Tyshan Murray, 43, of Union, New Jersey was indicted in federal court in Burlington September 26 for unlawfully transporting citizens of Ireland, who had entered the United States unlawfully.
Murray pleaded not guilty. According to court records, on September 8, 2024, nine citizens of Ireland had crossed into the United States illegally in the vicinity of Drew Road in Richford. Murray picked up these nine citizens near the U.S.-Canada border and transported them in his SUV, including two young children who were unrestrained in the rear cargo compartment.
Murray reportedly was charged with a similar crime a year ago in New York.
Five years for punching cop, etc. – Hasan Williams, 27, recently of Burlington, was sentenced earlier this month in federal court in Burlington to five years in jail and three years of supervised release in connection with punching a cop in the head and apparently reaching for a gun. Williams previously pleaded guilty to possessing a loaded handgun after having been convicted of a felony, specifically assault and robbery in 2016.
According to court records, Burlington Police Department responded to a late-night call shortly after midnight between August 27-28, 2023 in downtown Burlington regarding a possible assault and possession of a firearm. When police arrived, they located Williams walking away from the call location and on the grounds of the Chittenden County Superior Court. Police approached Williams who denied being involved in the alleged assault.
The police asked Williams if he had a gun on him and he replied that he did not. Williams was wearing a shoulder bag that the police stated they wanted to remove without looking inside, knowing that another recent call involved someone with a similar shoulder bag containing a gun. Williams refused to comply, turned his back on the officer and began reaching for the shoulder bag.
Williams instigated an altercation with the officer, punching him in the head before four additional officers and a civilian helped restrain Williams. After the altercation, the zipper on Williams’s shoulder bag had opened, making plainly visible a handgun inside. Police obtained a search warrant for the shoulder bag which contained a loaded handgun.

Smuggling Irish? Just get a ticket to Mexico, head north and walk across the border, be treated to VIP status by the Harris administration.
Hasan is lucky he only got 5 years in club fed, and he darn well should if he was found with a gun after a felony conviction. If he was given a lawful order by police to keep his hands in sight and then turned around and reached into a bag with a gun in it, in the real world, he would be compost right now. Also, in the real world, if he punched a police officer in the head, that would be justification for a lethal response. Unfortunately, the Burlington police do not operate in the real world. What decent people are left in Burlington are very fortunate that anyone would want to be on their police force, given the criticism and abuse they face on a daily basis.
Going to go out on a limb here… they weren’t Irish. They were “Irish.”
How dare that wanton criminal violating federal Immigration Law attempt to illegally bring white people, potentially middle income to boot, into this country??? Throw the book at him! And deport those Micks back where they came from!!!!!!!!!
Next thing you know, I’ll be hearing they all were capable of gainful employment. Disgraceful.
Personally, I think we should change the word migrant to Irish. This simple change will fix everything and cost nothing except create a lot of employment in good paying American jobs (a phrase I stole from the whitehouse website).
Things sure have changed, since back in the day, when some Irish were smuggling American arms, to Ireland, for the IRA, during the troubles, fast forward 40/50 years, and now they are smuggling the Irish into the USA.
Crazy world.
I thought if a felon had a firearm it was a ten-year minimum sentence for a federal violation ………….are the Federal laws viewed different in VT ??
Details missing: I will assume the “Irish” citizens were not natural born Irish and were not the authenic, genetic pastey-white, freckled, firey red head, or the blue eyed blonde type of Irish? The UN is trafficking humans like chattel – it is their modus operandi for decades now. The agreements are all in place.
BBC January 2022: Thousands of undocumented migrants and their families will have a pathway to Irish citizenship under a government scheme which opened on Monday.
The justice department estimates there could be 17,000 undocumented people – including 3,000 children – living in Ireland, broadcaster RTÉ reports.
Those who have lived in Ireland for the past four years can apply for official permission to live there. (NOTE: if undocumented, how do they know how long they’ve been in the country?)
The Irish justice minister said it was a “once-in-a-generation” scheme.
Helen McEntee said the plan would improve the lives of thousands who were contributing to society but had to live in the legal shadows.
