He didn’t try to stop world events when they hailed Him King of Kings when they nailed Him to the cross. But that didn’t stop Him from turning the world around with healing love and power amidst his followers. TheHOPEProject.com is a great overview of the Bible, God’s story of wanting people to know the HOPE there is in walking with Him. Maybe this New Year people should resolve to peek inside this book that has long been sought out by generations for Hope, Love, Peace and direction in a confused world.
Just another day at the Vermont zoo.
So WHY didn’t police shoot him? Vermont AIMS to please! Give the lunatic what he asked for.
Rumor has it VSP received several calls about his location BEFORE the Market 32 incident but refused to do anything about it
