A California man who sold unapproved prescription drugs and performance-enhancing substances through an online business has been sentenced to one year of supervised release and ordered to pay $100,000 in forfeiture.

Jeremy Brown, 55, of Simi Valley, operated Warrior Labz SARMs, selling unauthorized versions of prescription medications including Ozempic, Wegovy, and erectile dysfunction drugs sourced primarily from China. The sentencing was announced Monday by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont.

According to prosecutors, Brown marketed the substances as “research chemicals” while simultaneously promoting their effects on human body function. He continued operations even after receiving an FDA warning letter in June 2023. Brown continued to sell unapproved drugs over the internet after this. Between August and December 2023, Brown made three sales of unapproved drugs to an undercover law enforcement account in Vermont.

Court records show Brown made no effort to verify the contents or quality of the Chinese-sourced drugs, despite claiming his company used “pharmaceutical grade ingredients” and U.S. manufacturing standards. Law enforcement made three undercover purchases from Brown’s websites between August and December 2023.

The case focused on Brown’s distribution of Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMs), which are similar to anabolic steroids, along with unapproved versions of Viagra, Cialis, and diabetes drugs repurposed for weight loss.

Chief U.S. District Judge Christina Reiss handed down the sentence on February 3, concluding a case that spanned illegal drug sales from March 2019 through December 2023.
